26d0b1 No.9830[Last 50 Posts]

Welcome to the 5th thread for Seeker! When we last saw our heroine, she had just narrowly escaped a villainous Awakened Union mercenary in the library, and had received a call from her underworld contact, Sven, about the location of the next map orb! First, though, she's planning to drop into the Historical Society to have some artifacts appraised!
Active status document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ArSnKHevF0LC-YN8pEGsb6GPwR0ZRTEYU9vnYYWPzjQ/edit

Without further ado, we'll continue!

You decide to ignore Sven for now. After all, the smarmy bartender is only helping you because you saved his skin. You don't owe him a thing! You gather your group together and leave the library, catching a cab and ordering it to take you to the Historical Society. You consider telling your companions about the Awakened Union soldier’s intrusion, but you decide against it. It would only make them more panicked, after all, and panic is the last thing any of you need. If withholding the truth keeps them prepared and levelheaded, you’ll have to do it.

The midday sun beats down on the city, causing the glass skyscraper to sparkle and shine magnificently. You’re glad you picked a cab with windows as you speed through the airspace of the bustling metropolis. After twenty minutes or driving, you’re dropped off out front of the stately building. You head inside, walking straight up to the front desk.

“Is Hedgins in?” you ask the clerk. She nods, and you stroll down the hall into the archaelogist’s office. He looks up from his stacks of paperwork when you come in, not bothering to knock.

“Oh. It’s you. I don’t suppose you found that orb?” You shake your head. “Shame. I was getting my hopes up. What is it you want then?”

You place the orb you already have, the attribute absorber, and the small coin on the table. “How much would you value these at? And do you know what this coin is?”

Hedgins grabs a pair of telescopic glasses from a desk drawer. He peers very closely at the coin. After a minute or two, he takes the glasses off. “It’s a confidentiality coin. Not really much of an artifact at all. Just a rather old coin. Certain organizations use them as a sort of membership proof. If their members ever need to demonstrate that they’re on the same side on the down low, they flash the coin. Based on the lizard carving on it, I would say that this is actually a coin corresponding to a sect of the Awakened Union called the Cold Bloods. I’d buy it off you for fifteen credits, I suppose. But it could be helpful to you sometime, if you ever want to make people think you’re someone you’re not.” He shrugs. “I’ll give you fifty credits for the orb, and twenty for that attribute absorber. They’re handy little things, but we have a lot in stock right now.”

Pick which objects, if any, you’d like to sell to Hedgins.

A) Confidentiality coin (15)
B) Map orb (50)
C) Attribute absorber (20)
D) None

You gather up your artifacts and stow them back in your bag, stepping away from Hedgins’ desk. “I think I’ll hang onto them for now. Thanks though.”

Hedgins nods, turning back to his computer. “If you end up finding that orb, I’d appreciate it if you returned it to the Society. I’m sure we’d all be very grateful. Good day.”

You back out of Hedgins’ office, into the hall where your companions are waiting. They seem surprised you didn’t sell anything, but they follow you back out of the Society without complaints. Back out in the plaza, you hail down a cab. “I need to visit the blue Guargan statue down in the slums. I was told you’d know where that was?” The cabbie nods. As you pile into the cab, Emily looks nervous.

“Didn’t Sven say that we shouldn’t travel in a big group because it would look suspicious? Do you think one of us should stay behind?” You consider it. It would be easier to move around unmolested if there were fewer of you, she’s definitely right.

Alright, Emily will remain behind. Your chances of being suspected are now 0.

26db2d No.9856

After you drop Emily off at the ship, the cab cruises into the slums. You look around as the buildings fly by. The whole area is textbook lower-class. The paint on the buildings is peeling, the windows are cracked, some doors are off their hinges. Trash is heaped outside some of the buildings, along with broken cars and smashed hoverbikes. The alleyways are brimming with unsavory characters and shadowy figures. After a while, you arrive at a circular plaza. in the center is a large statue, made of a bright blue rock. The depicts a Guargan in traditional tribal armor, raising his four arms above his head and wielding four paired axes. There’s a large crack running up the statue’s right leg. The cab comes to a stop, speeding away the moment you step out. You can’t blame him. You don’t want to stay in this part of town any longer than you have to.

“Hey! Orb girl!” You see Sven waving at you. He’s still wearing his bartender uniform, he must have just gotten off work. His short brown hair is impeccable, his vest is smoothed and his blue tie is perfectly straight. Say what you will about the guy. he keeps himself looking good. Sven walks over to you. “So here’s the deal. I tracked the orb back to a gang called the Grapes Of Wrath. One of my buddies did some work on their hideout a while ago and he heard them talking about it. I asked around a little and it turns out they’re looking to sell it to some guys from the Awakened Union. Apparently they’ve been moving it around to different safe houses every day. Lucky for you, I know where today’s safehouse is. Even luckier for you, I know for a fact that most of the enforcers guarding it are out drinking right now. They’re pretty sure nobody even knows this orb exists, so they’re getting lazy.” Sven looks rather pleased with himself.

