People have suggested this, but I think the major issue is the animal instincts that kick in when your primitive brain begins to realize wtf you're doing. The major way to inhibit this is to drink a lot of alcohol. Unfortunately, if you drink alcohol, you can't exactly master the "shoot myself in the mouth with a bucketshot-loaded shotgun aimed upwards at 45 degrees to the brain stem while standing from a tree branch at least 12 feet off the ground big enough to support my drop-hang weight in the middle of the woods but somehow right over a railroad track while a train is coming yet far enough away from the rest of civilization to stop people from trying to 'save' me right after I downed a bottle of pills and slit my wrists but before I put an exit bag over my head and pull the trigger"-guaranteed-suicide-attempt technique because it's a little bit too complicated for a brain that's completely fucking hammered to near alcohol poisoning levels.

alternatively

>shoot self, jump

>have little to no control on how you land

>land on butt or feet

>die after several hours/days of excruciating pain

>or worse, after several hours/days of excruciating pain survive, but permanently disabled

Maybe if you had some sort of drugs it would work.

Well I don't see the problem with eating cherry pits and swallowing some pills with alcohol before turning the exig bag on.
