Organization:
Simple Hierarchy
The highest ranking orders have first priority.
Structure:
Starting rank is assigned based on your time of formal initiation / entrance.
In the event of group initiation, older students are given higher rank. You can move up in rank by challenging your direct superior and defeating him / her at his / her own game. Challenges must be fair so that if the game master could challenge his / her self neither self would have an advantage. You have the right to challenge your direct superior for a ranked game once a month, and s/he cannot decline. There must be a gap of at least one week between challenging your superior, and defending against your subordinate. The highest rank is 0 (Zero) otherwise known as the Archon. 0 is given authority by the confidence all initiates invest in him/her. A constant (mandatory) poll is taken of who is favored for the rank of 0. To assume the rank of 0 you must either be selected by the previous 0, or maintain 60% support for a full continuous year. If at anytime you go under 60% support, the confidence / time requirement resets. The second highest rank is naturally 1 (First), this is the highest rank that can be achieved purely through victory in ranked games.
Unlike other educational institutions, the Spartan Academy is for life, though it is possible to gain leave for blocks at a time. Initiates of the Academy may be offered the right to assume new titles above that of student based on their level of attainment such as instructor, researcher, professor, or academic. An initiate of the Academy is required to return 50% of their increase to the Academy. 40% of this finances the Academy, with the remaining 10% is divided equally between all initiates with payments monthly. The initiate can expect the Academy's full support and free access to common resources. Being initiated into the Academy is a legal contract. In the event an Initiate must leave the Academy, all the support provided will be charged as services rendered.
Education:
Classes are based upon student ability instead of student age.
Learning is broken down into two categories, Skills and Projects.
An example of a basic skill in the field of math would be addition and subtraction.
Skill classes are not graded, either you complete the skill (get the equivalent of an A grade) or you continue working at it, or you stop and try something else for a while.
Immediately after the completion of any given skill class level, the student will then act as a tutor for the next group of students. This will reinforce learning.
An example of a project would be the creation, marketing, and sale to the public of a new product for a profit.
Projects should require a wide variety of skills, and be lead by those who have the most developed relevant skills.
