It is really strange that this couple doesn't get any love. I think it's that Vicky's character is so abrasive in the show, she just comes off as unavailable. Hell, the author of this spent something like 30 pages making Vicky relatable and lovable. Her most obvious contemporaries, Frankie and Wendy, don't have this problem. Neither do Haruko or Mamimi. Marceline most definitely does not, and she's probably the closest to Vicky, in terms of actual character.
I don't think it's a coincidence that Fairly Oddparents came out in 2001, with a super antagonistic onee, while the other two came out in 2004, and 2012, with saccharine sweet onees. I think the writers learned something about what people actually want to watch. I can't think of a cartoon since Oddparents that had a shota/onee relationship with that much antagonism. Of course, I also don't watch a ton of cartoons.
