 No.11298

I think most if not all of us can agree that Episode VI is the weakest movie in the OT.

How would you close out the original trilogy?

 No.11304

No 7th movie

Old EU still in place

Maybe spinoff movies (at best) set hundreds of years after the battle of endor (just far enough so it doesn't get directly collateral with the EU, kinda like KOTOR)

 No.11306

i'd leave it how it was, because jedi has a better ending than empire.

 No.11307

>>11306

I disagree.

>The ewoks were retarded

>The Jabba palace ordeal was retarded

>Death Star 2: Electric Bugaloo (destroyed in one battle again)

There were definitely good parts to this movie, but it was clearly worse than V and IV overall

Also I had no problem with the ending of V. How else would you want it to end?

 No.11308

>>11307

i wouldn't change empire's ending either, it's just that jedi has a better ending, thematically.

also, please go into details on what you didn't like about the ewoks, jabba's palace or death star 2

 No.11309

>Luke goes to rescue Han at Jabbas palace

>Ends up with an epic fight with Boba Fett

>Fett dies honorably, and Han is rescued

>Dagobah scene stays the same

>cloud city scenes are the same

>no ewoks

IV is the weakest in the OT though.

 No.11378

I would have redone the entire trilogy. There would be no prequels or sequels If anyone wants to hear more of my ideas, don't hesitate. For ROTJ/VI:

There's no DS2. Instead we get the Eclipse or something which is under construction but is disguised as an incomplete framework for the battlestation.

Han wouldn't be rescued, he would have died due to a carbon freeze malfunction. Instead Leia and Crix Madine would retrieve his frozen corpse for proper burial as well as to take vengeance on Jabba and the Empire. Jabba and the Empire are baiting them under the pretense of forming an anti-Rebel union, figuring Leia would want to get back at them. Jabba's palace would be a part of the forest that was cleared and would have a lot of alien plants from its original location (not Tatooine here, more like Nar Shadda or Orvax IV) encircling it like a full-scale equivalent to a tacky island paradise photo.

Fett fights better, still dies after being thrown into the Sarlaac inside the palace, probably not due to a damaged jetpack. The Slave I might be used to fight like in Shadows of the Empire. Luke wouldn't resort to the elaborate plan he did in the real movie, they'd all probably try to infiltrate but Jabba's minions and the Imperials would be aware of it and try to capture them. The battle would spiral out of control and spill into the woods, but the Rebels' shuttle Tydirium leaves them to signal the okay before they can warn the fleet.

Emperor Palpatine isn't a Dark Sider, he's like in the original ANH story - a manipulated figurehead away on Coruscant. Darth Sidious (who probably would be known by his real name) is a separate person and not evil incarnate but well meaning, though otherwise basically the same. He rules behind the scenes. Part of his messing with Luke is that he encourages Luke to feel like he already fell to the Dark Side through his anger, despair, desire for revenge and impatience, but Sidious can help him become wiser, stronger, etc. There'd be a lot more carrot than stick in terms of how he'd get to convert him. He doesn't openly tell Luke to take his side near the end, he tries to use reverse psychology to get Luke to kill Vader out of spite, then capitalize on the catharsis of the moment to brainwash/influence him.

The Ewoks wouldn't be teddy bears so much as weird dark deer-puma-bear hybrids that would make the Empire's defeat a lot less embarrassing. Endor itself would be a lot more ominous, the sky would be turquoise or green and everything else would be much darker, even black.

Ackbar's cruiser is the one that takes the plunge, not the Executor. This damages the Eclipse to the point where the fighters can fly inside to destroy the reactor. The space battle would have the Imperial fleet tearing the shit out of the Rebels, but losing their Interdictors. Some of the ships would probably defect to the Rebellion. The Eclipse would be severely damaged but not destroyed by the end of the battle, orbiting amidst the cloud from the explosion.

