Before anything else is discussed, that has to be recognized as a fundamentally flawed system.

So, eventually, in Fallout, it IS possible to eventually bare-fist a deathclaw in 1v1 personal combat. It's impossible to do to even a tiny pack of those wild dogs that run around the Cordon in STALKER. It's just a personal preference - I don't want to play a game that so aggressively breaks my immersion.
People play games to escape reality, or at least, that's definitely why the vast majority of people
and certainly we play games.
