>>>/am/ here.
What's your favorite anime to watch while you study not-japanese, /spanishclass/?

 No.162

I'm not really into anime, so I just watch either nostalgia stuff from my childhood, or occasionally interesting things like Haibane Renmei.

 No.163

Not big into anime per se but I do enjoy Guts/Band of the Hawk and some

Pues no soy fan de ver anime o alguna serie de televisión mientras estudio, pero sería ghost in the shell, yuru yuri.

I'm not a fan of watch anime or series while I'm studying, but my favourites are ghosts in the shell and yuru yuri.

I'm always afraid that I will mess up grammatically speaking in Spanish even tho as an American I've been making english grammatical errors for the past 20 years lol.

(needed google translate for that,GT)

I acquired the basics at elementary school (to be, there is/are, have got, can, present, past simple), though some schools don't offer English until middle/high school. The rest I learned by myself through browsing random websites, forums, playing games, and watching movies (subs help too). I hardly ever spoke English anywhere outside classes.

To tell the truth, I'd personally avoid speaking in a foreign language (outside a learning environment) unless I was confident that what I'm going to say is correct and sounds natural, lest I make a retard out of myself in front of strangers.

¿Hay una carta para español a Inglés para estas palabras, por ejemplo.

to be
there is/are
have got,
can
present tense
(etc)

 No.198

>>197
¿Carta?
Carta = letter -> carta, letra.
I think you meant palabra (word).

to be -> ser, estar (depends on context)
there is/are -> hay
have -> tener
can -> poder (present)

Present is a tense. We've got the indicative present as an equivalent.

gracias mi amigo. Además (or is it tambien), yo estaba tratando de decir "chart".

 No.203

>>200
It's también, although the overall syntax of that sentence looks weird. I'd have used "También quería saber cómo se dice 'chart' en español". The subject is yo, but I omitted it.

Translating chart without context is a bit tough…
Gráfico, tabla, or diagrama may work.

I'll use some basic chart types to illustrate:
Pie chart -> gráfico de torta
Line chart -> gráfico de líneas (diagrama de líneas is also used)
Bar chart -> gráfico de barras
Times table (or chart) -> tabla de multiplicación
