Pretty based, death is always a benefit and dying instantaneously in a crash was even if you disagree a more painless, swift death than most of the passengers would have experienced otherwise (bedbound with cancer and various other painful ailments etc). In a world where approx 200,000 people die daily, thousands of which due to hunger/thirst, diarrhea, AIDS, torture and/or execution, all this drama about a single plane just makes me think back to the discussion between Joker and Harvey about things going according to plan.

The "evidence" of that is a bunch of vague comments made, sometimes years before the crash. The sort of vague comments that most people make when they get annoyed over some bureaucratic slight or piece of political news.
If this had been motivated by ideology, he'd have left a manifesto.
However, most people just can't accept that reality doesn't have to make sense, and that random shit can happen and kill a whole bunch of people for absolutely no reason. So they'll grasp a bunch of straws, make up some nonsense, try to find out about his bad childhood or depression or whatever. Anything to avoid facing the truth: He didn't need a reason to kill 150+ people. And someone else will do it again, and they won't need a reason. There is nothing special or meaningful about life, it is a chemical reaction that continues until some external force terminates it, and sometimes that force is a guy crashing a plane into the side of the mountain.

I think the exact opposite is true actually.
If more suicidal people started doing mass murder-suicides like this it would bring more attention to it and make people realize that if maybe these people had legal and easy, painless methods to kill themselves, it would make it less likely that they would resort to things like this.
Imagine if when this guy was searching for suicide methods on his computer and he found that all he had to do is go to a clinic in his town and could die easily and painlessly with doctor supervision to make sure it worked right.
