Welcome to the third thread of The Ravaging of Osla!

So far in the story, you have played as a young warrior named Sophia, whose goal is to go out into the world and become a great hero. You live in the country Osla, which is covered in a wide variety of monsters, beasts, and dangerous entities. Lately, one of the greatest threats to the country that you've heard of is the disease Corruption. You have a partner, Elise, who is an alchemist. In your first day together, you took down a den of wizards, while she was raped. Currently, the two of you are on somewhat tense footing because of it. You are in a swamp right now, searching for ingredients for a witch so she can tutor Elise in potion making.

Enjoy the story, and as always, let me know if you have any requests, complaints, or advice.

Deciding that the best method is to walk directly into the stretchshroom patch, you steel yourself for what you're about to do. You don't know anything about these mushrooms, or what they do, so it's probably best not to cut into them; It might make them angry. You don't want to risk angering them, so you act nonagressively. You carefully venture into the patch of stretchshrroms, and as you do some of their caps begin tilting towards your and brushing at your ankles. They don't seem like they're hurting you, thouhg, just investigating.

It only takes you three careful steps to reach the center while avoiding stepping on any mushrooms. The biggest ones stand here, and they are about a foot high. You aren't sure how many you need, so you decide to just take as many as you can grab.

You open your magic satchel, which is currently empty, and grasp a ahndful of stretchshrooms by the stem. They're surprisingly warm, and very firm. You plant your feet into the ground, and pull as hard as you can, drawing out five whole stretchshrooms.

As soon as you do this, the others in the patch appear to become agitated. They begin flailing around or bending towards you aggressively, while the ones at your feet press firmly against you. It seems as though they're trying to hold you in place, but there aren't enough of them to do so successfully yet.

a) Take a few more of them, in case five isn't enough
b) Cut the ones at your feet
c) Try to run out

Well hey there She-HulkYou realize that these mushrooms must be valuable, if the witch can use them for potions, so you decide to collect more. You reach out a bit further, and wrap your hands around another clump of the phallic stretchshrooms. They resist you at first, there seems to be something holding them in the ground. You, however, are a warrior, and as such possess the strength of five men! Or at least, you will one day.

Suddenly, with a satisfying squelch, the handful of stretchshrooms pops out of the ground. Others around you continue to press against your legs, with even more force, and ones that can't reach you start lengthening and moving their caps towards you, but this does not matter as of now. At the bottom of the stretchshrooms hangs an odd, screaming growth. In but a moment, you realize that you have dug up a gnome! Foul creatures, gnomes live underground and often keep to themselves, though they have been known to abduct women and involve them in activities that people prefer not to speak about.

However, despite their slightly menacing reputation, this one does not seem to be very intimidating. It screams constantly , curled up in a ball while holding onto the mushrooms. Its body is nearly spherical, with only a small lump for a head, and thin arms and legs. It is pasty white, and somewhat flabby.

"AHHHH!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!" it screams, swinging around. "Don't hurt me! DON'T HURT ME PLEASE!"

You wonder what this gnome is on about. "What are you talking about?!" You yell over its screaming.

It stops when it hears you say this, and opens its eyes to look at you. "You mean- you mean Ingrith didn't send you after me?"

"No, she sent me after these mushrooms," You reply, shaking the ones you're holding as the ones at your feet continue to press up, and more come to hold your calfs in place.

The gnome shivers, before uncurling. "Ah. Well, that's good. I'll just be on my way, then."

"Hold up," You say in a demanding voice, grabbing the gnome with one hand, and dropping the mushrooms in your bag with the other. You draw your silver dagger from the back of your belt, and, as you hold the gnome in the air by a leg, press the point into his nose. "Why are you afraid of Ingrith?" You demand.

"AAAGGGGHHH! NO! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"

"I'm not going to kill you," you say, as you press the knife slightly into him. "As long as you tell me what I want to know." A drop of dark green blood rolls down the gnome's face.

"Fine! Fine! I was her assistant! I ran, because she decided she needed one of my- one of my-" The dwarf breaks down in tears as you stand bewildered as the mushrooms continue to creep slowly up to your knees.

"One of your what?!" You demand.

"My stones, numbskull!" He screams out as snot, tears, and a little blood drip across his forehead.

Registering that the witch is apparently not as kind as you had thought, you press your knife slightly harder into the gnome. "Is she dangerous?" You ask.

"To me?! Very!" The gnome screams. "To you? I don't know, maybe?! She used to let people test potions, some people got stuff out of it like being able to stretch out their bodies, use them as whips. Others got cursed! Stuff like, one guy came in a pretty famous adventurer, and came out with tits bigger than yours and a permanent stiffy! I don't know if she does it on purpose or it's honest testing, but she could definitely give you a real good, or a real bad time!"

"Now you listen to me, little gnome," you say as menacingly as you can. "I'm about to let you go, and when I do, you're going to help me. Not run. Not hide. You're going to be my bitch. You're going to rip these stretchshrooms off me, and you're going to help me gather the rest of the plants I need. Then, perhaps, I will not kill you, or give you to the witch. Do you understand?"

The gnome scoffs at you, and crosses his arms in front of him. "Please. If you don't let me go right now, if you harm me, I will get my revenge, and you'll regret ever messing with me."

You lean in close to the gnome. "Yes, that would be an issue, if not for the fact that when I injure you, it will be so severe I will need not fear your vengeance."

The gnome is silent for a moment, considers what you have just said, and then replies properly, "So, how about some help with those stretchshrooms?"

You drop the gnome, who makes an unpleasant squishing sound as he lands on his head, and immediatley starts running around freeing up your legs. You do the same, and reach down to rip out the strechshrooms that are assaulting you. After a couple tense minutes, you have fifteen of the stretchshrooms in your bag, and an unwilling sidekick.

