We already have style and meme threads, but we need more avenues for disseminating our ideas.

I was thinking we might be able to use music to help make people think. We already know the /pol/ likes skinhead shit, metal, and some classical, but these genres aren't very accessible to the mainstream masses.

I think we should try to start diversifying we scenes that have bands with traditional themes. They won't have to be explicit; we just need to harken back to the past and raise questions about the future.

Embed is kinda what I mean. Genres like indie, folk, and country are prime targets. Rap, electronic, and pop would be great because they're poplar, but they're also more resistant to our opinions.

I disagree. You can use any genre and add lyrics that help people get a better understanding of the world,
Having said that, there's virtually no music out there, that meets this criteria, regardless of the genre.
The best we can do right now is music without lyrics that uplifts the spirit.
Metal, punk, dubstep, rap, etc. are low-spirit types of music that resonates with people's animalistic, libidinal side
Dubstep in particularl reminds me of the line from 2081 "The strong wear weights, the beautiful wear masks and the intelligent wear earpieces that fire off loud noises to keep them from taking unfair advantage of their brains."

It's difficult to explain music, but when you contrast the dubstep noise with the calm serenity of pachelbel, you'll understand what i mean.

One of the most important things to consider when it comes to music is the effect on brainwaves and the body.
We know that the beats per minute and the type of beat used has an impact on the listeners heart rate, pulse and blood pressure, as well as the respiratory rate and organ functions.
http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/music-therapy-heart-cardiovascular/

We also know that music can induce various brainwave states by rythmic oscillation of neural activity.

Delta wave – (0.1 – 3 Hz)
Theta wave – (4 – 7 Hz)
Alpha wave – (8 – 15 Hz)
Mu wave – (7.5 – 12.5 Hz)
SMR wave – (12.5 – 15.5 Hz)
Beta wave – (16 – 31 Hz)
Gamma wave – (32 – 100 Hz)

> 40 Hz Gamma waves
Higher mental activity, including perception, problem solving, fear, and consciousness
13–39 Hz Beta waves
Active, busy or anxious thinking and active concentration, arousal, cognition, and or paranoia
7–13 HzAlpha waves
Relaxation (while awake), pre-sleep and pre-wake drowsiness, REM sleep, Dreams
8–12 Hz Mu waves
Mu rhythm, Sensorimotor rhythm
< 4–7 Hz Theta waves
Deep meditation/relaxation, NREM sleep
< 4 Hz Delta waves Deep dreamless sleep, loss of body awareness

>Binaural beats

Binaural beats, or binaural tones, are auditory processing artifacts, or apparent sounds, caused by specific physical stimuli. This effect was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove and earned greater public awareness in the late 20th century based on claims coming from the alternative medicine community that binaural beats could help induce relaxation, meditation, creativity and other desirable mental states. The effect on the brainwaves depends on the difference in frequencies of each tone: for example, if 300 Hz was played in one ear and 310 in the other, then the binaural beat would have a frequency of 10 Hz.

All of these techniques have one thing in common, they are frequencies.
Tonal frequencies, vibrations, electromagnetic frequencies, light flickering, etc.
Tesla was right when he said that the universe is nothing but energy, frequencies and vibrations.
The manipulation of which can manipulate human beings.

Thanks, this is super cool!

Should we brainstorm some things that might be easy put subtly put into a song?

I think maybe writing love songs about wives would appeal to women, and maybe songs about self-reliance would draw men's attention.

Do you know any musicians?
Your ideas are good, but useless in the hands of non-musicians.

Yeah, I don't. Guess I'll have to learn music theory. But throw me bone and give me some ideas for what to put in the songs, if you please.
