Bought a 12 Guage earlier in the week but I don't know much about guns, I can't leave just yet do to obligations I feel I should stick to but for when I can end it, what type of ammo should I use (should I use slugs?) and how should I shoot myself?

BTW the shotgun I bought was a Maverick 88, would you consider that a good choice? I bought it because it was cheap (ain't exactly rolling in cash)?
