i enjoyed the trek reboots
don't get me wrong, i know they're piss poor trek films (1, 3 and 4 are the best out of all of them but that goes without saying), but i still enjoyed them. that being said, abrams would have never been my consideration for directing the film. as much as i would love to see someone like spielberg direct, he wouldn't do it since he's friends with lucas and refused directing jobs before with star wars, even if these are no longer "george's movies." honestly i can't even think of a director who would really be able to take on the job, i try to look at other directors and think that they're either too shitty or too good to handle something like star wars, there aren't really many in-between guys like lucas. maybe… jon favreau. he might be able to get the job done.

jesus christ is that photoshopped? it looks like the people are walking on a green screen and there's just a set exploding behind them. also, blame trek's writing on the writers, orci and kurtzman have a knack for kicking out all the interesting things in sci-fi (see transformers, cowboys & aliens) and instead focusing on action and tits because it sells.
