 No.10057

Anyone else enjoy General Hux's glorious speech?

FUCK THE REPUBLIC

 No.10058

>>10057

I teared up at that scene, it was fucking beautiful.

 No.10060

Here is a transcript:

> Today is the end of the Republic. The end of a regime that acquiesces to disorder. At this very moment in a system far from here, the New Republic lies to the galaxy while secretly supporting the treachery of the rogues of the Resistance. This fierce machine which you have built, upon which we stand will bring an end to the Senate, to their cherished fleet. All remaining systems will bow to the First Order and will remember this as the last day of the Republic!

Has anyone been able to find a video?

>the scene that establishes the Empire as edgy wannabe space-nazis

>spoken by stammering weak voiced 'I am so evil' loser

>good

 No.10077

>le space nazi face

With such an incompetent faction led by retards like this, I have to wonder how the First Order is even still around. But then again, the New Republic doesn't seem much better off.

 No.10106

>>10060

take the cam copy and just webm the speech

i, too, enjoyed this specifically for the reasons stated in >>10071 the fact that hux has such a nasally british voice makes it all the better.

 No.10117

I'm surprised /pol/ isn't running around saying how great it is.

>Literally just edgy hollywood space nazis. Together with edgy flags and hitler salute.

>glorious.

Fuck off. It was cringey as fuck. The Empire was never like that. Jew Jew Abrams has butchered the Empire to make it le ebul nazi boogey man to fit the hollywood agenda.

yes I know that in the OT, imperial officer uniforms and Darth Vader's suit had been inspired by Nazi uniforms. Key word: INSPIRED. Not fucking simulated.

This. It didn't have to be like this Abrams you fucking fiend…

 No.10136

>>10129

I'm not talking about agendas and conspiracies. Personally, I am beyond giving a shit about any of that. The world is what it is, life is what it is, just fucking relax. Death will come.

What I'm talking about is the effect. I can admire the shouting, the raw nasally british shouty angry fascist energy coming from Domhnall Gleeson (as >>10106 -sama also mentioned) without being upset about this or that.

 No.10138

>>10071

Well someone is insecure :^)

 No.10139

>>10129

the opening scene in ROTJ was pretty much the same thing (minus the overthetop salute)

 No.10148

>>10139

that was just a formation being held for the GALACTIC FUCKING EMPEROR

there were no dramatic banners

there were no fucking goofy shouty speeches

there was no fucking laser shot through the atmosphere

the concept of holding a military formation for the arrival of a dignitary is very fucking old, and suits his position as the leader of the entire goddamn known universe

 No.10161

enjoy it? Maybe if every officer in the First Order wasn't a baby-faced twenty-something.

Seriously, what the fuck was with that casting?

 No.10168

>>10129

you're right that the empire wasn't like that

and ps this isn't the empire, it's a bunch of empire fanboys

 No.10178

I'm sorry, I was too busy being beaten over the head by the "MUH NAZIS" symbolism.

I get it, Abrams. You're a filthy Jew. Move on.

 No.10184

>>10057

I was sitting wondering how the giant laser coming from the ground made up of the energy from a star didn't vaporise the lot of them. Surely that's got to give off some heat.

 No.10194

>>10138

I'm having an incredibly hard time understanding what the fuck this post is supposed to mean.

 No.10229

>>10184

but it's a cold planet anon, didn't you see the evil white snow?

 No.10250

>>10184

I thought the same about the scene where Kylo holds his saber way too close to Rey's face buyet her skin doesn't melt. Is it supposed to work like that?

 No.10253

>>10250

that's not how a saber works, it doesn't leak radiation

 No.10281

>>10253

Something that's hot enough to melt steel beams would presumably be radiating a lot of heat.

 No.10283

>>10281

Hasn't it been stated before in one book or another that the energy of a lightsaber blade is contained, and therefore doesn't leak in the form of heat? I imagine that if it gave off heat, the blade would be somewhat inefficient, as it would be constantly leaking energy, essentially.

Then again, the Path of the Jedi book states lightsabers can be used to boil liquids.

 No.10323

>>10283

it's a beam of pure plasma, of course it can boil water

didn't you see clone wars? kit fisto's saber was constantly boiling the water around it.

That delivery… That… DELIVERY….

FUCK THE REPUBLIC

 No.10623

fisto's was modified so it could work underwater though

that cam rip is awful

also, webm that shit before it gets taken down

DISORDAH

 No.10686

>>10323

Boil liquids as in via convection. As in it gives off heat.

 No.10703

>>10630

Actually, although its low quality, I still grit my teeth in solidarity with Angry British Man during his grand speech. His cadence when he says "will bring an end to the senate; to their cherished fleet" is just so stentorian and majestic. Also in parts (around 00:13 and particularly 00:40) there appear to be ripples in whatever the film is projected against which makes it seem like his energy is warping the space around him.

It makes me think twice before I

ACQUIESCE TO DISORDAH

 No.10719

>>10703

>there appear to be ripples in whatever the film is projected against which makes it seem like his energy is warping the space around him.

perhaps he's force-sensitive, or learning how to meme?

 No.10885

>>10615

Speech was decent. Needed a better delivery and a better speaker.

 No.11186

>>10703

Wether this speech was good or not, I felt pretty intimidated at that point.

You know the First Order ain't fucking around.

And even technology aside, I'd be more scared of the First Order than the Empire if I ever was a citizen of the republic.

 No.11188

>>11186

but the thing is, it feels hackneyed that they're even IN this position, that they somehow have the resources to build this retarded weapon AND somehow think what they're doing will actually make things better

hell, at least Tarkin had plans to USE his effectively

>Fear will keep the other systems in line

but all Hux does is shoot stuff like an interstellar Eric Harris

"intimidating" only in the sense that he's somehow OP despite being a fucking shadow of the former Empire

shit storywriting, middling delivery, and I swear they're trying to force this as a meme or something

 No.11189

>>11188

>88

>columbine reference

are you the new hitler?

anyways, my guess is they've put 90% of their resources toward starkiller base since they were created, hence why we have so little variation in anything else.

i fully expect to see new tie fighters in the sequels because of this.

 No.11190

>>11189

I was speculating that Starkiller was something Sheev commissioned before he asploded. Given a Death Star took around 20 years to build, it seems likely that Starkiller was in the works during the days of the empire. Besides it has Sheev's super weapon fetish written all over it.

 No.11202

>>11189

>new tie fighters

So far we had an upgraded base fighter and a 2-man turret equipped variant.

Have you guys got any ideas of what they could do ?

I'd love to simply see an upgraded tie bomber with a gunner's seat. that or a special variant with multiple ordenance pods (such as the Tie Interdictor)

Simple bomber wouldn't cut the mustard for me.

 No.11208

>>11202

i would be perfectly fine with them taking some EU tie fighters and just giving them first order skins

i mean it would seem cheap but at the same time canonize all those awesome crazy designs that have no practical use.

shit like the tie/d, tie phantom and tie tank would work well in the new canon.
