>>1968Actually I think chances are it'll come over.
I'm just wondering if there will be censorship.
So for the main game play, it's basically a time limit game.
You have 1 year remaining and the main goal is to earn money so that you can visit the girls.
It's quite similar to the Arland Atelier games actually.
The process goes something like this:
- Explore dungeons for materials
- Craft weapons or items
- Sell weapons for money or equip them
- Optional: you can take on quests for fame and money, or visit companions to improve relationship
Then you must visit the girls once every 10 days (can be earlier).
So for the first part, some people may not like this type of game already.
Next, the game play is minimalistic.
For instance, dungeon exploration is a simple 2D map. You choose 3 characters and they each have at most 3 skills.
The dungeon exploration is fairly simple too.
So, as a whole, there isn't anything special about each component. Some people may prefer games with flashier stuff.
For instance, Ateliers have 3D dungeons so it looks nicer. Plus the combat is animated and characters have assist skills.
On the other hand, Blacksmith's game play is much faster.
For comparison, the exploration in Atelier games is quite slow since the combat is rather time consuming.
Item crafting is much straight forward too, you gather the right materials and that's it.
So, as you can see, Blacksmith's game play includes just the essential stuff.
I kind of prefer this style, since I focus on how to spend my time to achieve the objectives.
Now, the problem with the game (so it's only average) would be the lack of complexity as well as variety of things to do.
In short, the amount of contents is not quite good enough.
The saving grace would be that the crafting minigame is kind of fun (though it gets old after first run) and the setting and story is quite interesting. Also, the lewd minigame is alright and the events with the girls are nice too.
