I created a playlist that contains two songs from Silent Planet's "The Night God Slept" album, two that are pure melodies that string together quite well. Not exactly dark, more melancholic/reflecting.

I usually just listen to animu and video game music and that's usually cheery or at least energetic stuff. Don't listen to much music actually. Maybe if I got headphones that didn't make it painful I could cheer up a little or at least enjoy music.

Here's some sort of moodier stuff off the top of my head though (I'd provide links but my tablet's memory pretty much makes this impossible):

-Madoka's "Magia" I think there might be an official English version alongside it but I'm fond of fanmade German one on Youtube.

-The soundtrack for the When They Cry series of anime (Higurashi and it's sequel of sorts Umineko) has some good stuff, look up the OPs and EDs at least.

-The first Mirai Nikki OP and ED (the anime's retarded though, expect as much even if it's a guilty pleasure).

-I've opened Touhou 6: The Embodyment of Flandre Scarlet a few times just to listen to Flandre's theme "UN Owen Was Her?" on loop for awhile in the jukebox. Maybe you're sick to death of that if you browsed Youtube enough though.

That's about all off the top of my head, I'll post more once I see what's on my hard drive and remember (if you're interested).

I love post-punk, punk-hardcore, also indie folk is good. My favourite band is The Smiths, my favourite artist Elliott Smith. I also like Nick drake, Mayday Parade, Joy Division, Molly Drake, Ice Nine Kills, Falling In Reverse and sometimes I like drone music (shit I know but it helps me think).

It's just part of /a/ culture to pretend that we're all little girls. This isn't /a/ so I'm free to say it. It's actually kind of comforting for some reason, at least after you've spent some time there.

Anyway, I think I'll go suicide by hypothermia. Copious amounts of vodka to help lower my core temperature, sleeping meds, and a really fucking cold bath. Should do the trick, though I'd like to introduce a bag of ice to help out.

Same, like I do like other, happier or at least not as depressive music, but it's never been as appealing to me as black metal style stuff is.

Anything Grunge or Heavy Metal is pretty good for me, tbh. It's what I recommend. Nirvana is kind of too mainstream, but they are pretty good. I listen to Soundgarden sometimes. Sabaton is a pretty good Metal band, but not really on the dark side.
