Story-wise, yeah. Everyone in ShtH wasn't a one-note stereotype. But on the terms of gameplay, it's pretty much the same minus the gimmicks they each had; Shadow with his guns and SH with the 2 extra partners.

I agree. The controls were much better and they stripped out most of the annoying mechanics from heroes. Although it would have benefited from the ability to aim or lock on.

If the whole game was more like the unlockable expert mode I think people would have liked it a lot more.

Missions were too boring.

I dunno I had a lot more fond memories playing Sonic Heroes than Shadow.

I cannot for the life of me stand Shadow the hedgehog. Perhaps it's the goofyness of the edge or the out of place cursing. Everyone is somehow at their peak levels of annoying and unlikable in Shadow vs being borderline but tolerable in Heroes.

I find Heroes level design, gameplay, and music to far exceed ShtH. I cannot fathom how people think this game is good let alone average.

Yeah, I agree. The only plus by comparison is that ShtH has more or a " story ", (I use the word story very loosely here), but is shit at everything else.

Shadow himself had some potential, but Sega over did it with ShtH and made look just as over-the-top as the rest of the Sonic crew. Hell, for some fans think Shadow being cartoonishly edgy as a funny thing. Though that doesn't really help.

Neither game is that great, but it's not better than heroes. It has some good idea, but the execution is piss poor. The exploration focused levels are way too big for their own good, and when replaying it with friends recently we found we had to play it in shifts because the camera was making us so sick.