“So, where is this place?” you ask. He points across the plaza to a large building with the windows boarded up.

“Right there. There’s an entrance around the side, and on the front. I’ll show you the way.” He leads you over to the building. “What’ll it be?”

A) Front entrance
B) Side entrance

Sven points out both doors to you and then hurries away. “Let’s go in the side.” you suggest. Crystal agrees. You see her pull a coiled whip from inside her jacket. That could be an imposing weapon if you have to fight for the orb. You push open the door and head inside. The hallway is silent. Far away, you can hear the steady drip of leaking pipes. You and Crystal slowly move down the hallway, eyes peeled for anything suspicious. You slowly push open a door on your left, finding yourself in an empty room. From around the corner, you can hear a voice approaching, talking casually.

You do your best to stay quiet. Unfortunately, in your effort to remain hidden, your elbow bumps the wall. The voice is silent for a minute.

“I’ll call you back, Terry. I’ve got to check something.” says the man on the other side of the wall. Then he pushes the door open. His shirt and jacket are dyed purple, the color of the Grapes of Wrath. When he sees you, his eyes wide, and you see him reaching for a gun on his belt. “Hey!” he says. “Put your hands on your head!”

You lean in to the man, opening your mouth to speak, but before you can, he sticks his gun in your face. You see Crystal unfurling her whip out of the corner of your eye. She might be able to disarm him. The man’s attention is still fixated on you. He looks confused, rather than scared or angry. He hasn’t called anyone for help yet, though, so you may still have a chance.

“I said, put your hands on your head!” Slowly, you do as he says, raising your hands and placing them on the side of your head. You gun is still in your bag, and going for it now is far too risky. You don’t know if that’s a stun gun he’s holding, or something much more painful. Crystal moves in the blink of an eye, her whip snapping up towards his gun.

Your thoughts race. It would be stupid to try to start a fight- the sounds of gunshots would alert anyone else in the building to your presence. You have to try to take control of the situation some other way, or at least take out the guard without using your weapon.

100 disarm rolled, PHENOMENAL win!

Crystal’s whip wraps around the man’s gun, sending it flipping perfectly through the air and into her hand. With a confident smile, the dominatrix levels it at the man’s head. “Alright then.” she says. “How about you have a seat on the ground there?”

Now surrounded by two armed women, the man backs into the corner and slowly sits down. You grin at Crystal. That was beautifully done. What’s more, it looks like the gun isn’t even encoded to the man’s thumbprint, like most modern weapons. Crystal’s gained herself a new weapon! You saunter over to the man, looking down at him.

“I ain’t gonna tell you shit.” he says. “I’m not dumb enough. Lou would kill me.” You shrug, and take a karate stance. You bring your leg up into the air and slam it down on his head, instantly concussing him and sending him into unconsciousness. You beckon Crystal, and the two of you stealthily move down the hall into the main room.

As you peer around the corner, you see that the large room is a warehouse, of sorts. On a table in the center is a small wooden box with a heavy padlock on the front. You can count at least two people, one man and one women. Additionally, you can hear a soft, high voice talking in a foreign language. Its coming from one of the corner’s but some crates prevent you from getting a good look. There must be three, at least. You find yourself with several options. You could try to pick off one of them from a distance, then engage the others in battle. Although, you’re still not sure what that third voice is. It could be a downright terrifying species. Alternately, you could try to cause a distraction, maybe by shooting something on the other side of the warehouse, then grab the box and make a break for it. You suppose, too, that you could always announce your presence and try to convince them that you’re part of the Grapes of Wrath, here to relieve them. Your coin could help with that, and your new knowledge of the gang’s leader, Lou.

75 bluff rolled, win!

You stand up straight and lead Crystal into the warehouse. The man and woman pull their guns on you at once. “Hey! Stop!” the woman yells. You hold up the coin.

“I’m with you. I’m a representative of the Awakened Union, sent by Lou to collect your end of the deal. Where is it?” The woman nods slowly, then moves over to the man. They appear to have a heated, whispered argument, but then the man relents. He picks up the wooden box off the table and hands it to you. You thank them and turn back towards the hallway. You make it a few steps before a high voice calls after you. “Wait!”

You stop, looking behind you. A beautiful humanoid woman with strange, very dark purple skin is walking towards you. You don’t recognize her species, but it is obviously different from your own. Her eyes are dark, like great pits of shadow. She walks barefoot, and wears only a transparent silken wrap that leaves little to the imagination. Rather than falling down around her shoulders, her short silver hair floats up, as if gravity repels rather than pulls it, coming to a curving, wavy point. You note that she has small bony horns poking up beside her hair. She has a long black tail, which flits about, occasionally wrapping around her legs. She offers you a smile through plump, kissable lips, and then strolls up to you, uncomfortably close. When she is within inches of you, her head darts forward, giving you a small peck on the lips. Your head feels fuzzy.

