“We’re heading back to base. We won’t find shit in this accursed storm. Everyone, get back to the Rhino.”

Alexi and Serena exchange an unsubtle glance before turning around and heading to the Rhino. The rain has plastered their hair flat down on their heads. Fat drops of water congregate at the ends of their strands of hair before tumbling to the ground and splashing off the muddy puddles. Jezebel drags her feet behind her, evidently distraught at what just happened. She didn’t have the same emotional investment in the Sarge as any of you did - but she was the only one to see them snatch her away.

The black night obscures your view to barely two meters in front of you - just enough to make out the wiggling of Alexi’s naked ass, glistening wet with raindrops. Eventually you reach the Rhino, climbing into the back and waving on Selena to take the driver’s seat.

The two Dark Eldar slaves were still in the back shivering from the cool weather outside, their silvery metal bikinis barely covering their goosebumped flesh. One was a ginger women, probably in her early twenties, with a slim body. The other had very short hair as dark as the night itself, and a slightly bigger build, but was by no means fat.

*CLANG*

The Rhino door seals shut and the engine rumbles to life, quickly flooding the rear compartment with some much-needed warmth.

“I’m the Sister Superior of this squad, my name is Palatina.

There is an awkward silence as the two women look up at you.

“What are your names?” you ask, trying to initiate a conversation.

“Emerald,” replies the dark-haired woman.

“I’m Lana,” the ginger one whispers.

“What happened? How did you get captured?”

“It was months ago…” Emerald begins, “I’d been held on Commoragh for most of the past year. When I finally gave up trying to escape they let me accompany some of the lesser raiders on missions. I was on the forge-moon of Malagus; I was coming home from work and they were waiting in an alley. I don’t know how they got there.”

“And you?”

“I’m from Malagus too. I was captured a fortnight ago… maybe longer. When they brought me to Commoragh I was thrown to the beasts to keep them quiet when they were in heat.”

Your conversation with the two women continues as Selena drives the Rhino back to base. You spend a lot of time explaining to the women who your squad is, what you were doing, and the current situation on Glore IV.

“Hang on, how did you get to this world from Commoragh?” you inquire.

“They have these… structures. Webway gates, I think they call them. Imagine a large portal structure that you can travel through.”

“There’s one on Glore IV?!” Alexi gasps in surprise.

“Yeah, it’s in a cave in these moors somewhere. I can’t tell you where exactly. They dragged us around for days in those hills,” Emerald answers.

You look at Lana, but she merely shakes her head suggesting she doesn’t know where the cave’s exact location is either. A loud sigh escapes your lips, but your thoughts are suddenly interrupted by Jezebel’s hand on your shoulder.

“It’s ok, this is good news. We know the rough location of where they are coming from. We have a slight advantage now. The Sarge is strong, she’ll hold out,” the Sister Repentia smiles, “We’ll get her back yet.”

When you finally arrive home that night you throw down a couple of blankets on the downstairs couches for the slaves to sleep on. Your squad has separated tonight, none of them seem to be too interested in taking any jobs on after that disaster. Morale is at an all-time low now.

During battle you will sometimes have the option to "Call in fervour" on the strawpoll. If this option wins you guys will have time to list what fervours you want to use. A second strawpoll will then allow you to vote for what one to call in.

As the clouds continue to recede you clamber upstairs, eventually finding the steel ladder leading to the roof. The metal flap has been left slightly open, allowing some of the rainwater to trickle inside.

*Creak*

The ladder groans as you climb up to find Alexi standing at the edge of the roof, looking drearily into the horizon and orange hue of the rising sun.

“Hey, I came up to check on you. You alright?” you ask, trying to make your voice sound as compassionate as you possibly can.

“Yea-” she begins, before cutting herself off, turning around with tears in her eyes, “I miss Sarge.”

You open your arms and pull her close. She has put on some spare flak armour lying around now. As you hold her you try your best to comfort her, desperate to think of something soothing to say.

(Rolling spaghetti test… Epic fail!)

Before you get a chance to speak she suddenly pulls away and leans in to kiss you. You turn your head aside at the last second in shock.

“I- Sorry!” she gasps, suddenly realising she crossed some boundary that even she knows she shouldn’t have.

As she begins trembling again your desire to comfort her rises again. You quickly try to think up something funny and witty to cheer her up.

“I bet Sarge is happy right now. You know, YOU should be JEALOUS of her! Think of all the great… sex… and uh… kinky stuff she’s doing right now! I bet she’s having a blast.”

