In my personal canon I preferred that they remain non-canon. I always thought some of the things they did were unnecessary, like killing Chewbacca. I also never liked Dac's destruction. What a frustrating issue. Naturally I give much more weight to the EU over the NEU, but if nothing more is going to happen in the Legends timeline, that seems to indicate I'll be forced to jump on board the Disney train eventually.

I've stopped caring about Star Wars for the most part. It depresses me to even see some of the pre-Disney films any more. I look back and realize we've spent over a decade on the Clone Wars, writing stories and fleshing out characters that will never be looked at in a decent light. I realized when I saw shit like the Dark Horse comics writing garbage to be as edgy as possible that we've allowed too many lightsabers on the screen and page.
The Force Unleashed made me realize that's where shit was heading, normie-ville with as much DBZ-tier shit as possible. We got to a point as a massive universe that on one hand, we had these autistic fucking writers and fanboys turning Star Wars into a 40k-lite setting, and then on the other we have Disney's well known SJW-verse. Both are equally shit.
All good things must come to an end, though. It's been over for me, I'll replay/re-read certain things but it's like looking at old photographs; I'm simply looking at a captured moment from a bygone era of Star Wars, one that couldn't last forever.

The nerd-vogue phenomenon killed many things and Star Wars was inevitable. I don't know if it will ever recover but I hope some fans that remember the particular aesthetic of our fondly remembered times and a sense of responsibility work on the series again.
Star Wars means so much to many of us, I'm sure. We dedicate ourselves to learning the difference between Makashi and Soresu, and other autistic facts such as ships and the fictional companies that make them. I hope something happens to Disney or Star Wars that's terrible for the mainstream.