You realize that whatever power this girl is exerting over you, it’s trying to worm its way into your head. You resist, pulling away from her, putting up mental blocks. “Excuse me?” you protest. “What was that? Please, I have things to do.” you turn away from the girl, heading back out into the hallway. You check to see that you’re not being followed, and then you hurry up, breaking into a run. Whatever that female creature was, you don’t want anything to do with her. You push your way out into the evening air, breathing a sigh of relief as you clutch the wooden box in your hands. That sigh immediately catches in your throat when you see what’s waiting for you outside.

Sven is standing in front of you. But it’s not Sven that worries you, it’s his companions. He is flanked by a man and a woman. The man is Guargan, with four long arms and glaring, angry eyes. He’s not as muscular or as built as many of his kind, but he more than makes up for it in the intimidating look on his face. With a moment of shock, you recognize the woman as Mistress Stell, the woman you competed against in Issues. Stell and the Guargan both hold stun guns. Sven wears a smile.

“Thanks for getting that for me.” he says. “I don’t think I could have done it without you. I’m not sure how you managed to get out. Bravo to you.” he offers a sarcastic clap. “Unfortunately, though, this is where our deal ends. I feel sorry about leading you on, but I need that orb way more than you ever could. You know the drill, give me the box.”

“Son of a bitch!” yells Crystal.

Stell laughs, her voice reflecting the arrogant, flippant bimbo she is. “Sorry, Crys. Looks like I’ll be winning this one too.”

You are silent, staring directly at Sven. His hand remains outstretched. There is a long moment of silence. Then you turn on your heel and you sprint back into the warehouse. Crystal runs behind you. You hear Sven yell something after you, and then the sound of heavy footsteps. They’re chasing you, you can tell without having to look back. You dash down the long hallway and push open the door into the large warehouse. The occupants appear to have been about to leave. The man is wearing an overcoat, and the woman appears to be about to unlock the front door. When they see you run in, chased by a Guargan and a dominatrix, both armed with guns, their jaws drop. In a moment, their weapons are in their hands and they’re charging towards you. The purple-skinned horned woman is nowhere to be seen. You grab Crystal and pull her to the side, as Sven’s band is attacked by the Grapes of Wrath. Two more gang members seem to appear from nowhere, probably having been lurking around the warehouse somewhere. They reveal themselves as Sven yells “Shit!”

You and Crystal duck behind some crates, hiding from the firefight. You can’t see any way out of the warehouse, so it looks like you’ll have to sit tight for now. Crystal still looks annoyed.

“I can’t believe that little bitch betrayed us! God I want to kick his ass.” she growls. You’d normally try to calm her down, but right now you can’t help but agree. You open your mouth to say so but suddenly there is a loud “twang” from the center of the battlefield. You peer out from around your barrel.

The purple-skinned woman is standing in the center of the warehouse. Her tail swishes around her legs. It appears that she’s glowing with a bright white light. Her eyes close as the light expands, enveloping the entire warehouse in its bright glow. You shut your eyes, squinting against the glare. The world seems to melt away, engulfing you in blackness. Then, the warehouse fades back into view. But things have changed. From the ground around the purple woman, great tendrils of blackness have sprouted, waving up into the air. They twist and knot, circling around in the rafters. The two remaining gang members- the man and the woman- back towards them, the shadowy limbs seeming to leave them alone. That leaves you standing by Sven and his gang. The Guargan looks badly wounded, and Stell has received a nasty scratch on her collarbone. Together, the five of you look up at the tendrils.

“Wait!” you yell up at the purple alien. “We’re with you! Stand down!” Her head tilts to the side with a “crack”. You notice that her eyes are a bright white.

“You are not friends.” she says, in a simple, serene tone. “You flee. You are weak. You are not warriors, you are worms. Worthless animals, who lie and cheat.” All this she states without a hint of emotion. One of her tendrils lashes out, slamming Sven against the wall. He groans as he falls to the floor, looking over at you.

24 agility rolled, fail

You sprint around the edge of the warehouse, moving behind Sven’s Guargan. The Guargan looks confused at this move, but then the tentacles rush after you and he realizes. They wrap around him, lifting him up into the air and slamming him into the ground. You take advantage of this distraction, grabbing Crystal and hurrying toward the hallway. As you get close, though, a tendril lazily rolls in front of the door, raising up aggressively. Your guns in your hands, the two of you turn to face the tentacles swirling around you.

E, grenade the alien making all the tentacles hapen, then scram.

