I know what you're thinking. You want to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but you don't know where to start?

Well lucky for you we have some pasta:

>BugTrap, crash to desktop, freeze/lockup? Find your crash log.
Check your Documents or game install directories for the xray_[your name].log file. If you can't find it, look in the location specified at the top of fsgame.ltx. Copy the last few lines from the log and paste them here if you want any help.

Remember to switch to "Viewing" mode on the Google docs.

- During the installer, install all third-party software
- If the game fails to save options, run as Administrator, install outside of Program Files, and/or disable UAC
- Enter "g_actor_body off" in console to disable legs; they're buggy and were supposed to be disabled by default
- It is recommended to force v-sync from your GPU control panel to prevent issues due to uncapped menu FPS
- If playing on DX10, select the DX10.1 option for better performance
- If you want to remove the black death screen, enter "g_first_person_death off" in the console
