I'm not Catholic, but I doubt God sends all those millions of Catholics to Hell every year. Maybe the suicide = trip to Hell thing is exaggerated.

Hell might have been invented to cut off the only escape slaves had left. It is just another tool to control your mind.

If god is truly a loving being, he would never condemn anyone to such a place.

OP is talking about Christianity, not Catholicism. Catholics are mere men. Churches are mere men. Read the bible. The word teaches of specific instances of suicide, but there is nothing condemning suicide. Thou shall not kill is fell back on by many. You repent of your sins. Nothing says you have to repent after every time. Repent before the sin of suicide. I will.

I don't know if I believe in hell or not, but the fear of hell is really making it hard for me. I like to think that when I'm dead I'll be reunited with my one friend, or at the very least, there will be nothing after death, but the fear that I'll be thrown into a lake of fire scares me. I'm not a bad person, the worst thing I've ever done was fap to ponies.

Every single time Hell was mentioned in the bible it was literally translated from the term "Sheol". The place of the dead. The location of departed spirits. The bible itself in many variations will tell you there is no immediate heaven or hell when you die. You go to sleep until the second coming of Jesus, to resurrect all for judgment. This sleep is described in as many bibles as unconsciousness. Verses allude to "no thoughts, no emotions" basically no awareness". The first resurrection is of the righteous, and they are brought up with Him. I don't think he even touches the earth at that point. The second is of the wicked, and they are put back to Sheol forever. To sleep. Modern churches are of evil. Eternal spirits? "Surely you won't die" was the snake's ploy in the garden of Eden, and was such a good lie it was used ever since. The body with the breath of life is the soul. Genesis will tell you that.

Regardless, I am going to somewhat agree that lust without action isn't a sin. Here's a most famously misinterpreted passage, described well by the author of this page.

The point being, that "lust" was inserted in place of the original "covet", much the same way "hell" was inserted into the many terms known as "Sheol", which simply meant the state of death. Coveting is the act of acquiring, not desiring.