Which plant do you wish to go after next?

"Come on, gnome. I need to get some covermoss next," You demand, stepping free of the stretchshroom patch. The gnome nods solemnly.

"Yeah, yeah, I know where we can get some of that. Follow me." The small spherical being waddles off into the marsh, and you quickly follow.

Several times throughout the brief walk, the gnome tries to make conversation. He tells you that his name is Ibgab, and that he was raised by the witch. She, when she was younger, often harvested ingredients for potions from whatever traveler came through before testing it on them, but in more recent years she's mellowed out and started giving people the choice.

"But her logic for me is, you know, I'm not a traveller, I'm planning to stay in the swamp my entire life, I never really helped her despite her raising me, I drowned her puppy once, gnomes are hard to come by, a guy can live without both his testes… you know, crazy talk. So I ran. Anyway, here we are." He points to a small patch of eartgh coming out of the water that has a layer of green moss covering it. It looks like totally ordiary moss.

"Well, you gonna go sister? I'm not touching that stuff, it gives me the heebie jeebies." The gnome complains.

"Why won't you touch it?" You ask, wondering what kind of danger you're in.

"Because it's fucking covermoss! Dangerous shit, that. I never stick around to see what it actually does, but it gets on something, then spreads to cover the entire thing. I'm not sure what it does, but last time I saw it get on a humanoid, they were screaming before I was a hundred feet away!" The gnome rants. It's very clear that covermoss terrifies him, though you haven't gotten any real answers about the danger of it.

Still, you're wearing skintight armor, the only places it could hurt you are your lower face and your upper arms. But maybe that's enough for it; perhaps you should deal with this carefully.

Deciding that you would have to proceed with caution, and not wanting to lose any of your equipment, you root around in the muddy water that surrounds you until you find a thin but long stick. You grip it tightly by ine end, inch towards the moss covered patch of earth, and press the wavering end of the wet wood up against it.

The moss immediately forms a clenching grip around the tip of the stick. You have no doubt that you could pull it free, moss isn't very strong, but you let go of your end of the stick for science. You watch as your end drops into the water, but the end on the moss sticks in place. Meanwhile, the moss has begun spreading up the length of the stick, covering it at about two inches every second. After a brief thirty seconds, your stick is totally covered in the green moss, and you realize that this life form is much more dangerous than the stretchshrooms. You still aren't sure what it does to organic matter though.

"See. I told ya." Ibgab berates you. "Dangerous."

a) Use your hands to pick it up
b) Try to get it with a long enough stick and drop it in the bag

You consider what you've just seen. and think over possible courses of action. You could, of course, do the brave, warrior thing, and fight the moss into submission, but it would be a dangerous waste of energy. Besides, who says warriors aren't allowed to use logic, or be intelligent.

You prod around in the sludge for another stick, and when you finally fine a suitable one. you hand Ibgab your bag. "Hold this open," you order, and he fearfully does so.

You approach the moss, and carefully extend the stick across the murky water between you. The second you make contact, you see moss growing around the edge of the stick, and whip around. Ibgab screams as you swing the stick at him, but holds still, letting you drop the quickly engulfed stick into the bag. The moss had gotten near your hand; it was lucky you had worked quickly.

"Perfume flowers are the last thing," you sternly inform Ibgab.

The gnome's small face lights up in a smile. "Perfume flowers! Love those! They can be used to make perfume!"

You sigh, refraining from commenting on the gnomes obvious announcement. You follow Ibgab through the swamp one again, though you quickly smell the flowers you're looking for. You follow your nose from there, and happen across a gathering of small purple flowers. They smell incredibly strong, and very sweet; it's all you can do to not drive your face into the pile of them right off the bat.

Having information had helped last time, you saw no reason that it wouldn't help this time. "What can these flowers be used for?" You inquire, turning to face the small knobby gnome.

"Oh, these? They're pretty harmless, girls use them because they smell so good that it just kind of draws attention really easily. Other than that? I've heard all sorts of claims, I don't believe most of them. I've heard they can latch onto your nipples and suck you dry, I've heard that they're a sort of parasite, and when they get too close to someone it'll start controlling their mind, I've heard all sorts of shit honestly. You can't ever really be sure what to believe."

You nod. The smell of the flowers is incredibly strong, and it is slowly permeating your body. You understand why it's used for perfume, it makes you feel weak at the knees just being nearby.

This should be your job. You can't think of any reason to make Ibgab do it; They're just flowers, after all. You start to move toward the patch of flowers, as the murky water flows around your thighs. You have to fight your way through it, and though your armor doesn't let any water in, the sheer disgust this swamp fills you with makes you want to flee. You, though, will not be bested by a bad smell.

As you fight your way through to the flowers, their scent grows stronger and stronger. You wonder why people use them for perfume; They're in a disgusting area, an hard to get, and they don't even smell good enough to make up for the struggle. Still, you're getting Elise some actual skills out of this, it'll be good to have a partner who can fight. You continue to fight through the swamp, until you finally are within grabbing distance of the flowers.

You reach out, and grab a bunch of flowers, dropping them in your bag. Surprisingly, nothing happens. You shrug, as you had expected a fight, and head back over to Ibgab. "So, I was wondering, why do people use this stuff? It's not really worth the effort of getting it," You ask.

"Oh, that? It's not really about the smell, it's about the chemicals. See, it lets off this stuff that attracts males of certain species, it's like a mating call, see? It's not used for the smell, no one likes the smell."

At this, you hear a snarl behind you spin to see a Yuan-Ti approaching! Dangerous creatures, they are a form of snakeman, that is a snake from the waist down, but human from the waist up. You see, though, that it has slit eyes, and the fangs of a snake. Unfortunately, it has the apparatus of a human, and you notice that it's very gifted. You find yourself almost curious about how it would feel, but shake your head, drawing your sword. Ibgab screams, and you hear the gnome burrow into the ground behind you. You are in this fight alone.