Your fake smile hurts to hold, the realisation of just how dumb what you just said was sinking in. The colour was draining from Alexi’s face and her mouth slowly dropped open.

“What the fuck?” she wordlessly mouths, shocked by how insensitive, inane, and detached from reality your social skills were.

“Yeah, I- I’m gonna go now,” you quickly reply, abandoning the awkward situation before it got worse.

(Relations with Alexi have decreased, squad morale has not improved.)

By the time you are finally back downstairs it seems Jezebel has returned from her walk.

You may as well take a look at the dataslate now and see what missions are available. Interestingly there are only two today.

The first one to appear is a request from another group of Sisters and Guardsmen who are putting out a call for assistance in purging an Ork splinter horde. They estimate there to be just over one hundred of them with plenty of them led by a Weirdboy who goes by the name of ‘Mindfucka!’ The horde is mostly composed of Boyz and Gretchin with a couple of Nob bodyguards for ‘Mindfucka’ himself.

The second mission is from Inquisitor Umbrix, requesting you meet him at the usual beachhead. This time however it has been marked with red letters, ‘URGENT.’

Alternatively you could take the day off and let your Sisters relax. Perhaps spend the day at home resting and socialising to restore morale.

Or, you could head into the hills and begin searching for the Webway portal.

(Normally you would be able to split your squad across multiple missions. But when morale is very low your squad won’t have the energy or desire to do it, preferring to stick together or stay at home base.)

You decide to take on the Inquisitor’s mission; but just as you prepare to leave you are suddenly greeted by another Rhino. Two Sisters of Battle hop out and hand over four suits of Power Armour.

“Regards from the Cannoness, sorry we can’t stay to chat, busy schedule!” they quickly affirm, before rushing back into their vehicle to make more deliveries.

Umbrix was sitting on the beach this time, his back resting against a sand dune with the power maul at his side. It was surprisingly calm and soothing today. The pinkish sea of Glore IV rushed up over the golden sand; leaving the small grains glistening like rubies for just a few seconds before a second wave would rejuvenate their glow.

“Good morning, ladies. We’ve got a lot of-”

His speech slows down as he tries to direct his greeting towards the sergeant.

“Where’s your superior?”

“Morning. She was taken by the Dark Eldar.”

“Bullshit.”

“It’s true,” Serena perks up.

“On Glore?!” he exclaims in surprise, “What in the Emperor’s name are they doing here?!”

“Taking slaves during the chaos, it seems. We picked up two women they had captured,” you reply.

“Damn. I’m afraid I can’t help your Sergeant right now, something more important has come up.”

As Umbrix rises to his feet you notice his elegant robe has three deep tears in it - probably from some claw mark.

“With that DNA you helped me collect I was able to pinpoint the rough location of the Genestealer’s Broodlord. I hope you’re ready for combat ladies, because this won’t be an easy fight. It will probably have some Genestealers protecting it too. If we travel West-South-West from here we should arrive at a small thicket; much smaller than last time. The thicket itself is very dense; left untouched by local farmers because they-”

“HURRR DURRRR!”

You jump up at the sudden interruption, raising your heavy bolter at a Glovian Cow. The two legged creature was hobbling around on the sand dune and falling over; but it had suddenly taken an interest in your squad, creeping up behind you and unleashing its characteristic sound.

“God dammit,” the Inquisitor whispers to himself, “Let’s take this to the Rhino. These blasted cows never shut the fuc-”

“HURRR DUURRRRRR!”

Almost no animals were capable of smiling; the Glovian Cow was an unfortunate exception. A huge goofy grin was plastered across its face as it hobbled and tumbled like an oversized chicken. A quick glance revealed it was a male of the species; meaning none of that valuable Glovian milk could be harvested either.

As you clambered into the Rhino the Inquisitor continued his speech, “The farmers left it alone. From the refugees I interviewed, apparently there is an ancient temple or shrine inside that they claim is cursed. We are not there for that temple and under no circumstances are you to approach that temple unless our mission directive of killing the Broodlord intertwines with that. Am I clear?””

“Crystal,” you remark as Serena revs the engine to life and you head out.

When you finally arrive at the thicket the Inquisitor makes you drive around it. It’s almost circular and probably about 250 meters in diameter.

“Alright ladies, last time you almost fucked up. BUT, I’m feeling generous and I’m going to let you make the call on how to handle this one. Oh, by the way ladies, that power armour I’m sending is on the way. There was a… fool at the Administratum who didn’t want to serve my request. Needless to say, there is one less incompetent bureaucrat now.”

“Anyone else got a feeling of deja vu?” the Inquisitor mutters under his breath as your squad creeps into the dense thicket.

