 No.4502

how did you used to handle some of the old EU contradictions? stuff like jedi having famillies or prety much anything related to the clone wars?

 No.4503

Luke's order was different than the Old Jedi Order in numerous ways and this was always emphasis, having families in the New Jedi Order made a lot of sense. They needed to increase their ranks and having babies was basically a guaranteed way to do that. Jedi in the new order also generally started training at a far older age than they did in the old one, some of them already had families when they started.

As for the Clone Wars, easy to ignore anything related to that, most people knew better than to bother touching that idea.

i was talking more about stuff like in "children of the jedi" that entire book is based on the concept that several jedi took their families to some planet to protect them from the purge, Luke“s new order is also formed by many jedi descendents

Same way that every other anon deals with shit like that.

Have an autistic bitch fit about it.

I never considered anything made by George Lucas from 1999 onwards canon.

Dorsk 81

that's all i need to say

 No.4517

>>4504

Even the current canon doesn't care about contradictions.

Luke is meant to be the last Jedi and their final hope but now Ezra, Kanan, Ahsoka and all those Inquisitors are running around the galaxy.

I was a TF.N Fleet Junkie…so we spend hundreds of thread pages hashing out shit, then we pissed of Traviss…twas fun.

 No.4522

>>4517

Wouldn't be surprised if they killed off Kanan and Ahsoka by the time Rebels finished, but Ezra I can't see them doing that with. Maybe there was something to Vader's boasting? That maybe he isn't very strong in the force at all, and Kanan's attempts to train him were just misplayed wishful thinking? Lets also not forget that the show has outright stated that Kanan was not exactly a great Jedi either.

 No.4527

>>4522

The fact that lando knows them is also a problem with how things are, if they are alive by the time of Rotj im surprised he never said "hey, i know there are other jedi around maybe they can help us"

 No.4528

>>4522

I dont think they would dare to end the show on such a dark note… its a kids show after all

 No.4529

>>4527

Does Lando know? Don't recall them using their sabers or any force powers in that episode.

 No.4530

Thinking back.. I dont think so, but its not imposible for him to find out sooner or later if he keeps showing up

 No.4531

>>4528

the show should have just been about a young wedge and other rebels. Leave the Jedi out of it. Ashoka makes sense though

 No.4553

Fuck the prequels.

As someone who's read some of the shit in her novels, my thanks, Anon for making her shit herself in rage. I salute you.

What's the story here? I read somewhere that Traviss quit over "creative differences" or something like that. Was Traviss the one who wrote books about Mandalorians or am I thinking of someone else?

one of her biggest reasons for quitting was that the clone wars tv show would make her novels redundant.

bitch is lucky the deltas even got featured in the show at all, her shit was already non-canon to begin with.

she was also pissed because the mandalorian language that she helped develop also kinda just went out the window.

of course, if you ask any mandalorian cosplayer, they will still use her alphabet and language rules, so really she just blew shit out of proportion like any other woman.

also she's old, ugly and didn't get any dick for being a semi-known writer.

Well, simply put, to think that the Jedi were utterly infallible, or that they all adhered to their code 100%, is naive and the exact kind of thinking that led to the downfall of the Jedi Order to begin with.

I guarantee you that Anakin was not the only Jedi getting pussy (or dick, as the case may be) behind closed doors. Hell, even Ki-Adi-Mundi was married and having kids- though he went and got special permission.

Anakin was the only one to have a Horus-Heresy tier shit-fit over the mere THOUGHT losing his precious main squeeze, and subsequently start killing people.

 No.8256

>>8252

Yeah, this.

Obi Wan doesn't seem to care at all about Anakin being married, and you see it with Anakin's logic: 'actually, we are encouraged to love.' My head-canon is almost all the Jedi are married or in relationships.

The Jedi probably have a no-sex ideal, but the reality is they marry and have children. Maybe it's just expected to be kept on the down-low.

Lucas only introduced the idea they couldn't marry because he wanted a 'secret forbidden marriage' for Anakin and Padme.

 No.8267

>>8256

I seem to recall in the Ep III novel that Obi-Wan knew, but wasn't about to jeopardize Anakin's position in the order.

 No.8271

>>4504

There have been popes with kids.

 No.8277

The galaxy is… that, a motherfucking huge galaxy, so any stray Jedi isn't the end of the world. Luke was the last of the jedi by OB1 and Yoda's knowledge. Simply as that.

>prety much anything related to the clone wars?

Do you mean the stuff related to the prequel era mentioned vaguely in the 90s EU (e.g. the Clone Wars happened 40 years ago, the Jedi were fighting the clones and the clones were the bad guys, "Chancellor Palpatine" was "President Palpatine", Luke and Leia are 20 and not 19, etc.)?

Apparently that stuff was part of Lucas' original plan for the prequels, but he randomly decided to change it later on.

 No.8576

>>4507

just what exactly am i looking at?

 No.8676

The great thing about the old EU was that, while the quality of the different stories varied a lot, you could essentially just choose what you consider canon and what not, and that's what I did.

Who else noticed that the "Legends" tab is now the default on wookiepedia btw? Very nice!