26db2d No.10017

You pull your grenade out of your bag. Pulling the pin with your teeth, you draw it back and hurl it at the purple alien. It flies through the air, unassailed by the tentacles, and lands a few feet short of the circle of writing tendrils in which she stands. She peers at the grenade, as if unsure of what it is. One of her tentacles reaches out to grab it, and it explodes. The tendrils near to it are blown away entirely, disintegrating into shreds of dark smoke. The girl screams, as if she herself has been hurt by the grenade. Her tentacles lash around, searching for something to crush in response. As they do, the two Grapes of Wrath members seem to realize that they’re not safe there, both turning and bolting away from the tentacles at a sprint. The woman is too slow. A shadowy tendril wraps around her leg, tripping her and slamming her into the ground before dragging her up into the air. There is a hungry look in the purple girl’s eyes as her tentacles begin to tug at the woman’s clothes. Slightly dazed, the female gangster merely watches the tentacles as they tear her shirt, bra, and pants off, leaving her in her underwear, dangling ten feet above the warehouse floor. Shadowy tendrils wrap around her legs and down her arms, circling her moderately plump breasts and squeezing them. A tendril wraps around her mouth, gagging her feeble protests.

“You’re supposed to be on our team!” yells the male goon, but the purple girl ignores him, set on her new prize. Nearby where he’s run, the tentacles are hurriedly grabbing and snatching at Stell, as she screams and squeals. She’s still free for now, but now that you realize what the tentacles are after, you don’t envy her if she gets caught. She dances and runs around the Guargan, who’s still being bound to the ground by the tentacles.

Across the warehouse, the tentacles circling you lunge forward, twisting and grabbing at you and Crystal

A) Dodge the tendrils (agility)
B) Don’t worry about the tentacles for now, focus on the girl (aim)
C) Try to illicit help from the male goon

86 rolled to dodge, epic win!
28 aim rolled for Crystal, fail!

The black tentacles lunge at you, but you are far too quick. You twist and spin, narrowly dodging every tentacle that is thrown at you. It’s some serious Matrix shit. The smokey limbs slam into the floor, dissipating at the rapid impact. You pump your fist, feeling rather proud of yourself. Looking to your left, you see that Crystal has failed to get a good shot off, and a tentacle has wrapped itself around her leg. You run towards her, jumping over a few low-swiping tendrils, and bring your foot down on the offending tentacle with a devastating kick. As the entire tendril dissolves, the rest seem to get slightly less dark. The purple-skinned girl lazily throws a few more tentacles at you, but she’s far too absorbed with her new prey.

The tentacles wrapping around the captured gang member continue their work. They carelessly rip her underwear into shreds, revealing a trimmed womanhood dripping with moisture. As the tendrils pump a powerful aphrodisiac into her through her mouth, they plunge into her most sacred entrance, working to ensure her pleasure as they squeeze and rub her body. You can see a bulge in her stomach as a shadowy limb stretches her inner limits. She groans pathetically into the tentacle down her throat. The purple girl laughs maniacally.

Meanwhile, you see that Stell has been snared by the tentacles, and is now being dragged across the room, towards the purple girl. The male goon, too, has been snagged by the tendrils. The alien looks almost completely distracted, staring hungrily at its helpless victims. It occurs to you that this could be a golden opportunity, now that none of the tentacles are coming after you. You could rush the purple girl, or try to get a shot off… the attribute absorber in your pocket seems to call out to you. Crystal seems determined to make a similar move, training her new stun gun at the purple alien’s head.

95 aim rolled, epic win!
13 aim rolled for Crystal, epic fail!

Crystal tries to shoot the alien, but a tentacle wraps around her gun arm, lifting her a foot off the ground as it worms down her arm and across her torso. “Fuck off!” she yells, kicking at the tendril. Another tentacle grabs her by the leg, firmly holding her in place as she struggles against them. You can see the appendage squirming its way up her leg, towards her crotch. You evaluate your situation again. Crystal’s in bad need of help, but the alien looks almost totally consumed by her own lust. If you press your advantage, you could win.

The female goon is now being thoroughly violated. Her hair swings around wildly as her body is wracked by the monstrous assaulters. A tentacle has forced its way into her exposed butt, filling every one of her holes completely. You can see the outlines of the thick tentacles moving beneath her skin, utterly destroying her. You don’t envy what her holes will look like when they’re done with her. Meanwhile, Stell has been stripped down to only her bra. Tentacles circle her, lubricating themselves with slimy aphrodisiac. She screams as they do. “Help! Someone help me!” she yells, trying to pull free of the dark tendrils, but to no avail. You can’t help but feel that she’s getting what she deserves as a tentacle lazily slides over her shaved vagina, causing her to yell even louder as she shakes in involuntary pleasure. The male goon is receiving a similar treatment, tentacles wrapping around his rather unimpressive cock, beginning to jerk it off. It’s clear to you now that the purple girl thrives on sexual energy. You don’t want to know what happens when she absorbs enough. Clearly she’s in her element, as evidenced by the lusty smile on her face. Her tail whips around in happiness, and her horns seem to have taken on an unearthly shine.

