What went wrong?

 No.8420

He tried to bring balance to the force.

 No.8422

Nothing, actually. He got out at the right time.

Too much control.

George's work was amazing in the Prequels because he did his part like he should have and he let everyone do their jobs, not to mention that some people were hierarchically superior to him at the time.

In the prequels, he had too much control, it got out of hand. People who could have helped him flesh out his visions and ideas in a different (and perhaps better) way did nothing, some out of fear, others out of failure to be heard by George.

The guy may be not that bad, but he had become very self centred over the years. He barely listens to the pleas of the fans, no matter what side they may take. Georges just does his thing for his own pleasure and doesn't consider Star Wars still remains the work of thousands and thousands of people.

People say Lucas is in for the money, obviously, but I can't shake the feeling his passion to meddle in "his" Universe overcame the monetization. Notoriously the way he prophecies Jar Jar in the Phantom Menace featurettes, you can feel the passion of his character coming to life. Jar Jar is still to this day George's favourite character.

TL;DR: Too much control from an otherworldly urge to play god in a collective work as if he built it all by himself.

A combination of what you said and just George becoming a retard.

Hold the fuck up, is that the same Lucas that brought midichlorians in the whole clusterfuck ?

To be fair? I would have done the same. My universe, my rules.

And fans are stupid btw. They have no purpose in the world.

>>8429

That was stupid. To teach people you need experience. You don't turn into a karate master by just observing it.

Kasdan was right.

IIRC Yoda didn't teach Luke how to fight.

 No.8447

>>8445

Because he was old as fuck. In the prequels he was already showing fatigue during the fight scenes.

 No.8459

this

literally yoda even says it

>when 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not

yoda obviously had his fighting days but he was already at least 850 years old by the time the prequels roll around, fighting was his last option as it clearly drained him in his duels with dooku and sheev.

he was the mr. miyagi of star wars and larry kasdan couldn't wrap his dipshit head around it. furthermore, who does kasdan think he is to tell the creator what goes? you can see that marquand gets it (rip based director) and kershner got it as well (also rip based director). this is why we got midichlorians, this was lucas' intention all along. obi-wan states that the force is an energy that binds the universe together, never is it specifically stated that only certain people can tap into it, the idea of "force-sensitive" was brought along in the eu. shit, at first we're given the idea that luke is an ordinary nobody (and it clearly shows), and it takes teaching to realize his potential. the jedi were literally knights, they focused their lifestyle on using these abilities to do justice in the galaxy, otherwise they would be hobos on their backwater planets, fucking their cousins like any other old cuntrag.
