For those of you who have had near-death experiences, what was it like? Let us know what we're missing.

Eternal layers of black? Supernatural? Or was it what I personally hope it is, just nothing. No black. Just a vacuum where worldly pain and torment is voided.

188819 No.12851

That's hard to describe. Not so much black, as nothing. When your whole visual cortex shuts off, the concept of color goes away. Basically, the mind falls apart untill there's almost nothing left, and then oblivion.

I'll be honest, dying wasn't desirable until it was inevitable. When I knew that everything was done, and I wasn't going to come back, it was a great relief. Everything shut off, and there was nothing.

Then it call came back, and it was hell. Of course, that was death by suffocation from heart failure, not exsanguination or drug abuse.

That's what I was hoping for, honestly. Just an absence of everything. An escape, y'know.

I can imagine slipping away, as our world kind of has a preoccupation with it.

But what was it like coming back? Maybe that will be a bit easier to describe

Like being eaten alive by fire ants. I'm almost sick of reciting this, but ah well.

Ever fall asleep on your arm? What happens when you wake up? Ah, totally numb. Very funny. But shit, what comes next? That awful tingling once oxygenated blood starts getting back into everything. Then it's agonizing to move or touch anything for a bit.

Imagine that throughout your entire body. Under your fingernails. Down your throat. Behind your eyes. Everywhere you didn't even think you could feel. When that faded a bit, hearing came back, followed by vision, but that took much longer to restore fully. Spent a while on the floor gasping for breath while trying not to move because of that goddamn painful tingling everywhere.

Every account seems to be whatever afterlife the person believed they'd see in life. The religious see heaven, the "spiritual" meet their dead family members, atheists sometimes see nothing but usually see the cliche "light at the end of a tunnel" stuff.

It lends credence to the idea that the afterlife is one huge sandbox-mode lucid dream.

Does anyone report seeing their waifu?

The people they loved in life, yeah. I don't think they've ever interviewed a wizard, since most of them try to kill themselves rather than die by accident

Beginner's guide to NDEs

The website itself is very "oh-em-gee-I'm such a nerd" trash but the sources cited in this particular article are all very reputable

>heart failure

As a heart attack? Some of the methods I may choose for my end have heart attacks as the ultimate cause of death and was wondering if its painful. Some say it is, others just say you pass out before it gets unbearable.

Heart defect that causes ventricular defibrillation. Arrhythmia. Heart fucks off rather often.

Everything cut out except I still had a "field of vision" (but I couldn't see anything around me), for a lack of better words

I hallucinated this rainbow mushroom cloud, felt like a mental bomb was going off

No pain or anything, had a body buzz before my senses got cut off that was reminiscent of a big whiff of nitrous oxide

Was from carotid compression.

As long as reincarnation or back to square one aren't in the menu. . . I don't care, oblivion sounds pretty good though like those sweet counted times where your mind frees you of the dreaming torture.

According to one plausible physics theory, this universe as it is will reoccur infinitely. You will literally experience the same life youve lived until now and until you die, forever.

It basically says that universes pop out of nothing/true-vacuum all the time in what is more properly called reality. Of course not all are the same but we're talking about eternity here.