Sven is slowly climbing to his feet, raising the gun in his hand at the purple girl. He glances over at you. “Help me… take her… down. I’ll… explain everything… I’m sorry I lied to you…” his eyes are pleading, and more his signature smarm has been replaced with teary, grim, earnestness. Perhaps he cares for Stell, or has a more upright motive than what you originally expected.

You steady your racing heart, and raise the gun in your hand. You feel a sense of complete calm wash over you, your mind clearing of panic and fear. The sights of your weapon level on the girl. You squeeze the trigger once, your bolt hitting her in the side. Pivoting on your heel, you take aim at Crystal and fire three times. The bolts hit their mark perfectly, dissolving away every tendril grabbing her. She falls to the ground, nodding at you in thanks. The purple girl glares over at you, and you stare her down, not giving away a hint of fear. You can see some concern sinking into her face.

Crystal moves to stand by you and raises her gun. “Should we end this?” she asks.

A) Gun down the purple alien, once and for all (aim)
B) Try to kick through the tentacle blocking your escape (strength)

93 aim rolled, epic win!
99 aim rolled for Crystal, phenomenal win!

You are Crystal take careful aim and release a barrage of gunfire at the purple girl. The first bolt knocks her off her feet. The second, third, and fourth slam into her body and send her skidding across the room. Her tendrils vanish in a flash of light, dropping both the goons and Stell on the floor. You step forward, through the scattered bodies. The male goon appears to be unconscious, having hit his head in the fall. The female lies on the ground, panting, her fuck-hole gaping and wide from the brutal treatment she just received. “Fucking… Krion… bitch…” she pants, exhausted and weak. Stell climbs to her feet, pulls up her pants, and walks over to you, her brown hair a mess.

“Thanks for helping me.” she says sheepishly. “I’m sorry about the club yesterday. I was a bitch.” You graciously accept her apology and ignore her as she runs to Sven’s aid. After walking a few more feet, you arrive at the purple alien. As you watch her, she begins to shake. She tears her see-through wrap off, exposing her impeccable body to the world. Then, not seeming to care that you’re watching her, she plunges her fingers into her purple slit, furiously pumping them in and out in an effort to get off. You must have shot her so many times that the sex energy she absorbed rebounded on her, turning her into a horny, whorish mess. You can hear the wet “shlick” of her sopping pussy as she pushes her fingers inside. It’s quite a pathetic show. Crystal grins down at her. She draws a collapsable riding crop out of her boot and smacks the purple girl’s exposed thigh with it.

“That’s right, show us how worthless you are.” she gloats, hitting the alien again. She laughs, grabbing the purple woman by one of her horns and lifting her head up triumphantly. Her face is flushed and red, contorted in an expression of desperation and pleasure. How embarrassing for her. You look down at the alien as Crystal begins to spank her, thinking about your next move

You hold up the small coin-shaped attribute absorber to the purple girl’s forehead. She doesn’t try to resist, still furiously masturbating while Crystal beats her ass. The absorber glows a bright green, pulling some ethereal presence out of her. With a sudden shock, it seems to pour into you. You stumble back a few steps as you get a feel for your new powers. You feel uniquely in touch with the arousal of every person in the room. You can feel their sexual energy radiating around you. The intensity of the Krion’s lust, the exhaustion of the female thug, the dominant cruelty of Crystal and Stell… all of it is apparent to you. You feel that with a touch, you can worm your way inside a person’s head, implanting feelings of lust or reading their emotional state. You are a being of carnal intellect, able to manipulate a person’s own feelings against them.

Mind probe attack gained! You can now break into a person’s brain with a single touch, and generate feelings of anger, lust, or affection! You also have access to basic mind-reading, which will allow you to detect a person’s emotional state! This ability can be enhanced by mental implants, and functions as an intelligence roll!

You step away from the purple girl as Crystal tosses her on the ground in a heap. When you turn, Sven is approaching you, still badly hurt, walking with Stell’s help.
“I’m sorry, Jennifer.” he says. It’s odd that he knows your name, you never told him. “I had to get that orb from you. I thought you were going to sell it to the Awakened Union, like the rest of them. Now that I’ve seen you, though, I don’t think you are. We were wrong about you. You lunge toward Sven, hand outstretched. He yelps, pulling back away from you, clearly thinking you’re about to attack him. Instead, though, you simply grab him by the face. He yells something into your hand, but he can’t communicate anything clear. You feel your consciousness plunging into him, ripping his mind open, violating its depths. He feels honest. But also sad, somehow. Either way, he’s not lying, or if he is, he’s a real master of deception.

