From 1977-1987 Marvel released hundreds of pages of comics. Are these considered EU? What are they about? Do they fit well into the Legends timeline or are they defunct everywhere? Should I buy them?

 No.10841

>has the legends banner

>"is it canon?"

no, new friend. anything under the "legends" banner is non-canon in the disney eu.

should you buy them? why buy them when you can download them? actually, i have no idea how good the quality of those scans are, if you can get a big collection it will probably be worth it.

When did I ever even use the word canon? Canon is worthless to me.

I'm just wondering how these comics fit into the timeline. Are they post-ROTJ material or do they happen within the OT?

I prefer to hold books and comics in my hands, btw, Nothing saps the fun out of reading more than looking at a screen and being unable to turn pages.

Awesome, can you describe the gist of them to me? Is it worth the effort?

no i can't, i haven't read them.

just know that they do all sorts of crazy shit that has nothing to do with the movies and always were non-canon

If you like comics from the 70s and 80s, they're pretty fun. I had a bunch that I bought from the quarter bin at the comic shop as a kid.

If you're going to buy them, search out the Omnibuses that Dark Horse put out. The collection Marvel is putting out is going to cost around $100. I think Dark Horse called their reprints of the classic comics "Star Wars: A Long Time Ago."

I would try and read some of it before you go buying anything. There are some torrents of the series out there. I personally enjoyed what I've read of it, but I love comics from that period. Your mileage may vary.