Seeing how quickly the beast moves through the murky water, you know that you don't have much of a chance in a fair fight. You'll have to win by a way other that swiging your sword wildly. You glace around wildly, looking for a weapon, when it hits you: The covermoss. Ibgab had said it was incredibly dangerous, it should be able to help you. You draw your sword from its sheathe, ad begin backing up, tauning the Yuan-Ti.

"Come on! Come on, you dirty fucking reptile!" you yell at the confused Yuan-Ti, that had thought it had found a prospective mate. "I'll make you into a handbag!" You keep your sword up as yu keep backng up. You know the route back so perfectly you don't even need to look, you just lead the beast along, keeping your sword to its eyes.

The Yuan-Ti refuses to stop chasing you, it seems determined to have you as a mate, so you walk backwards, until you near the rock that you know the covermoss in on. Then, as you prepare to lead the snakeman into it, you step in a ditch in the mud, and slip, your legs flying out from under you. You fall chest deep into the dirty water, and the Yuan-Ti takes this chance to dart forward.

a) Stab it
b) Dodge, let it run into the covermoss

You wait as the Yuan-Ti charges, holding completely still as it glides quickly through the water. As it draws near, you breathe deep, trying to stay calm, untl the last possible moment. As the snakeman reaches for you, sinewy arms fully extended, fangs dripping with poison bared, you duck and dodge to the side, yanking your fot out of the ground and diving away as the beast barrels past you. It roars as it fails to slow down in time, and crashes into the covermoss.

You watch, waiting to see the effects of the covermoss, though your hopes at an easy victory are dashed as the Yuan-Ti rises. You think at first that it may be immune to the moss, but as it turns to face you, you see the moss spreading slowly across its chest. It seems to act slower on the beast than it did on your sticks, but the beast appears to be nervous and frightened of it. IT refrains from scratching it, for obvious reasons, but it looks like if you can avoid getting hit for long enough, this is your battle! Though, of course, if you get too close, you've simply given the Yuan-Ti an extra weapon. You'll have to be careful not to touch it.

You take a stance n the disgusting water, and ready your sword, prepared for the beast's next charge.

a) Stab a non-afflicted area
b) Wait for it to attack you, go on defense
c) Just dodge

The Yuan-Ti darts forward, grasping for you with scaled, muscular arms once again. You tense, and once again attempt to dart out of the way as it goes to grab you. However, as you push to the right through the water, your foot slips, causing you to fall to your knees in the water. You struggle to stand, but as you thrash against the mud, you find that you only become more stuck. Then, hearing a hiss bear down on you, you look up just in time to see the Yuan-Ti about to collide with you. You bend, as far as your body allows, but fail to avoid this contact, letting the snakeman to wrap you up in his strong arms.

As your face presses against his chest, you feel a sudden tingling against your chest. You struggle to lean your head back, and look down, but are overcome with terror as you do. The covermoss, which now covers his entire lower torso and is creeping onto the beast's back, has begun to spread to you. Luckily, your armor prevents it from exerting its power on you as it would on your skin, and you only feel a warmth from it, but you know you must break out of this trap before it spreads to cover you. The pressure you feel on your stomach from the Yuan-Ti's cock gives you some idea of its effects, along with a very good idea of how gifted this beast is. You find yourself fantasizing for a brief moment about letting the beast have its way with you, but your mind quickly snaps back to how dire this situation is as you feel movement in the beast.

The snakeman curls over, and moves its face close to yours. You fear it is about to kiss you, but suddenly, the beast snarls, and moves ever closer, mouth wide. You see in the gaping mouth of the creature two slender, impossibly sharp fangs that appear to be dripping with an unidentifiable substance. You find out quite quickly, though, as the Yuan-Ti moves its mouth down, and brushes your hair to the side, exposing your upper arm, one of the only parts of you that your armor doesn't cover. A design flaw, that, arms are pretty important. You should speak to your blacksmith about getting more functional armor.

The beast's fangs pres into your skin, and you feel a twinge of pain as they press through you, breaking your skin and letting their venom begin to flow through you. At first, you feel nothing, but then, after but a brief minute, as the venom reaches your brain, you feel an explosion of lust throughout your body. You gasp, allowing an unvoluntary moan to come out of your throat, and your tight snatch begins to loosen as the now venom-controlled part of your mind tries to cause you to submit to the Yuan-Ti, to let it ravage you here in the swamp.

a) Try to stab the Yuan-Ti
b) Try to struggle free from the mud

You struggle to create a gap between yourself and the Yuan-Ti, any way that you can fight it at all. It holds you incredibly tight, and you find yourself struggling to even breathe. Knowing that despite being able to hold a lot of air, this is a dangerous situation, you decide that you are going to break out of this things grasp before anything else can happen. The moss you can deal with, the Yuan -Ti you can kill, the venom you can focus through, but you need to be able to move, and be conscious for all of them

You lean back, trying to make space between yourself and the snakeman, and keep your face away from the steadily rising green fuzz that covers the pale green torso in front of you. You realize that somehow, throughout all of this, you have somehow kept a loose grip on your sword, and decide on your way to get this beast away from you. You pull the sword into a tight grip, ensuring that you won't drop it, and attempt to stab the beast. Unfortunately, with much of your arm pinned beneathe his own, you find it near impossible to get your sword into a place where you can cut him. You come to the realization that you will have to put yourself at risk to be rewarded in this situation, and steel yourself for your attack. When you're ready, you start trying to wriggle and squirm, and do anything you can to get your sword arm out of the clenching grip of the Yuan-Ti. After only a brief struggle, though, you have drawn out your weapon.