Each of you were standing back to back, determined to not let yourselves get split up like last time. Bushes and bracken braze against the legs of your new power armour, while all manner of little bugs wriggle, crawl, and scurry as their home is invaded by armoured giants.

“Ew… I hate bugs…”

“Quiet, girl,” Umbrix berates her, raising his hot shot laspistol and scanning the small forest with eagle eyes.

(Rolling awareness test… fail.)

“We’re clear, no sign of the temple yet. Prepare to advance another 30 or so meters then we’ll scout again.”

Your squad moves out, following the Inquisitor as birds tweet in the branches overhead, singing their ominous lullabies.

*CRACK*

There is a sudden crack as the Inquisitor steps on a thin branch that had dried out in the small patch of intense sunlight that had passed the canopy.

“Graraaggh?”

The sound of grumbling and gurgling erupts like in a cacophony from your right. The Inquisitor turns around pale faced. You were fifty or so meters into the forest now. You could still try and make a break for the exit. Or you could bury yourselves under the thick undergrowth and ambush what approaches.

Or you could try to throw the Rapeanids off-guard by launching a counter-attack before they find you. Go in loud, shooting and throwing grenades wildly to try and terrify them into thinking you’ve seen them first.

“Get under the foliage. We’ll ambush the bastards,” you whisper, clambering down prone beneath the planet’s tall reddish ferns. Your squad quickly follows suit, ducking down as the sound of rustling quickly approaches.

“RAAAAGGHHH!”

“Aaaahhhh!” screams Serena as she is suddenly dragged to her feet by a Genestealer.

“FUCK!” Umbrix bellows, pouncing to his feet and raising his hot-shot pistol, “They’re coming from behind! Genestealers! Fuck knows how many!”

You scramble to your feet as your squad begins returning fire at the blurs darting through the forest. Serena has knocked her attacker in the face with the butt of her bolter, sending it reeling back into a small rock.

In a frantic panic you tune your radio into the Astra Militarum frequency and scream out for backup.

“I need a favour, dammit, tell your commander it’s Palatina! We’re pinned down at the thicket near quadrant X-”

*BLAM BLAM*

Gunshots ring out out as you radio in your position. A few seconds later you get a reply,

“Charlie team are on their way, sit tight. ETA 10 minutes.”

By the time you get yourself back into the fight you’ve lost track of most of what is going on. You can hear the whirr of Jezebel’s chainsword and the purr of Alexi’s hand flamer just behind you. at least you know they’re safe for the meantime.

“STAND YOUR GROUND! Reinforcements are on their way, Sisters!”

Serena takes her shots slowly and surely. Her first target is the downed Genestealer on the rock; with a single, well placed shot she blows its head off before turning her attention to the approaching aliens.

*BLAM*

“Naaaagghhhh- HACK!”

Another one’s screech is cut off as her bolter tears through its throat. A split second later Alexi dives in, spurting a thick jet of orange prometheum over the forest landscape.

*Woosssshhh*

Several more Genestealers are set alight, flailing and collapsing to the ground.

“Good job! Give those bastards hell!” Umbrix announces, blasting with his hot-shot laspistol at the Xenos in the forest. The thin red beam slices into the chest of a nearby Genestealer, burning out its monsterous heart.

You open fire with your heavy bolter, unleashing a fully automatic rain of shells which punch through the trunks of trees, decimating everything on the other side. (3 wins, 1 fail, 2 epic fails!) You are pretty sure you tore apart at least three of the encircling Genestealers before you felt your trusty gun begin to chug and stutter.

“Dammit, not now!” you roar, pulling back to take cover behind Serena as you examine the problem.

(Rolling morale test for Genestealers… Pass, almost epic win!)

“They’re not stopping!” Serena suddenly cries in terror as the Genestealers continue advancing, completely unphased at the massive losses they just incurred.

Jezebel quickly steps in front of her, raising her chainsword and preparing for the inevitable melee about to hit your squad. Sensing your problem the Inquisitor stands beside you with his power maul raised and crackling with a blue energy.

“Keep withering down their numbers enough and that bastard Broodlord will show himself!” Umbrix continues.

The explosion strips the leaves from nearby trees like the seeds from a blade of grass; sending them tumbling to the ground like it was Autumn.

“Good hit, Palatina!” Umbrix bellows, charging forward to meet the oncoming attackers.

Jezebel leaps over the crouched Serena and Alexi, revving her chainsword to life as she fights by the Commissar’s side.

(Umbrix, epic win and fail. Jezebel, two passes!)

