I hate Jedi Academy. I've just started playing it and holy fuck I didnt think i would dislike it this much. Im playing on the hardest difficulty like i usually do and its nearly impossible. The movement is spastic and annoying, the guns are inaccurate as fuck and weak and most are terrible for long range. The force powers kill slow as shit and there isnt much use in using them at all. The lightsaber is the only weapon worthy of using but he swings it like a retard and if you miss the first slash which you probably will since you move so goddamn dumb then you get hurt a fuck ton. Oh, and it annoys me that you dont have the option to go first person with the lightsaber. The cutscenes are unskippable too. This game doesnt seem to have any of the grit as the jedi outcast games as well. Now, ive just started this shit so maybe the aspects that are able to change will change but the mechanics are fucking retarded and that cant even really be changed. Multiplayer is fucked and boring as shit too

guns are fine, you should try aiming

combo choke + push over a ledge or into a high spot

use yellow stance, it isn't too slow or too fast

literally the only thing you've written here that actually stands is that jedi outcast is a better game

I honestly prefer "red" or strong stance. You just break through most defences and knock peoples on their asses. Or you can jump on top of their heads and pretend you are playing Mario. That or you can just cheese a double bladed lightsaber.

Going back to Jedi Knight series though, I don't think these games are as good as I used to think. Lightsaber combat really is down to luck rather than skill at times and I find myself getting bored easily.

Why the fuck isnt movie battles 2 showing up in the jedi academy mod menu? Ive got it on steam so i put it in C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Jedi Academy/GameData and changed the launch option to +set fs_game "MBII"

I tried the launch option with and without the quotation marks. goddamn this shits retarded

The gameplay was ok. The plot and writing, specially the dark side path, was lame.

Jaden just feel to the dark side just like that and them "duurr hurr power, the scepter is mine, i take a star destroyer, i'm part of the empire now"

Even the killing of the other guy, the one who betrayed you, was badly written.

Eh, I liked it. I had a lot of fun playing through it, and out of any other game I've played, it definitely captured the feel of being a Jedi the best. Not saying perfectly, but better than most.