In but a moment, the Yuan-Ti's arms snap shut, tight around your torso, taking up the space your arm had been. You gasp at the force of this, and know that if you hadn't been wearing armor, you would have just broken several ribs.Still, you are lucky to still be functioning, with a sword you can use. You swing this sword out to the side, and enjoy its familiar momentum as it glides smoothly through the dark air. Then, you bring it back down, and bury the sword into the shoulder of the snakeman. Unfortunately, the beast's touch skin prevented it from taking much damage, but you are successful in that the beast rears back in pain, letting you go as a small fountain of blood bursts forth. You immediately dart back, and quickly catch your breath. The covermoss now has spread across much of your chest and is moving down to your stomach, while the Yuan-Ti's entire stomach, most of its lower back, and the lower half of its chest are covered.

As the Yuan-Ti creeps forward once again, you briefly consider fighting, or just dodging it until it wears itself out. Then, you notice a change in the snakeman's attacks. Before it had been barreling wildly into you, simply using pure force to try to dominate you. Now, though, a change has fallen over it. Instead of charging directly at you, the beast slithers forward slowly, weaving from side to side in the water. It appears to have realized that you're more agile than one would expect, and wants to make sure it can grab a hold of you, because it is much stronger than you are, and would easily be able to keep you from breaking free.

Realizing that this is the Yuan-Ti's new strategy, you form a new one of your own: Run. You turn tail and flee through the thick, dark, warm, buzzing air as the beast roars behind you, and you hear it begin to give chase. The chase draws you deeper into the murky swamp, and you realize that you are drawing close to Ingrith's hut. The snakeman continues to roar and hiss behind you as you run, but you hear a slightly deeper, more guttural aspect to it now, almost as though it is moaning. You resolve not to let this change distract you, though, and dash through the swamp, leaving the Yuan-Ti far behind.

As you begin to run out of breath, you dart off the path you had been on, and slide behind a tree, taking a moment to catch your breath. You look down at yourself, and realize that the covermoss must not be intended to move at high speeds; You had gone so fast that much of what had been on your torso has flaked off, you now only have a small patch on your belly. It starts spreading again, but is now much slower than it was, and is not a legitimate threat.

The Yuan-Ti was not as lucky as you, fortunately. It moved much more slowly, and only now reaches where you hid behind the tree. It stops, looking around as though confused. It must know you're here, though it obviously can't tell where exactly you are, just that you're in its vicinity. The covermoss on it has spread to cover its entire torso, and is moving down its arms and up its neck. You also notice that the moss has begun secreting a clear fluid, and that the snakeman has a massive erection that is dribbling precum. It huffs and gasps, breathing deeply and letting husky moans escape its throat.

b) Charge out and kill it

You breathe shakily at first, terrified that the beast will find you at any moment. then, as a ragged breath leaves your mouth, the Yuan-Ti perks up. It may have heard you! You clasp a hand over your mouth, and hold your breath. The snakeman looks around, it definitely heard something, but it doesn't know where you are. You allow yourself to breathe again, but make sure you are being silent and steady.

After several tense minutes of the beast looking around, it hasn't found you and seems stressed. The covermoss has spread across nearly all of its body above the water, with only a small patch of its face clear. The beast's dick is entirely sheathed in the green fuzz, and you can see its erection hasn't gone down a bit. Every several seconds, the moss there pulses, and you quickly realize the moss is causing the beast to slowly pump out cum! The Yuan-Ti's guttural moans smply don't stop, and it appears to be looking for you for a way of release than a mate at this point. You. however, stay hidden, and after a short time. the beast roars, and slithers off, probably to either find a mate, or collapse in an heap of pleasure.

You breath a sigh of relief, before looking down at yourself and realizing what danger your wait has put you in. The covermoss on you has now spread to cover your breasts once again, and is moving to cover your arms and belly. It also begins moving up your neck, towards your face. It has paused, though, not moving to your back. It seems to be stopped on the clasps holding your breastplate on.

bb021d No.17967

C Wins overwhelmingly

Realizing you would likely not make it to the witch's hut in time, before the moss got under your breastplate, you had to make a tough decision, but you knew it had to be made. You carefully moved your arms up, and grabbed the clasps of your breastplate without touching the moss. You slowly undo them, making sure to keep far away from the moss, and as soon as you hear a slight click, and a sliding noise, the breastplate falls off your body, disappearing into the murky swamp. It's a shame that you've lost it, but you'll be able to get a new one, and you won't become a slave to the marsh at least. Somewhat dissatisfied with your decision, you roll your shoulders back, and sheathe your sword. Your upper body is cold, now that you only have your tube top to cover you, and you decide that you'll need specialized clothing if you're going to go anywhere more extreme than this.

You now have all the plants you needed, so you make your way through the dark swamp to Ingrith's hut. The sky is starting to lighten slightly, and you can see through the swamp a bit more than before. This makes it easier to traverse the waters, and you make your way back easily. When you reach the hut, Ingrith and Elise are sitting next to a pot, with something boiling inside. You approach, and hear them talking.

"So, when you add the ground peppers to the lizardwort, does that affect anything other than the flavor of the potion?" Elise asks.

"Mhm," Ingrith replies. "when that all gets nice and boiled together, makes a good substitute for dragonwort, mhm." She spins, and looks you in the eyes. "You back, girlie! Got my planties?"

You stare at her incredulously. "You said you needed these to teach her anything! Why have you already started making potions?!" You demand, furious that the witch made you risk your life for no apparent reason.

The witch laughs. "Oh, girlie, I could teach this one at any time! I just needed some ingredients, andyou seemed like good labor, mhm. Now, gimme!" She grabs your back, and dumps the contents into a pot to the side, then slams a cover over the top to prevent the covermoss rom escaping. Elise turns to you.

"Hey Sophia! Where's your breastplate?" She seems less angry than she had been last night. Elise appears to be fairly easygoing, and forgiving.