Yoda appears as a ghost only. Instead of just talking to Vader, in V Sidious was pretending to be a friendly Jedi Master for Luke who was spying on the Empire partly to track down any Jedi who escaped the purge. This was done through being told by Obi Wan where he was so he could "help" as well as through tracking Luke's X-Wing's previous location when it reached Cloud City in case he went anywhere else ie with the Rebel fleet. He would encourage Luke to go save his friends in contrast to Obi-Wan and Yoda to make him fall into the trap and make him seem better to Luke. By VI Yoda would be killed during an Imperial invasion of Dagobah.

Leia would have some training from Luke to become a Jedi. She wouldn't be his sister.

She would have to struggle with the Dark Side too.

Sidious would open a channel between his tower, the space battle and the captured strike team seemingly to force a surrender or amnesty through threatening to kill the hostages and continuing to crush the Rebel fleet. This would just be done to inspire Luke to give into his anger, as he knows they would be killed by the Imperials anyway.

The ending would have celebrations but they would be only on Endor as they evacuated the Rebellion's strike team and maybe some of the Ewoks aboard what few ships remain. Then there would be an artistic shot at the end where dirt starts spiraling up into the sky, growing to the point where it morphs into the galaxy itself. Mon Mothma would reassure everyone that the death of Sidious will cause the Empire to fragment into warlordism and either form a government of genuine reconciliation or be soon defeated entirely.

 No.11514

>No death star two, keep final scene just set it on Coruscant in the Old Jedi Temple. The 'big threat' could be that Mon Mothma has been assassinated and ala Order 66 all Rebel bases have been discovered and all defectors are now in the Empire's hands. This forces Rebels to act as quickly as possible to shut this thing down and so too for the Empire to crush them swiftly.

>Ewok stuff is removed, they were filler and despite wanting to make them 'cooler', you could easily just add rebel guerrilla's in their place saying that Endor was infiltrated for a long time now (We're talking about a planet here, easy to hide)

>Han is permanently blind, Leia is not Luke's sister but there is 'another' out there, Leia and Han do get together

>Final shot is Luke is somewhat the same (pyre but this time on coruscant) except we then transition to Luke wearing robes and a young Ben Skywalker tugging on his robe, he turns around and places a hand on ben to walk back into a temple we now see restored and populated

>Luke and Boba have a fight, Boba nearly bests Luke but is cut down and reveals he's not the first Boba Fett and 'certainly not the last'

Bam. You got EU for decades with those changes.

 No.11525

>>11514

you had me until

>a young ben skywalker tugging on his robe

this literally comes out of nowhere and makes absolutely no sense

thank fuck you didn't write the movies

 No.11563

>>11298

>All Jabba's Palace scenes remain the same except for Fett NOT dying there

>some more dialogue about Luke's father on Dagobah - especially considering the prequels did not exist then there needed to be more explained about the past for the audience

>No Ewoks on Endor

>Han has a fight with Fett on Endor, ending up killing him

>All Luke and Death Star scenes remain the same

>Lando will be helping Han and the others down on Endor

>No cheesy final frame of movie where they are all crowded around as a group before the end credits title hits

 No.11564

>>11563

actually now that I think about it; the final ending scene should NOT take place on Endor

 No.11568

>>11304

This.

Maybe they could do cartoon or CGI adaptations of the EU.

 No.11570

>>11525

Boba Fett also has a Sex scene with me.

 No.11589

>>11568

>Maybe they could do cartoon or CGI adaptations of the EU

eh we already have so many Disney cartoons; Clone Wars series, Clone Wars movie, Rebels.

And even if they did a cartoon series; they would have to put up a warning stating this is an alternate universe version of the Star Wars events which differ from the movies.

Still; it would be super easy for some fan who is a wiz at making animated graphics to make a series - I am sure there is a YouTuber etc who could do this and I would sure love to watch it!

 No.11595

now that's good writing

Why would you want WH40k in Star Wars?

 No.11889

>>11298

>rework the song part

>Boba fett has a decent fight and survives the encounter

>no Death Star II; the Executor and the Imperial capital should function as the big boss of space fights

>no Ewoks

>land mission is to gain access to planetary defense grid / ion cannons

>introduce Mara Jade?

 No.11894

>>11889

going by old canon, mara jade was undercover at jabba's palace, sent to kill skywalker.