*WhirrrRRRRRRKKKRRRUUNNNH*

The sound of chainsword cutting through flesh and bone gurgled in the forest, as blood splattered over the fallen leaves on the floor. She was holding her own against two Genestealers, cutting them limb from limb.

Umbrix, on the other hand, was engaged in a stand off with his target. Unlike the finesse and speed of Jezebel he was a fan of the raw power behind the power maul. The Genestealer struck first, leaping forward, claws unleashed to shred his armour.

As it soared mid-air Umbrix dived to one knee and brought his power maul up with both hands, letting his hot-shot laspistol dangle from the power cord attached to his waist. There was brilliant burst of electric light as the intricate weapon sent the Genestealer surging into the treeline, shattering its rib cage and leaving it dangling on the bare branches.

“Oh yeah! Barnabas is gonna ruin your d- OOFFF!”

He is suddenly tackled to the ground and winded as a Genestealer leaps onto him from behind, tearing at his carapace. As he lies on his chest the alien reaches around and begins fondling his cock, trying to get him erect.

“GET YOUR FILTHY CLAWS OFF THERE!” Umbrix sneers through gnashed teeth.

As the battle rages on your squad begins getting swamped in the sheer number of them. You see Jezebel stripped naked, and Alexi with deep gashes in the joints of her armour as she tries to shield Serena.

(Genestealer morale fail!)

One by one they begin breaking and falling back into the forest though. As they realise the sheer number of losses they have suffered they launch a full scale retreat, scurrying deeper into the forest.

“Don’t pursue them! Reload your weapons and check your armour for damage,” you order, lowering to your knees and dismantling your heavy bolter to try and find the source of the jam.

Inquisitor Umbrix staggers to his feet, now stark naked with his carapace lying in shreds. He reluctantly kicks the tattered remains of his fur robes before sighing and strapping the battery pack for the hot-shot laspistol around his waist with a belt. Alexi and Jezebel glance at his sizeable cock before whispering to each other.

“Aw c’mon, don’t tell me you don’t like what you see ladies?” the Inquisitor teases, in far greater a humour than he was on your last mission. Perhaps the relative success of that fight had cheered him up.

Serena was quietly singing to herself as she began refilling her magazine, returning smiles anytime anyone looked at her. She was positively… normal. No eccentries or twisted morality. No peculiar fetishes for Rapeanids like Alexi. And yet, despite how different she was, she remained the loyalest member of the group.

It was clear now. No matter what happened you could rely on Serena to support you.

The forest was filled with the bodies of dead Genestealers now - over two dozen of them. Alexi kicks a few with her boots as she checks her fuel cannister.

“Uh… I’m down to a quarter of a tank now Sarge. After that I’m dryer than you at a strip club.”

“HEY!” you bark at Alexi who breaks down in laughter.

After a few minutes you manage to finally unjam your gun, pulling out a shell that had misaligned itself in the firing mechanism.

Suddenly the sound of rustling in the forest opens up from behind. Your squad spins around, raising their guns as a group of humans trudge into the forest, clad in navy flak armour.

“Charlie Company, Second Division, Third Squad! Sergeant Joanna, at your service, m’am! Our Chimera couldn’t make it into the forest,” a busty sergeant salutes. She has brought along nine men with her, all armed with lasguns, bar one that had a grenade launcher. As you glanced down her body you noticed she was armed with a couple of frag grenades, a laspistol, and a chainsword.

“Welcome, good to see you’ve arrived. We’ve cleared up a bunch of them already, but we suspect there are more inside, supported by a Broodlord.”

As you explain the situation the guardsmen begin filtering out around you, kneeling down or going prone and scanning the forest for signs of Rapeanid activity.

“Ouch. This won’t be an easy fight then.”

“You’re damn right it won’t,” the Inquisitor remarks, his cock swinging as he walks, “These Broodlords are tough as a Shrike, with psychic powers to boot. Keep your wits about you, Sarge.”

The young, brunette Guardswoman is blushing at the Inquisitor’s nakedness while she nods and salutes.

“SARGE! I see something over there!” you hear one of the guardsmen bellow.”

Joanna and you rush over, kneeling down. About seventy meters more into the forest is a grey temple, presumably carved out of a massive rock. It doesn’t look that big, barely five meters by five, but you watch multiple Genestealers flood into it as they continue retreating from your squad.

“The Inquisitor and my squad shall lead the way; I want you and your soldiers to provide us with covering fire from behind.

“Rodger that. Let’s move!” Joanna replies.