"Lost it, looking for the plants," You reply.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Well, Ingrith taught me how to make a new type of potion, I can throw it into things' eyes to make them start crying, and basically blind them. Pretty cool, right?"

You nod, happy that Elise is getting more skilled, then turn to the witch. You remember, you came out here for a reason.

Sorry for not checking in yesterday, I've been busy.

"Oh, by the way, I was wondering, could I try one of your potions?" You ask the witch. She looks surprised, then grins happily.

"Of course now girlie! Mhm, I'mma go grab you a good little potion." She stands, and shuffles over to the small table.

Elise laughs. "Wow, Sophia, you really do love your magic drinks don't you?" You glare at her, before seeing the humor and chuckling. The witch comes bac over, and hands you a glass bottle with a clear fluid inside.

"I thought potions were normally colored?" You ask. The witch snorts.

"Rookie mistakes, everyone starts out like that." She replies, then winks at Elise. Elise looks slightly embarrassed.

You shrug before raising the potion and popping the cork. "Down the hatch!" you exclaim, and pour the whole bottle down your throat. After pausing for a brief moment, you wait for an effect to hit you, but nothing happens. After waiting for a moment, you turn to the witch. "What was that supposed to-"

Suddenly, you let out a loud moan. A massive wave of arousal washes over you, but it disappears nearly as soon as it started. The witch cackles, and points at you. "Perfect, perfect!" She exclaims. "Sorry, I'd honestly prefer to get out of this swamp as soon as possible, and he really was pretty useful when I was finding those plants for you, so I think it would be best if I didn't go after him."

The witch's face fills for a brief moment with rage, before serenity returns to her. "Of course, girlie! You do whatever you think will work out the best for you! So, then y'all better be heading back to the city now, mhm?"

Elise nods, and hugs Ingrith as she stands up. "Thank you so much Ingrith! You're an amazing teacher! I'll be sure to stop by and visit you soon!" Ingrith stands still, not responding, resulting in Elise quickly and awkwardly releasing her.

Elise begins to head out, to leave the swamp to go back to the city, when you grab her arm to stop her.

"Let's go after that town Ingrith told us about that the orcs are attacking," You suggest to Elise. Elise remembers this news, before agreeing with you, and heading off to the southeast of the swamp, where Ingrith had gestured. You aren't sure exactly where the town is, but it shouldn't be that hard to find. The sky is now a light grey, and while the swamp is still disgusting, you can at least see where you're stepping. You manage to find your way out of the swamp with little trouble, and by the time you reach the edge, the sun is rising in the sky. You feel a slight pang of hunger, your throat is parched, and you feel exhaustion bearing down on you. You will need to eat, drink, and sleep. You can see that Elise is also feeling these effects, though they're much more noticeable on her. She, of course, has not been training for this her entire life.

In the distance, you see smoke in the sky. Deciding that it is worth investigating, you and Elise begin walking towards the black pillar rising into the sky. After a walk of a bit over an hour, you come upon the village that Ingrith must have been speaking of. Standing at a distance, you see tents surrounding it, and a small wooden wall that appears to be keeping the siege out. Looking at the tents, you see hulking brutes walking among them, with grey-green skin, wearing fur and leather. Orcs, a strong and brutish race, known as often being grunts for more powerful forces. They had been known to work on their own, though.

The orc tents appear to surround the entire village, and you would guess the gate is barricaded; You won't be able to enter that easily. The people inside would probably throw you a rope or something if you reached the wall, though. You could always directly attack the orcs to get through, or you could also try to sneak through. Another option would be finding an alternate entrance.

Deciding that you are nowhere near strong enough to fight through, or stealthy enough to sneak through, but determined to save this town, you resolve to find a different entrance. Keeping at a distance, you and Elise begin to walk around the village.

Because you're so far off, the have to walk very far to cover a smalll area of the town's edge. You know that you'll likely be noticed if you get much closer, though, and have to sacrifice speed for safety. Still, despite that you aren't covering much ground, you find something in a relatively short time. Well, it finds you, that is.

As you continue to curve around the village, assessing it, you suddenly hear someone whisper something to you. "Psst!" they hiss. "Hey! Over here!"

You turn, and at first see nothing. Then, in some kind of concealing outfit, you see a ranger crouching in the grass. He's a fit, middle aged man, in a green outfit covered in plants that partially conceals him. He has a shield tattooed on his right hand, and you quickly realize that he must be a member of the Garrison.

"Oy there. You two some adventurers here to help?" He questions you. You and Elise nod, and he stands up, and you see him adjusting his pants, where he appears to have some kind of dagger or something hidden. "Well, you're welcome here then. Name's Hearst, I'm a Ranger of the Garrison's Third Regiment. One squad has been sent to defend this town, but we haven't been able to do anything more than defend it; We can't sneak people out in large numbers, and we're barely bringing in enough food to stay alive. We've sent a scout to the capital to request reinforcements, but he likely won't attain permission from the superiors for at least a week, and by then we may have run out of food. Like I said, your help is welcome. Now, who're you? How'd you find out about this place?"

"I'm Sophia, a Warrior from the valley to the west of the city," You reply. "This is Elise, she's an alchemist from the capitol. We're just starting out as adventurers, but we've been generally successful thus far, and we're willing to help. We found out about the town while we were hunting a withc in that bog over there, she told us they came through looking for potions and some plants."

Hearst nods sorrowfully. "Yeah, I've met her. Mostly a harmless old lady, but very powerful. Anyway, the orcs have been attacking with some vines, trying to bring down the wall, and hucking these explosive berries over the wall, that act like a drug, make people really complacent. We're guessing they don't want to kill us, they want slaves, but that doesn't mean they aren't dangerous. And they dumped so many potions in our water supply that the six people who drank from it snuck out of the wall and went to the orcs on their own. It's looking pretty bad. Anyway, follow me, we've got a small tunnel in this way."

