That was discussed to hell and beyond, but anything to movement the board and procrastinate even more.

So, why Vader never cloned any spare parts or at least change those prosthesis to something better, more advanced? A lot of EU material tell us about how shitty the suit was. So the 2nd most powerful man in the galaxy was forced to use a 2nd rate suit forever? Even with the explanation "Frank designed the suit to be shitty", Vader would at least changed his arms and legs and Palpatine would be none the wiser.

Some novel claim that he would move to a new suit, but his life support would have to be disconected and that was too risk… but there is also plenty of material showing him naked, without the armor, inside to chambers of his.

In a galaxy that can create entire clone armies and Death Stars, they can`t grow some spare limbs? Weird.

i suppose it was done in a way that palpatine could keep vader on a short leash.

as vader unwittingly became a prisoner to his own angry thoughts and perils of the dark side of the force, so did he become palpatines prisoner as well.

and palpatine was not only able to control vader, but probably also keep a notice on him at all times, especially on his vitals just in case he decided this whole dark side thing just wasn't working out anymore.

in regards to conjecture, palpatine probably promised him a new body after skywalker was delivered to him, and then with his newly found force power could go on to decimate the rebellion while keeping the systems back in check with the new deathstar.

who knows.

I remember reading somewhere that Sheev kept the galaxy in a technological dark age. Shit didn't progress and its a good explanation why the technology we see in the prequels looks so much more advanced. Palps was keeping all the good shit to himself to take over the galaxy and everything else just kinda atrophied.

Combined with the fact that he wanted to keep Vader pissed/punish him for failing to kill kenobi, it makes sense why he's still got shit robot limbs . Though he's still number one on the short list of most badass cripples in fiction.

A better question is why he didn't an hero. He was desheeved into killing his friends, doing the star wars equivalent of sandy hook, and trying to kill his best friend. And to top it all off he is told he kills his wife and kids, the reason he did it all to begin with. Why live for 30 years in constant emotional and physical pain?

I think I remember an EU book that an anon mentioned once that explains it. Basically, he uses the dark side of the force to keep himself alive with angsty thoughts. If he became content with his suit then he'd lose his grip. His meditation chamber allows him to breathe better, but then that raises his spirits and he looses his concentration so he has to go back to breathing with the suit.

And remember, Vader was cloned at least once. Now that gives some food for thought. Why Frank never cloned Vader? He had spare clones for himself, knew that Vader cloned Starkiller, etc.

Why Sheev never cloned Vader in first place? Every source, movies and EU, tell us that Palpatine was itching to dump Vader at the first opportunity. So "keeping Vader weak" wasn`t a valid reason, since he was always looking for someone stronger, therefore with potential to rebel and even deposel him.

Weird that Vader himself relied on clones (Starkiller, to the point creating like Duncan Idaho gholas, one after another), but never used it as spare parts.

Which leads me to believe that the Starkiller in Force Unleashed 2 was the real Starkiller. And the clone in Force Unleashed 1 was… well a clone that replaced Starkiller after Vader threw em out the window into space.

Of course I DO have a few theories.

The Real Starkiller is actually evil and Vader's been training him in secret while relying on clones of Starkiller to throw off the Emperor's suspicions in case he found out Vader was training an apprentice.

If the Emperor did suspect anyone, it would be the Starkiller clone, the fall guy.

The other theory, as said above, is that the Starkiller in 1, after being thrown out into space, is actually a clone while the real one was undergoing healing. (and also brainwashing on Vader's part.)

uh, what? there was no clone in tfu 1. when he got thrown out, he was brought back and revived.

the starkiller in tfu2 is a cloned body, but the essence and soul of the real starkiller may have drifted into it, there's no confirmation of it.

i do like your theory that after being thrown into space, the one we follow is a doppelganger. it would make sense, but it would reach like mgs 4/5 levels of twist.

I think his main drive to keep living was the hope that one day he could formulate a plan to overthrow the Emperor and rule the Galaxy on his own, he was just waiting for the pieces to come together and he finally got that when Luke came along.
