I just came to a realization regarding guns.
I used to think "guns are bad, and although it would take forever, we should outlaw them in America and take away everyone's guns". Of course this is totally incompatible with my thoughts regarding the abusive behavior of police and the likelihood of an even more oppressive form of government taking control during my lifetime. Ah, but there's an important difference. Lando was an interesting character who was charismatic, clever, and an expert pilot in his own right. While Fin or what ever his name is an incompetent baboon who (if the plot synopsis is true) fails at every task given to him and is inexplicably dragged around from one scene to the next by either the white dude, or the strong independent female protagonist for no reason other than to have a token PoC around. Hell, the script apparently even makes sure to point out that the only reason they give him the light saber is because the Yoda Wannabe knows that's the best way to make sure the all important Mary Sue will get it instead.
Really, Fin is a much more accurate representation of how most liberals really see black people. So of course, they consider him to be more progressive than Space Billy Dee Williams or Space Samuel L Jackson.

Hahahaaa, that latest Dark Science page. I swear, over 5 months ago, when Dickass put up the page where it shows a shitload of panels of the fat nigger talking to Vonnie and giving her the job working for the villain group, I predicted that Vonnie's previously-shown character flaws were going to melt away and she'd be exactly like all the other mary sues in this garbage comic. I think I even sent an ask to SWC about it.
Now, Vonnie wasn't good before. Not by any stretch of the imagination. But, by comparison to all the other characters in Dark Science, I believe she had SOME tiny shred of redemption in how her personality was. She was, at the very least, an HONEST portrayal of a woman. She was shown to be overly worried with her social status to the point that she frequently has emotional breakdowns. She was shown to be VULNERABLE and had emotional weakness. Compare that to all the other flawless, genius whores in Dresden Codak, where their success, independence, and anti-conformism is constantly being waved in your face.
Before, I thought Vonnie was a bit refreshing, in a way. She actually conformed to the laws and social norms of the setting, she seemed like she actually lived there. It's constantly STATED that the city is this stifling and has extremely rigid rules, but that only ever seemed to apply to Vonnie and a couple other random, rarely-seen characters. The vast majority of characters who are shown are all ANTI-CONFORMIST, MAAAAN! DOWN WITH THE SYSTEM! I think even the villains are supposed to be another group that's opposing the government, aren't they? Completely pointless to constantly STATE how shitty and stifling this city is, but never SHOW it because every single significant character is an independent, anarchistic badass who never sees the actual consequences of living in this supposedly oppressive society. The only character that exemplified this in ANY vaguely significant way was Vonnie.
I thought it was actually a decent idea that Vonnie pussied out of helping Kim escape, and then went to the authorities to give herself up, because she's emotionally weak and overly concerned with obeying rules. But then she apparently got arrested (very vague there), and apparently gets hired by the fat nigger while in jail? (again very vague and poorly presented). And then next time you see her, the fat nigger is asking her some "test questions" to see if she's ready to become an awesome mary sue like the rest of the gang, and she answers all of his questions in ways that are completely inconsistent with her character, seeming like she got brainwashed into being an entirely different person within the span of a single page. (yet again, very confusing and isn't explained hardly at all).
Now we come to this latest page. Vonnie is now dressed like a Nazi and is a hard-ass investigator who will never show weakness or vulnerability again. She's become exactly the same as all the other female characters, just a bland, lifeless thing that shows no actual emotion, isn't engaging in any way. Just more of the same one-dimensional female characters that achieve everything instantly and never face any serious obstacles, never having to deal with any internal conflict.
tl;dr Diaz is shit, female characters are shit, and Diaz' female characters are double shit.

Another hilarious thing about Diaz is how he pretends he has a wide range of characters, as if he has put out so many different stories over the years and built up such a collection of protagonists.
Meanwhile, in the real world, he has one character and a bunch of supporting people in her story. They barely have anything beyond the barest bones in terms of characterization because he does maybe five pages per year in which their lucky to get any time. Do we even know anything about the black chick and white guy whose been hanging out with Thunderjuggs all this time. All we know about the red head was that she was a stickler for procedure. No deep revelations, no bringing together of all these hints dropped over the course of the arc, just suddenly BAM. I mean, fuck, they work out Kusanagi is fake by reading a goddamn book I bet the entire fucking city has access to. There's nothing clever here.
Diaz has no idea of what good foreshadowing is. He has mysterious figures stand around and recite poetry then doesn't explain it in any way shape or form for the next few years. He has a page drop a hint then the next page just spills all the revelations out. There's no constant slow drip of hints that begin to make sense, there's no cleverness, no subtlety, and absolutely no talent.
And that's why Diaz will always be the king of faggotry, because he spends his time wanking off about his brilliance, while having the writing ability of a teenager, and his drawings lack any real feel. And unlike other webcomic artists, his shit looks good enough that people suck up to him as being a greaaaat artist uguuu and so he spreads this mediocre talent and shit everywhere. Diaz is the triumph of mediocrity.
This isn't like "wrapping Christmas presents that no one will open for years" as though he drops foreshadowing everywhere that people can piece together.
It's wrapping Christmas presents in complete secret, digging them up into the garden, saying nothing about it for years, with no one even knowing you wrapped the fucking presents, then one day digging them up and shoving them in people's faces so hard their noses break and they get concussions while screaming "DID YOU GET IT? DID YOU GET ALL MY SUBTLE HINTS ABOUT THE PRESENTS???!!? MAN, I AM SO CLEVER!"