You begin dashing forward, charging the temple where the last of the Genestealers are hiding. When you’re about thirty meters from the entrance you are suddenly hit with an array of visions swarming your mind. You see yourself getting licked to climax by some Rapeanid monstrosity, while Alexi and Jezebel are having a threesome with a large warrior.

(Rolling pinning test… pass!)

“No!” you grunt, trying to snap out of it.

As you come back to your senses you realise whatever is causing the hallucinations is hitting your whole squad. You rush over to Jezebel and pull her hands out from under her cloth armour before she can start fingering herself.

“Pull yourself together! We’re almost there!” you cry, firing off a couple of rounds from your heavy bolter into the air. Then you see it.

The red-skinned Broodlord loomed over the shorter Genestealers at the entrance to the grey-stone temple, a thicker carapace shell protecting its body, and two large claws extending from its chest below its arms. It would make short work of your power armour if you let it get close. To make things worse the Broodlords were renowned psykers, able to cast hallucinations into the minds of their victims.

You had read about these things before at the academy. If what you remembered was correct this thing was gonna shrug off most rounds that didn’t come from your heavy bolter, or the Inquisitor’s hot-shot laspistol.

“OPEN FIRE!” you hear Joanna command her soldiers from the treeline.

A split second later an eruption of las fire crackled from the treeline, peppering the front of the temple with small charred burn marks.

(Rolling 8 lasgun shots… 1 pass, 2 epic win!)

Despite most of the shots failing to do any damage, or wildly missing their target a couple find their mark downing a couple of the Genestealer bodyguards while two strike the Broodlord in the chest, seeming to actually hurt it. Sensing your unstoppable advance the Broodlord howls before fleeing back inside the temple with the final couple of Genestealers. There can’t be any more than about six left.

Pressing forward towards the stone building you suddenly notice a hole in the ground at the center; a makeshift tunnel dug through the dirt floor and deep underground. It’s about 2 meters wide and seems to go down a good distance. The Rapeanids must have dug a tunnel down there.

“Stop laughing, Alexi!” you order, pushing Jezebel and the blonde bimbo in first before you jump in after.

“Guardsmen! This is our chance! Charge for the Emperor!” Joanna booms, waving her men in after the Inquisitor and Serena.

The caves are pretty dark, but small patches of luminous mushrooms offer just enough light to see a bit in front of you. Jezebel and Alexi lead the way, their swords swinging and cutting at any Genestealer that dares to try and stop their advance.

“You’re a very promising student, Palatina. Don’t let yourself be distracted by the lowest common denominator. Nothing except pain will ever come of relationships. If you want to meet your potential you must realise that.”

“Yes, sir,” you reply, your gaze falling to the cobble stone floor of the church.

“What age are you again, Palatina?”

“15 now, sir.”

“Hmm… a few years yet.”

“Then what, sir?”

When you snap back to reality the guardsmen have filtered into the room and are desperately pinging their lasfire off the Broodlord’s thick hide to little effect. It stands defiant on top of the eggsacs, roaring out psychic attacks before hunkering down on all fours, preparing to leap. Jezebel is duelling with two Genestealers while Alexi rushes to keep the third from rampaging through the guardsmen’s ranks. You quickly glance around for the rest of your squad, but there is no sign of the Inquisitor or Serena.

“No, I quite fancy the walk. And I need to collect some egg samples. I will contact you again when I require your assistance. Get some rest, you looked exhausted today.”

The four of you bid farewell and trek out of the cave, getting back inside your Rhino and driving home.

A couple of hours later and you see it in the distance; its silvery steeple stretching up into the heavens. It was a nice church and you would have relished to been given the chance to work at it.

It stood atop a grassy hill and had somehow remained largely untouched since you last visited here three years ago. As you walk up the cobblestone path you admire the solid polished oak door with the intricate brass etchings, each curve and indentation praising the Emperor in its own way.

You turn to your left, trudging around the side. It seems the Rapeanids got here after all. Part of the wall had been knocked down by an explosion or a monster smashing through - it was difficult to tell which.

You continue on round to the rows of stones all standing at attention.

“Harriet Matthewson - 82 years.”

“Barabus Johnson - 50 years.”

As you continued walking along you eventually found it. You leant over and brushed off some dead leaves and dirt that had accumulated on the smooth granite surface. Minutes turn to hours as you sit on the green grass, spending time with your first love. Clouds forming overhead and a rain beginning to trickle down.

When your eyes eventually began to water, as they always did when you visited, you stand to your feet, choking back tears and coughing. You extend a thumb and wipe any remaining specs of dirt from the gold lettering.