Sven pulls away from you, looking at you like you’re insane. “Al…right. Anyway, as I was saying, I’m not trying to sell that orb for myself. I don’t want it for personal gain. I NEED it. Not because I want the Amor Crystal, or because I want to make a profit, but because I have to keep it safe. Jennifer, I’m one of the last people in the galaxy who wants to keep it safe. There are only about a half-dozen of us left.” Your expression must be making your confusion clear, because he sighs. “You’re working for a corporation that wants to use the most powerful mind-destroying device in the galaxy for personal gain. That purple girl over there?” he points at the alien, who’s still hungrily masterbating. “That’s the sort of shit that crystal does. And that’s what Sonas wants to do to people who oppose them. On a universal scale. Seriously, I’m talking about some serious apocalypse stuff here. The AU is just as bad. They both want the crystal because they want to turn the galaxy into a den of lust and chaos. I don’t want that to happen. Stell catches a cab, offering Sven a brief kiss on the cheek before she goes. Once you’re alone with Sven and the Guargan, he turns to you.

“We’ve taken to calling ourselves the Purifiers. Our intent is simple: keep the galaxy clean and free of darkness. I know I’m not the type of guy who seems like he’d take up altruistic causes, but it’s important. I’m sure you agree. This is Bor.” he waves to the Guargan, who grunts. “He’s one of our members. The only other one on this planet. Stell’s just a friend, she agreed to help me out but she’s not much good when our backs are to the wall. We have a few contacts and helpers across the galaxy, but overall we’re not working with much. I won’t lie, we’re the underdogs. But hey, you seem like a tough girl. I’m sure you can help us handle everything that comes. A dozen deadbeats and losers against the Awakened Union doesn’t seem like such a bad deal.” He grins. There’s a small “bleep” from your communicator. He must have added you as a contact.

New contact added: Sven! Sven can now be called for advice or help at any time.

“Anyway, I’ve come up with a rather ingenious plan. You’ve still got an extra orb, right? I want you to sell it to the Awakened Union. If you pass them off a fake orb, they’ll be on the wrong track for months! What do you say? I’ll make sure you get a disguise, of course, and I’ll be there to help you out if things go south. All I need you to do is hand off the orb. We’ll make tons of credits, and we can use that to buy better ships, or to hire mercenaries, or even invest in a space station!” He beams. “Great idea, right?”

C - we trick AU without risking our pretty ass in disguise.
The coup works as follows; We go back to the historical society selling the real orb to hedgins. The night after that we sneak in and switch the real with the fake orb. Then we spread the word, that the orb found its way back into the historical society. AU will steal it and won't suspect shit about the orbs realness.

Sven smiles. “Relax. I’ll make the call now.” He taps a few numbers into his communicator. “Hey Ferrol! Yeah, remember that orb we talked about? I’ve got it! And I’m looking to sell, too. What was the price they were offering? Fifteen thousand? You’re kidding. No? Alright, sounds good. How about this: tell them to meet my representative at the fifth spaceport dock, blue block. Say… 9:00 PM tonight. I need an hour or so to get ready anyway. Yeah, I won’t bring more than two people. Good? Great man, I’ll see you then.” He hangs up the call. “You heard what he said. 9:00 PM. That gives you a little over an hour. If you want to do anything else on this planet, now’s your last chance. After we get that 15,000, we’re GONE. We’ll rendezvous on the Nexus 4 station. Tell you what, I’ll meet you at the fifth spaceport of blue block at quarter of 9:00. Don’t bring more than one friend. I’ll see you then.” Sven turns away, hailing down a cab and heading off who knows where.

Crystal turns to you. “15,000 is a hell of a lot of money, you know. We could probably keep it for ourselves, screw his galactic rescue quest. Just something to think about.” You tell her you’ll take her opinion into account. You consider heading straight to the rendezvous point, it could give you some time to get the lay of the land, maybe even set up some emergency measures. You and Crystal grab a cab, heading towards the District Authority. She perks up when you mention that you’re there looking for Siegroy. After a few minutes of driving through the city at dusk, you arrive at a massive skyscraper with a large-official-looking entrance. You lead Crystal up the wide steps and to the door. The guard watching there confiscates your weapons, promising you’ll have them back when you leave. He ushers you into the massive lobby. Inside the building is stately and official-looking, the telltale marble and pure white of a government building is everywhere. You walk up to the reception desk, displaying your identification. The receptionist gives you a friendly smile.

She nods, punching the information you provided into her desktop screen, probably searching some database or another. “Actually, animal control did bring in a creature matching that description… but it was retrieved earlier this evening. The service fees were paid by… a benefactor that remained anonymous, it seems. The fee was paid in physical credits, so I’m afraid I don’t have a record of who had it released. However, the pound overseer reported that the individual who paid for him was able to prove ownership beyond a reasonable doubt.”

To give you an idea of how the system works: a 70-90 would mean they had him, for a price, and a 90-100 would get him back for free. “I have to report an Awakened Union agent on the planet.” The receptionist’s eyes snap up, as she straightens to attention.

