Believe what you want, but I've only ever heard /pol/acks give that interpretation of Taqiyya. I don't think the concept even exists in the Sunni (ISIS are sunnis) sect, and quite frankly, the Shi'ites need Taqiyya. They tend to throw their lives away needlessly, at the first opportunity that presents itself. It's a cultural thing, for them.

WIthout Taqiyya, any moron could wipe out an entire neighborhood of shias, simply by walking down the street with a gun, and asking, "are you a shia". Remember, these are the same people who ran through minefields in the Iran-Iraq war. On a mildly related note, your problems with islam, most likely, stem from something that sunnis did.

polite sage also, but Iranian soldiers did that because their regular military wasn't in the best shape due to the revolution which recently happened, and the human wave attacks were used in conjunction with the regular Iranian military, as well as the Basiji/Pasadran forces. It's not just 'human wave attack for no purpose' it had a legitimate usage in driving out the invading Iraqis.

Now, thanks to US Imperialism which hilariously took out both of Iran's nearby enemies, Sadaam and the Taliban, as well as Iran's improved domestic military capabilities, Iran doesn't have to do that. Note currently Iran is sending special forces and volunteers to fight in Iraq now.