You and Elise follow the ranger, and you quickly reach what appears to be an old mine entrance. You wait for Hearst to go in, but he waves you on ahead of him, he probably wants to be able to make sure nothing sneaks up on you. Elise goes ahead, and you follow her. Hearst in the rear.

After a brief walk, you see light ahead, and find your way to an exit. You climb out, blinking in the bright sunlight, looking around. You see surprised people around you; they hadn't been expecting more adventurers. You feel slightly self consious with nothing but a tube top covering your chest, and you know that the men must be feeling the effects of your pheromones, but you hope they'll be able to control themselves for now.

A man in a silverish blue armor approaches you. He holds his helmet at his side, and is wearing a purple cape. A red plume ascends from his helmet. He's fairly attractive, being perhaps ten years older then you, with a chiseled face and wavy black hair to his shoulders. You can tell he's very muscular, and are somewhat intimidated by the scars that cover his arms. He also has an eyepatch covering his right eye.

"Sergeant Ricker, Third Regiment!" He exclaims in a booming, powerful voice. "Who're you?"

Hearst cuts in. "Couple of newbie adventurers, a warrior and an alchemist. Unaligned with any faction, they're here on their own. They want to help out."

Sergeant Ricker nods. "Well, we're glad to have you. The siege has been going on for three days, we can hold out maybe four more. Help arrives in six at least, so be ready to fight at any moment. I'm somewhat busy, but you can check out the wall if you want to view the orcs or help reinforce it, or go on supply runs. I'm sure some villagers will have jobs for you as well, and I'm always looking for people to teach them how to fight. You have my respect for coming; See me if you have anything important to say, anything else can go through my second in command, Corporal Spencer. You can just call him Spencer, though. Good day." At this, he turns with a flourish. The women in the square swoon as he walks by, and the men gase up at the incredibly muscular man in awe; Aside from being nearly seven feet tall and built like a tree, you guess that the Garrison is highly respected by the citizens.

You and Elise decide to find an inn, to eat, drink, and sleep. You quickly spot a decrepit looking one, and head for it. It's dusty inside, and dark. A small old man stands behind the counter; he looks surprised to see you.

"We're here for a room." you demand tiredly. The little old man nods.

"Th- th- that'll be five gold ea-" He stops talking as you and Elise both immediately pay. The man scurries off, and gets you a key.

"I'll be making lunch in about an hour-" he starts.

"NOW." Elise demands, cutting him off. The little man squeals, and runs off to what must be the kitchen. You two were a bit rude, but you're hungry. It can be excused, this one time.

The two of you find your room, and within minutes, the man brings up plates with pieces of bread and cheese on them, along with goblets of water. The meal is meager, but it fills you enough to function. After this, you and Elise go to sleep, and quickly drift off.

"We should probably go find that guy, the second in command. Spencer." You suggest to Elise. "He probably knows what's going on in this town better than us, and Sergeant Ricker didn't really give us any specific instructions, we should probably find out where we'd be the most useful."

Elise agrees with you, so the two of you head out to find Spencer. It isn't a difficult search; you just ask a townsperson where to find the man, and you are immediately directed to town hall. It's a small building, really no different than any other in the village, it just has a wooden sign hanging over the door that reads "Pleton Town Hall". You push gently on the door, and it swings open, scraping against the wood on the ground.

In the middle of a large room is a stone table, with several men in the uniform of the Garrison standing around it, looking at a map. They speak in hushed tones, and appear very concentrated. In the far room, you see Sergeant Ricker discussing something with a fat old man who must be a village leader of some sort.

One of the men at the table notices you, and scurries over. He's small, maybe five foot five, and is extremely skinny. He wears armor, like a knight, but carries a bow, which generally are only held by rangers. The man has short, blonde hair and blue eyes. He isn't what you'd call attractive; rather, he's cute. He reminds you a bit of a mouse.

"Captain Spencer here! You two must be the girls here to help us?" He asks. Not waiting for a response, he continues. "Well, if you've got a message for Ricker, it'll need to go through me, or if you just need something minor, well, here I am! So, what's up?"

"We were hoping you could tell us what needs doing the most around here. We want to help out as efficiently as we can."

Spencer nods. "Well, that's all anyone wants, isn't it? The thing we need the most really is dead orcs, so if you're in the mood to sacrifice yourself, I guess you could go murder some of them. In all seriousness though, if I were you I'd either go help out at the wall, to get acquainted with the guards, or do some work for the citizens. It's always good to have connections in your base, and stuff like supply runs can wait for at least a couple days. Anyway, that's my advice, I guess. Sorry to say, but I'm busy right now, that's all I really have time for, though I could answer any quick questions if you have any."

"I think that I'd like to do some work among the citizens. That's probably a good way to up their moral, along with being a bit more accepted among them," You decide. Elise nods in agreement, and Spencer smiles widely.

"Great to hear! Good choice! These people really need a way to relate to the Garrison, rather than just looking at us as defenders." He exclaims.

"But, we aren't Garrison members," Elise points out. Spencer laughs at this.

"Oj, I know that, but to these people it'll really be all the same; You aren't one of us, but you're associated with us. It'll raise their respect for both you and us. Anyway, get on with it. Go out to my man Orthik out there, the herald. He'll get the message out to the villagers." You thank Spencer for his help, and leave back to the square.

Also, it's probably the most strategically important job of those offered. Besides just taking F and training soldiers or doing a supply run that is. After your relative success at the CUM Center, in Blodon, you decide that you should continue with, and advance upon your experience as a lab rat. You turn to the gangly, bespectacled teen who had been calling out about a temporary job devising methods to kill the marauding orcs. The teen smiles broadly as he hands you a piece of parchment with directions to the lab, and what time to come lazily scrawled on. You thank the teen, who scurries off, presumably back to his employer.