“What?”

“I spotted an Awakened Union soldier in the central library. He stole some data disks concerning the Union. I thought I should report it to somebody.” She nods, tapping away at her computer.

“Thank you, ma’am. I’ll get that reported to the police right away. Your tip is appreciated. Should you be required to testify to the police or before a court as an anonymous source, you will be notified via your communicator.” She gives you a serious nod. You turn away, leading Crystal out of the building and back to a taxi cab. It’s almost 9:00. You should hurry to the rendezvous. Your hand instinctively goes into your bag, making sure the false orb is still there. Time to go get your 15,000 credits.

Your cab pulls up to the fifth spaceport dock of blue block. The dock is empty, except for Sven, who stands at the foot of the stairs leading up to the raised dock. You approach him and he gives you a cheery smile, handing you a small pill. “This’ll disguise you enough. It only lasts about an hour though, so make things quick.”

You gulp down the pill, barely swallowing it. It feels slimy in your throat. Once it settles in your stomach, you groan, feeling a pain in your belly. You bend over, clutching your torso. You feel a warm heat spread throughout your body, and then a cooling sensation. When you straighten back up, Sven pulls up the mirror app of his communicator and holds it up to you. Your skin has darkened slightly, taking on a tan hue. Your hair has become a dark brown. Your facial features are the same, but it would still take a very critical eye to recognize you. Confident in the quality of your disguise, you take the false orb out of your bag and step forward onto the dock. Almost as soon as you do, you hear the hum of engines and see a small white ship break away from the flurry of traffic above your head. The vessel sets down across the dock, and two figures step out. The first gingerly helps the other, offering a hand to help her step out of the vehicle. You realize with grim clarity that it’s Alex.

The Awakened Unon soldier that is her escort paces forwards, holding a briefcase in his hands. His rifle is slung across his back and his face is obscured by a dark visor. Alex strolls up behind him, dressed in a dark business suit, swaying on tall stiletto heels. Her cold, angular face looks down on you, the cybernetic implant in her head glinting a bit.

“Let’s get this over with.” she says. As she speaks, you feel a presence in your mind, probing deep into your thoughts. You could feign ignorance, and pretend not to notice this, though it could run the risk of discovery. Or, you could use your new mental powers to strike back against her.

A) Feign ignorance and protect your thoughts normally (easy intelligence)

You steel your mind, creating a cognitive wall against her. Alex’s probe worms around in your head for a few seconds, but then pulls out, finding nothing suspicious about your identity or your thoughts. She gives a satisfied smile and looks over at Sven. “That’s the orb?” she asks, pointing at the fake one in your hand.

“You bet.” Sven says. “That’s my 15,000?” Alex nods, waving to the Awakened Union soldier. He strides over to Sven, handing him the briefcase. Alex snatches the orb out of your hand and looks it over, her manicured fingers examining its details. Crystal glares at her a little, looking offended at your rival’s arrogant demeanor, but you shake your head subtly at her.

“This was the orb stolen from the historical society?” Alex asks.

“That’s correct.” Sven says. “I’m sure you’ll find it to be satisfying.” Alex gives him a cold look and he stops talking.

“Very well then.” she says, turning around and walking back to her ship, tossing the orb in her hands a few times as she goes. The Awakened Union soldier stays put. “Oh, Gordon?” Alex calls back. “Once you’ve beaten them to a pulp and taken back that 15,000, report back to the cruiser. I’d like to see you for a personal meeting.” Slex steps into her ship, closing the door behind herself. A moment later, the white spaceship boosts off the ground and hovers away.

“Wait, what?” asks Sven as the Awakened Union soldier (Gordon, according to his boss) removes his rifle from his back and points it at Sven. “Oh you’ve got to be kidding me.” he groans. “Really? 65 rolled to aim, win!

You quickly draw your blaster, gripping the cold metal of the handle tightly. Firing from the hip, you land a shot on the soldier’s arm, bending it away from his gun and preventing him from firing at Sven. Before you can get another shot off, the soldier jumps away, propelled by agility accelerators, moving speedily to the other side of the landing platform. He touches two fingers to the side of his helmet, causing his visor to fold back and his face to be revealed. His features are smarmy and confident, with a trimmed goatee and tight curls. He laughs.

“That wasn’t a bad shot, girl. Still-” He cocks his rifle, flipping a switch on the side. The barrel’s exhaust ports glow pink. “-you’re no match for me. I’ll tell you what: I’ll make this easy on you, use comfortable stun bolts. Then, once I’ve thoroughly kicked all three of your asses across this landing, I’ll let you go to work on my OTHER gun.”

“We’ll see what happens to your “gun” sneers Crystal, spinning her pistol in one hand. Sven moves up to your other side, unarmed and jittery. “Are you… are you really sure about this?”

