You see, you can view and download the current and previous 2 years of issues, but you can only view the ones before that. They use two different online viewer things depending on whether it's a downloadable issue or not, but I guess there was some kind of error and they were using the one with the "Download" button for all of the issues and not just some.

The whole thing is just massive overcompensation for corner camping, which was a minor problem. Completely ruining the gameflow just trying to "fix" that one little thing. It does take away in this way.
The balance is not at all the same so the game plays much differently. Just because the maps are there doesn't mean they work nice.
Having access to melee weapons for example is not a net positive, as the horde is much less deadly. You no longer have to master the careful melee/shoot dance to get out of a sticky situation, just equip a melee weapon and get free kills.
L4D was based on sticking together and dealing with the environment, sometimes getting stopped completely to make that happen. L4D2 is about running as fast as you can down a small corridor. Survivors overall got a big boost.
Even the scoring system is messed up. Where L4D rewarded surviving, L4D2 gives out participation medals instead.

I'm well aware there's more to cinematography than CGI or not. But CGI is often used to make dumb camera moves that take you out of it. In addition to looking fake, which takes you more out of it.
Emmerich before Day After Tomorrow used very convincing effects and framed some beautiful shots that draw you in. He understands how to draw the eye and uses a very engaging editing technique. He still does the latter two things, just with more bad CGI now.
Even Day After Tomorrow despite its CGI overuse did an excellent job of making you feel the bad weather. It's a genuinely cold looking movie. Very effective.
Avatar is a movie all about going to another habitable world and they don't show you one lick of it other than some computer concept art.
As for the story, I liked it better when it was called War of the Wendigo. At least that didn't have an awful half baked romance.
Whatever cinematographical qualities it had are pretty much panel by panel taken from that comic anyway.
Cameron did some great stuff but he has pretty much lost it with that one.
Remember the popular blockbusters today are trash like star trek, pacific rim, godzilla '14, and fucking transformers. That's what I'm comparing to here. And even white house down looks pretty good compared to that.
