The sheer amount of autism put into playing the same game for years on end almost makes furry LARPers look sane.

I just found an apartment in Melbourne for $140 PER CALENDER MONTH (holy shit) plus some GST. It's in an affluent and safe suburb, too. This sounds too good to be true. Has anyone had any experience living in a tenement? Are the walls usually thin? That's what I'm worried about.

Yeah, you can take a few hits… but your health doesn't regenerate either. You need to find a health kit to heal your health.
Your shield/armor doesn't even regenerate iirc, but an engineer can use their magic repair beam to top you off on that and keep you in combat a bit longer.
It only makes sense, really, given what the game comes from. Infantry in the game could take several shots from a tank just by digging a hole in the ground, and a standoff between two groups of infantry could take two or three seconds of trading shots before anyone would be a clear victor.
It does kind of make the sniper class nigh useless since you have to give away your cover just to take off one opponent's shield and half their health and get swift retribution from a helicopter, but that's the way it goes in these games.

4, 5, and Zero are on PC, in the form of emulation. I had a bit of trouble with Zero, but I remember 4 and 5 working just fine.
Trninity was a bit disappointing to veterans like me. We'd gone up against flying super fortresses, laser towers, canon emplacements that were built to knock meteors out of the sky, gigantic submarines with the capability to bring an advancing army to a halt, or knock entire squadrons out of the sky. Strangereal allowed them to get a bit over the top with their super weapons, and then in AH it was like, "there's a big scary nuke, stop it".
Also, Russians are used way too much as the enemy. I just killed a guy named Makarov who was also Russian in actual COD, do I really want to do that over again in a jet?
I will give you that the music was good, that's something Project Aces has never messed up, in any of the Ace Combat titles.

I guess it's a matter of taste then. AC:AH is as close to the "real" world as you can get. The rest of the games have a strange element of fantasy to them that make them something special to me.
