Alongside his usual bullshit, half-assed punchline of "Boy, you sure do behave in an unusual manner!" his other cheap line is "Gee, I sure am confused!"
That one's even better for hack writers/artists, as the panel immediately prior to the declaration of confusion *always* has the character just standing there, so they can cut&paste from the panel before that, but not have to add any more dialogue.
It's a cheap-ass, stupid, contrived punchline that keeps morons happy, and takes up extra space.

QC is an odd one. I read some of it a couple of years ago because i knew some people who said it was good.
I'm not sure i can ever truly hate it.
That's because it's so relentlessly boring, aggressively weak and inoffensive that i don't think it could ever provoke an emotion as strong as hate. Or indeed any emotion at all. All it creates with me is a sense of numbness.
There was a film critic who once said of a film, "It's worse than a 1-star movie; it's a 2-star movie."
That, i'd say, perfectly describes QC.
It does nothing outrageous or offensive enough to be a truly 1-star webcomic.
It's too lukewarm for that.
It's a fucking plate of boiled peas.

I feel that QC, a couple years ago, was good. At least, comparatively.
A lot of the early webcomics got by on the fact that they could target niches that print comics couldn't. A lot of these early comics are, looking back, pretty terrible; but they were great for the time because there was a lot less competition.
Twelve years ago, in a webcomic universe made up of otaku and video games, came a comic with, comparatively, strong characters and with a different target audience. It wasn't just the wish fulfillment of a nerd who couldn't find friends before the internet. It was the story of a sad nerd who couldn't find friends even with it.
It was interesting.
Then, it degenerated. For a lot of reasons, it just went down hill. Making it worse, webcomics in general got a lot BETTER in the meantime as more competition emerged and the web became a wider place.
The tragedy of QC is that the characters, who were initially interesting and relatively consistent and developed, gradually vanished. Jacques' inability to develop his characters in meaningful and consistent ways while shoehorning in his plot ideas meant that he had to introduce an ever increasing cast that even he couldn't keep straight. However, in a character driven strip, this resulted in more and more filler. Gradually, the strip became filler, the characters turned into tropes, and it turned into a new form of wish fulfillment: a SJW wish fulfillment comic.