"I think I'll be joining you on that one, I probably have more experience in the lab than you anyway," Elise states in a very matter-of-fact tone. Come to think of it, she's probably right. Aside from your short period testing the flaming armor in Blodon, you have no experience in the lab. Still, you resolve that you're going to do anything necessary to help defend this village, and finding more efficient ways to kill orcs is probably the best thing you can do for right now. With this in mind, you and Elise follow the directions on the parchment, and in a short time, you find yourself approaching a short, wide building made of some grey metal. Your raise your fist, and rap your knuckles on it. It makes a surprisingly solid sound, and while the building looks like one orc could destroy it with ease, it feels like it's much stronger than one would think.

Suddenly, the wall swings open where you had knocked, and the teen from earlier peeks out. Apparently, you had been lucky enough to knock directly on a hidden door. The teen smiles, and ushers you and Elise in.

Inside the building, you see a small man, with puffy white hair and his back turned to you. He is standing at a lab table, with all manner of potions and tools laying across it. Then, you look around the room, and nearly scream with surprise when you realize the walls are lined with cages, each containing an orc. There are seven orcs total, and you see several dead ones laying in a corner in a disorganized heap.

The teen clears his throat. "Doctor? I got two girls here willing to test your products. The orc products, that is, not the other ones."

The small man turns around, and you realize he is very, very old. He has a bushy white moustache laying across his upper lip, and is covered in wrinkles. He bounds across the room with suprising energy though, to shake your and Elise's hands and introduce himself.

"A pleasure, a pleasure!" He cries. "What a pleasure it is to meet your two lovely ladies. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Doctor Alfred Brownstein, MD, Ph.D., HNIC, and this is my trusty sidekick and janitor, Percival!" He waves a wild arm at the teen. "I have been established in this facility for, oh. nearly thirty three years, four mounts, seventeen days, four hours, twelve minutes, and eight seconds now, and have brought the glorious town of Pleton such glorious inventions as the Concave Fluid Transporter!" He gestures to a wooden bowl on his table. "However, that is enough of me, I'm sure you've heard of me; Tell me, who are the two of you?"

"I'm Sophia, a warrior from the west of the capital. I'm here to fight the orc menace." You wring your hand from Dr. Brownstein's grip as you introduce yourself.

"Pleased to meet you. I'm Elise, I'm an alchemist from Blodon. I have a master's degree in chemical engineering from Harlton University, in Xonia." Elise says. She turns to you at your increduolous look at her announcement of her degree. "What? You think a person who does science for a living will be an idiot?"

"Ah, Harlton? I had a friend go there, he mostly went for the parties though. I was self educated, and awarded myself my own degrees, as I am, as you've heard, much more qualified than any university, even when I was a young boy. Still, I did hear that Xonia was a damn good time. So, shall we begin? Come, I'll need you two to help me design a poison for these orcs. Orcs are immune to most poisons, after all, really their only strength besides their strength, but if we can make an effective one, we'll win this war with ease. So, let's get to work!"

a) Try to make a poison
b) Act as a lab assistant
c) Administer the potions to the orcs
d) Stand back and do nothing
e) Set an orc free, so you can demonstrate the REAL best way to kill them. The Warrior way, not some sissy alchemy bullshit

"Here, I'll start trying to make a poison, I have a couple of ideas that could be effective against orcs. Dr. Brownstein, you can join me. Sophia, do you want to maybe, I don't know, clean test tubes or something? Thanks for your help." Elise says, approaching the lab table. Agreeing with this suggestion, you and Dr. Brownstein both start your respective jobs, you supplying tools, containers, and ingredients to Elise, while the doctor works on his own.

Elise frequently asks you for odd ingredients that you've never heard of, but do your best to guess. Things with magical, harsh sounding names. Odd, purple flowers, and herbs that seem to squirm with blackness. As you supply them, and Elise throws ingedients into different containers, the main mixture in the cauldron slowly fades to a dark green. It has no smell, oddly, as many of the ingredients had been very strongly scented, but you suppose that for a poison, you likely wouldn't want it to be obvious.

Meanwhile, the doctor has made his own concoction, which seems to consist of strangely colored mushrooms, three brussel sprouts, a leather boot, and some chicken broth. It does have a scent, a very strong one. He glances over at what Elise has created, and nods. "An interesting attempt," He says. "Not too bad for a rookie. Don't know why any orc would drink something that looks like that, but it's interesting."

The alchemists have you bring the cauldrons over to the orcs, to the closest two. You also grab two test tubes, and fill each with a bit of the concoction. You even manage to scoop up some boot, as the solid ingredients in Dr. Brownstein's creation have begun to dissolve into sludge. You move to hand a test tube to each alchemist, but they both move back. "You're the assistant Sophia, you administer the potions," Elise orders, her voice wavering slightly. You nod, and turn to the orcs.

You move close to the first orc. It lunges forward, and slams into the bars of its cage. It presses it's face up against them, and snarls, squeezing the metal in its massive hands. It must be eight feet tall, and is covered in muscle. You decide to test the doctor's poison first, and raise the concoction to the orc's lips. The beast, seeing this, tries to move back from the cage bars, when suddenly the teen shouts something, and the bars transform, pulling the orc forward, reshaping themselves and acting as restraints. You turn to Percival, who smiles meekly, and shrugs. "Just some basic magic, I study matter manipulation as a hobby. It comes in handy, but I'm not very good, I'm next to useless outside a controlled environment at this point." You smile, and thank him before turning back to the orc.

You raise the test tube filled with greyish sludge to the orcs mouth. powerless to resist, it growls in anger as the sludge slides down its throat. The hulking greyish green beast starts gagging, and for a minute it appears that it may choke, and that the potion is working, but as it recovers, it becomes clear that it was merely coughing at the potion's taste. You turn to Dr. Brownstein, and raise an eyebrow.

