Thoughts on JJ Abrams?

Did you liked Star Trek?

Who you wanted to direct Force Awakens?

I think JJ did poorly with Star Trek because he had to make it exciting and actiony for an new audience. Many Trek fans did not like that, for Star Trek was more of adventure with crew to discover new things than the actiony scifi JJ released.

I think, because of this, he is going to do decent with Star Wars, his trek film was more like Star Wars than trek. The only thing that bothers me is the cuckening, but im not 100 percent /pol/ so it wont completely ruin the movie for me

Jew and a faggot that only ever banks on nostalgia in a way that makes his films feel like they were made by a skin walker.

TOS? Yes. TNG tv? Yes. 2009 movie? no. Star Trek: Into Reference? no

Moot question in my eyes, there shouldn't even be a new Star Wars movie.

I have a feeeling JJ is just an idea guy that has a very nice special effects department backing him. Super 8 was pretentious trash, same goes for Fringe, Lost, and every other thing he put his greasy hands on.

Well he already turned Star Trek into Star Wars so who knows? Maybe he'll turn Star Wars into Star Trek?

I liked the first Star Trek, but the second was really bad. I hated having Benedict Cumberbachtlshd as Khan, I hated the silly Kirk death, I hated the plot.

It was all shit and I think less of the first movie having seen the second one.

So I'm not sure what to expect. Hopefully it isn't the leftwing political shitfest that /pol/ thinks it is.

i enjoyed the trek reboots

don't get me wrong, i know they're piss poor trek films (1, 3 and 4 are the best out of all of them but that goes without saying), but i still enjoyed them. that being said, abrams would have never been my consideration for directing the film. as much as i would love to see someone like spielberg direct, he wouldn't do it since he's friends with lucas and refused directing jobs before with star wars, even if these are no longer "george's movies." honestly i can't even think of a director who would really be able to take on the job, i try to look at other directors and think that they're either too shitty or too good to handle something like star wars, there aren't really many in-between guys like lucas. maybe… jon favreau. he might be able to get the job done.

jesus christ is that photoshopped? it looks like the people are walking on a green screen and there's just a set exploding behind them. also, blame trek's writing on the writers, orci and kurtzman have a knack for kicking out all the interesting things in sci-fi (see transformers, cowboys & aliens) and instead focusing on action and tits because it sells.

Agree with everything here except that I think the first episode of Lost (the one he worked on) was the last good one in the series.
