I'm not sure why more people on this thread aren't considering hanging, it's really not painful according to most people that have attempted and failed - they failed because the rope either failed or they were discovered before death, if it's a suspended hanging and you're compressing the arteries properly you'd pass out in 13 seconds but probably less. North stradbroke would have some good climbable trees to hang from.