“Enough talking!” yells George. He propels himself through the air on his accelerators again, firing in your direction. You freeze, preparing to dodge. As your muscles tense in preparation, you quickly consider your next move. George is heavily armed and armored- there’s a chance you might lose this fight. 65 resist rolled for Sven, win!

Sven coughs, waving his hand to dissipate the smoke. He covers his mouth and nose, cleverly keeping himself from breathing any in. He fights his way through the thick fog, eventually plunging out the other side. Unfortunately, he finds himself on the opposite edge of the landing platform from Gordon and you. Sven turns to run around the edge, fists readied.

You fire a bolt at Gordon, but he easily dodges it, sprinting towards you instead. He pivots with one foot, pulling the other up into an accelerator-enhanced kick that sends your pistol spiraling up through the air. It clatters off the landing platform harmlessly, several meters away from you. You find yourself unarmed in front of Gordon. His rifle snaps up to fire a bolt behind him, where Crystal is still running towards the two of you. His other hand grabs the front of your shirt, clasping it in an iron grip with his gloved hand.

70 agility rolled for Crystal, win!
87 strength rolled, epic win!

Crystal dodges out of the way, tripping slightly but not enough to topple her. She squints slightly and carefully aims her sights at Gordon’s back, preparing to fire.

Make a 45+ aim roll for Crystal!

Sven, meanwhile, has gathered up his resolve and charges at where you and Gordon are grappling with each other. Putting his shoulder down, he sprints towards the mercenary with a loud but unintimidating yell.

Make a 60+ strength roll for Sven!

As your allies work to free you, you lash out with a powerful snap kick, catching the armored mercenary in the stomach. You manage to catch a gap in his armor, shoving him away from you and snapping off a plate of the carbon-fiber reinforcers as you do. That could make things easier. He’s pushed back away from you, the strength of your kick managing to break his grip on your shirt. The mercenary tosses a set of bolas at Crystal, hoping to bind her feet, while his other hand hurls a small sphere of the same kind he threw at Sven at you.

A) Keep up the attack (strength)
B) Dodge to get out of the smoke bomb’s range (agility)
C) Snatch up your gun
D) Unleash your mind attacks

Crystal gets a solid shot off, hitting Gordon in the back and sending him stumbling forward. The bola wraps around her feet, causing her to collapse in a faceplant on the ground. She tugs at the ropes, trying to pull herself free and get back up as quickly as possible.

Make a 35+ agility roll for Crystal!

Sven moves quickly towards the mercenary, shoulder down. He’s within a foot when Gordon spins on his heel, grabbing Sven by his wavy brown hair and spinning him around, sending him flying into Crystal. The blue girl is pushed back to the ground, tripping over the bolas restraining her. Sven managed to hit himself in the head with the case of money as he topples to the ground, knocking himself out at once.

You build up an intense collection of sexual thoughts in your head, calling forth every desire and lustful idea you can think of. Images of breasts, thick cocks, and ripe cunt fill up your head. Then you drive them forward, pushing them towards Gordon’s head. What you find there is not an open mind, ready to be attacked, but a powerful mental wall. You have a second to realize the failure of your attempt before the cognitive lust bomb bounces back at you. All the feelings you sent to him suddenly rush into your body. Your clothes seem to constrict against you, clinging tight to your body. Your ass clenches and your knees buckle as you let out a cry of pleasure. You can feel wetness cascading out of your womanhood, soaking your underwear and even leaving a small wet spot on your shorts. A thin stream of drool rolls out of the side of your mouth as your tongue lolls. As it does, the smoke bomb explodes around you, filling your field of vision with a thick cloud of green smoke. You can barely see a foot in front of you.

A) Stay put and focus on gathering your thoughts (intelligence)
B) Run out of the smoke to safety as quickly as possible (agility and resist)
C) Try to find your gun (search check, aided by your visor)

Crystal snaps the bolas in half, springing back to her feet and beating a quick path to Gordon’s back. She plants a solid kick to the back of his thigh, tripping him up. His rifle clatters off the edge of the landing platform, falling far far down to the planet’s floor. Gordon yells in anger, kicking out towards the blue-skinned woman. Crystal grabs his foot, tugging at it in an effort to pull him off balance.

You stumble through the thick smoke, but you can’t seem to find any way out. You’ve begun to sweat, your clothes feeling hot and uncomfortable in your need to be naked and exposed. You still can’t shake off the thoughts of sex and lust that bounce around inside your head. Somehow, you’ve managed to trip over yourself, knocking your head on the hard ground. You hear the yells of combat outside the smoke, but you can’t seem to find any way out.

A) Focus on ridding your head of your horniness (will stop your horniness meter from increasing)
B) Go for your gun (search with bonus)
C) Try to get out of the smoke (agility)
D) Yell in an effort to wake up Sven (resist roll for Sven)