He laughs embarrasedly. "It's a slow acting poison. Give that orc about two hundred years, and it'll be dead for sure! Also, it should have a huge weakness to swords now. Really, try cutting its head off! I guarantee it'll die, for sure!"

Nodding, and beginning to slightly doubt the doctors claims of his inventions and degrees, you move the potion that Elise created to the orc's mouth. It once again tries to resist, but is powerless against you. The green potion slides easily down its throat, and in mere moments the orc begins convulsing, and foaming at the mouth. Quickly, it begins bleading out of its nose, eyes, and ears, before quickly collapsing against the cage's bars. Elise is obviously deserving of her title of alchemist.

Suddenly, you hear a crash from the other side of the room. You all spin, and see that one of the other orcs has broken from its restraints! It then grabs the cage door of another orc, and rips it clear off its hinges. All the other orcs in the building bellow in excitement at this, as the two beasts turn to face the four of you.

"Oh shit!" Elise yells, turning to run and grab her bag. You draw your sword, Dr. Brownstein pulls a red potion that appears to be smoking from his lab coat, and Percival produces a small wand from his own coat!

Sophia:
A) Run to attack the orcs!
B) Defend the doctor and Percival
C) Try to stop the doctor from doing something stupid
D) Try to scare the orcs into going back into their cages

Elise:

You raise your sword, and charge at the orcs, screaming a barbaric battle cry. At the side of your vision, you see Dr. Brownstein throw his potion, which explodes uselessly against one of the orcs.

"Haha! That that, Vile beast!" He yells. "That potion will give you the dreaded illness, the common cold! Fear me! Kneel before Dr/ Brownstein! Tremble in awe at my magnificence!"

As you near the orcs, you suddenly feel as though time is slowing down. Everything moves in slow motion, and at first, you think that it is just adrenaline, but then, you hear Percival chanting. This is the only sound in the room, all else has gone silent. It is the only thing moving at a normal speed.

"Tagad es aicinu saja laika nepieciesams pec tris lasts terauda. Plust ka udens, saistit manu ienaidnieku, noslepkavot manu ienaidnieku. Es ludzu este nosaukumu viņas Vissvetsaka Eztris, dieviete zinatne."

As the last of these words falls from Percival's mouth, you see the cages the two orcs escaped from start to glow. They melt, reshape into two steel balls, then, moving with incredible speed while everything else appears to be frozen, speed at the orcs. The glowing hot metal splatters onto the orcs' skin, and as it does, time immediately speeds back up. The orcs scream in pain at the molten metal, as it reshapes itself, covering their entire bodies like a coating of covermoss. The screams of the orcs are silent as their steel suits encase their heads, shutting them in completely. Just as you think the spell has ended, the steel, orc shaped statues compress with a horrid squelch, and a spray of black blood comes forth as the orcs are crushed. You, Elise, and the doctor all turn to Percival in awe of his power, and the gangly teen shrugs. "It's a hobby." He explains.

You nod, and, still shocked, begin to bottle up the potion that Elise created. You, Elise, and Percival then spend half an hour cleaning up the mess of orc blood and guts, while Doctor Brownstein sits back, and proclaims that it was his teachings that brought Percival to his current power. When the room is once again clean, you and Elise need to decide what to do.

A) Go give Sergeant Ricker the potion, and explain its effects
B) Go give it to Spencer, he's nicer than Ricker, and deserves the recognition
C) Go use the potion on the orcs yourself. Ricker and Spencer will be annoyed, but the villagers will love you!

As Elise begins gathering together her tools, you approach Percival. "That was some pretty impressive spellwork back there, Percival. I thought you said you aren't very good?"

"Well, I didn't think I was. I've never done anything like that before, and I also just don't have any other wizards to compare myself to, so I jut kind of assumed I wasn't very skilled," he sheepishly explains.

"Well, to me it looks like you are. Now, I was wondering something. Elise and I haven't been together forever. Actually, we only met recently. Still, we're a team. I'm trying to form my own band of adventurers, and maybe even someday we could say a team of heroes, though we haven't really done many heroic things this early in our career. So, I was wondering if you'd like to join us? You'd be a valuable asset."

Percival flushes red. "I'm not so sure," He stutters. "I feel like I won't gain much from that, as opposed to staying here and studying."

"Well, why can't you study on the road? I'm sure they also offer actual classes at the adventurer academy in Blodon," you offer.

Elise leans over to add input. "Bitches, Percival. Think of the bitches."

Percival turns an even brighter red at this. "I- I mean I guess that's true… The bit about the academy I mean! I mean- sure, I guess I can join you. I'll just change into some more traditional wizard robes first, okay?" Percival bustles over to the corner of the room, and searches through a bag. You avert your eyes while he changes, and when he announces that he's ready to go, you look to see Percival wearing a blue tunic, with steel grey pants and a grey robe.

The three of you leave the facility as Dr. Brownstein calls out behind you that he'd love to join "A couple of pretty little damsels alone in the wilderness" too. You ignore this, and head to find Sergeant Ricker, to give him the potion. At first, he refuses to see you, insisting that he had more important things to do, but eventually admits you to his office in the back of Pleton's town hall. As you explain the potion Elise created, Sergeant Ricker's eyes slowly widen, until they must be as large as saucers.

"Incredible. I must say, I'm impressed ladies and ladyboy," he says gruffly. "But I must say that even wil this poison on our blades, outright attcking the orcs will be dangerous. We simply don't have the military power to win."

"Well, that's why we'd reccomend sneaking it into their food," Elise says.

"Genius!" Ricker exclaims. "But still, dangerous for the infiltrator, and I won't risk my men. I assume you three will be doing it?"
