Yeah I agree Mars One is a joke. If you want an actual credible colonization program, NASA or SpaceX are the only contenders.

I doubt congress is going to donate Billions of dollars to start any colonization, I could see them donating to Mars one or spaceX but they would never do it all alone without help.

Maybe a joint operation between them and a few other nations and we could get a research base at best.
