It's -6 celsius outside and theres a snowstorm

If I soak my clothes in water and lay on the ground how long will it take me to die of hypothermia?

5a3cbe No.13500

No idea, but to significantly increase your chance of death it would be recommended that you get drunk beforehand.

>>13500

What would that do apart from making it more bearable?

900aad No.13508

It'll take about 10-30 minutes.

000000 No.13510

Dumb way to become an hero. If you're found before you die, you might have to go on living with no fingers and toes. You could also lose your nose and ears, or even limbs. If you think life sucks now, try it with a ruined face and without the digits you need to pull a shotgun trigger or tie a noose.

I suppose it could work if you're absolutely sure you won't be found.

Alcohol makes a person more susceptible to hypothermia. I believe it's because it's a vasodilator and you lose more heat.

4e10a9 No.13511

I'd say a good few hours of exposure.

Well how long would it take? I'd like to eventually be found, so my family knows what happened to me.

ec3ce5 No.13537

Trust me on this one, hypothermia is not a pleasant way to go. I tried freezing myself and it was the most single excruciating thing i have ever done.

There are better ways to kill yourself.

e5e535 No.13546

Several hours in air

If wet/raining or submerged in water time shortens significantly. To give you an idea fishermen in the arctic circle who fall in the water can become unconscious in 30 seconds and have their heart stop minutes after that.

I recommend you get very drunk, find a lake where you can partially submerge yourself and fall asleep. Falling asleep in snow works just as well, but takes longer.

>I'd like to eventually be found

You'll be found perfectly preserved when the snow melts.

Seriously, just curl up below a window at your house or something. If your family goes looking for you, they'll check everywhere except the house itself. Then spring rolls around and your almost perfectly preserved body emerges from the snow and someone finds you.

Here if Finland homeless people freeze to death in - 20 Celsius winter lwhen they pass out drunk in middle of a blizzard or snowstorm.

Getting drunk and passing out in below zero temperatures is likely to kill you.

I would've done so long time ago if I was able.

f3a600 No.13601

Here in Finland we find 12+ homeless or drunk people dead after winter passes ( It's not uncommon to have minus 20 Celsius temperatures over here)

Trust me on this one, once you pass out you won't feel a damn thing IF you really drank yourself under the table.

Bonus points for picking a isolated spot, just to make sure that you will not be found.
