Every Wednesday I used to skim the new comics on the blog and maybe say something about a couple of them. WELP WON'T NEED THAT SHIT NO MORE but I do still skim the comics every week because it only takes me a minute. I'm not going to force myself to cover this every week but if I see a comic I want to post about, now I got a handy thread to post to.
https://www.comixology.com/Nanjing-the-Burning-City-Vol-1/digital-comic/270738
This one I really want to get, actually, because it's about the Rape of Nanking. I added this to the wish list, I'll get it some time. The blog's dead so it's not like I'll review it, but maybe I'll post about it if I read it. The thing is that I have a lot of other things on my plate right now, since the blog is gone. I can't even describe how fast I've moved on. Well, actually I can. I'm just not going to. 8)
https://www.comixology.com/CBLDF-Banned-Books-Week-Handbook/digital-comic/264860
This is free, but I haven't read it, and I don't know if I want to. I have a sneaking suspicion that the banned books in this are just going to be a bunch of libraries run by eeeeeeeevil conservative republicans who ban books about trannies or whatever. I would hope they'd at least mention the college that wanted to ban stuff by people like Neil Gaiman, but that wasn't really a conservative was it? The CBLDF is good in theory, and they were the first group to fight for the rights of comics creators, and for the free expression of comics, so I don't want to trash them too much, but when it comes to censorship, it's a lot bigger than just the American Library Association these days. The censorship has crept into the mainstream consciousness.

It has officially gotten bad. Femthor was little and silly, kate leth writing a comic was minor, Ms. Marvel being a muslim is slight, but this is something else.

>Writing in The Atlantic, Ta-Nehisi Coates—you can thank his Black Panther dad for giving him that self-segregating first name—recently penned a sprawling essay called “The Case for Reparations.” It rings all the familiar bells the race-baiters have been clanging in our ears for generations now, insisting that the “income gap” and “wealth gap” between white and black Americans is solely due to that evil enduring shadow institution known as “white supremacy,” which apparently slipped up when it allowed Jewish people and Asians to earn more on average than non-Jewish whites do.
But the perfection of it as always is that you can't point out how stupid it is without being called a racist.

It's not that I care about Marvel handing their comics over to moral crusaders, but I really did think that they wouldn't go this far.
It's going to be so satisfying when regular readers stop buying Marvel books because everything they pick up reads like a seminar on "tolerance". Even the stupid nerds who still buy Spider-Man every month are going to wake up to the truth once Spider-Man starts ending every issue with a moral lesson.

Who even knows if this asker IS an artist at all? The only thing that you can tell from what they said is that they dislike the practice of hiring people based on their race/gender rather than skill.
But, the most hilarious thing to me is that they say, "Oh, you don't like these companies using discriminatory hiring practices? WELL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THEN, BE INDEPENDENT!" Libtard double-think is in never-ending supply.

What's funny is Kate Leth has always wanted to work for Marvel to the point of once tweeting something like "why haven't Marvel/DC invited me to their offices yet :("
She's implying that going to Image is the best move to make, but she'll never have a successful series at Image. They're the only publisher where you're paid entirely based on merit and not just because you vomited out some mediocre work that may or may not sell.
By the way Power Up debuted with 7k sales for the #1 issue. But the #2 issue doesn't appear on charts. I noticed this happening with Kate's issues of Bravest Warriors too. Boom titles apparently don't show up on the charts once sales dip below a certain level.
She is a total failure and any books they put her on will only have decent sales due to moderate interest in niche characters, "girl superheroes", and the fact that she's paired with better artists than she deserves.
Having dumb twitter cunts write comic books is as much a fad as holographic covers were in the 90s. They're even trying to recreate the stupid Spider-Clone shit by having regular Peter Parker, black Spider-Man, and then like half a dozen different versions of Spider-Girl. They're just daring people to get confused, stop caring, and dump all their comics in the trash. Again.

Batgirl as a fucking romance comic.
Why is it that every single comic the feminists get a hold of, they turn into the same "girl goes to college, makes friends, gets a boyfriend, fights crime while juggling everything else" formula? I do continue to be curious about why they take established characters and change them them into something more progressive as opposed to making new characters who can start off feminist friendly. I mean, were there that many people who already regularly read Vampirella but wished she would put on more clothes?

Yep, that's feminism. Feminism is a grade school mentality. It is literally about taking things away from boys and coming up with childish emotional excuses for why they should have things and boys shouldn't.
It leads to retarded doublethink in every aspect of their lives. Like, wasn't Vampirella sexy before? Wasn't her design okay before? Why does it need to change… and if it needs to change, why does it need to change in that specific way?
Hey Kate, why is it bad when a man draws a sexy Power Girl, but it's good when you dress up as a "sexy" Power Girl?
Hey Kate, do you like the new Vampirella costume because your fat sloppy body could never look good in the old one?
But I do love how smug she gets every time she gets work on some D-list book. Yeah I'm sure this will really renew interest in Vampirella. Just like your Edward Scissorhands, Fraggle Rock, and Bravest Warriors really kept those franchises going. Oh wait no all of those things ended with *your* name on the cover. You killed them all. Just like your original series "POWER UP" is going so well. Oh wait no it sold 6,974 copies in its first month and then vanished from the charts… just like your issues of Bravest Warriors did shortly before the cancellation was announced.
Go ahead and mock us, Kate. Mock us while you have your little comics jobs. But there will come a day when you're out of comics and trying desperately to get something else going. And on that day all the chickens will come home to roost. Evidence of your vile personality will slam into the inboxes of whoever hires you so fast that they'll have no choice but to kick your ass right back out the door.

Unsurprisingly, the super feminist DC comics line gets canceled.
I'm guessing sales weren't great, but let me tell you why comics will never have a comicgate: because you know who buys these comics? The same cucks who read superhero comics. They're keeping this shit afloat because they read and buy any cape shit. So this series wasn't canceled because of poor sales, most likely, but because apparently the femicunt involved started to cry "harassment" left and right. Apparently has a history of that, as every single feminist has been caught lying about. Just look up a story of a feminist in any job, and sooner or later you will see them slap someone with a false charge of harassment of some form or another, just as likely you'll see a woman slap a man with a false rape claim in college (100% of the college rape claims in the mainstream media have been proven false in the past year alone).

This is where you get shit like Batman and Superman dealing with shit like racism and immigrants instead of punching out Hitler because we're not writing on a kiddie level but on this weird "adult" level which really isn't mature but aimed at the manchildren who don't want to grow up. Grant it, this is on a sliding scale. Comics and Cartoons and what-not have always trafficked in that kind of stuff. To what degree is too far is a matter of opinion, but things like the whole Steven Universe blow up is a sign that maybe things are heading in a wrong direction.

I do see cosplay and all that as being the same thing, adults embarrassing themselves with childish shit. People should have better taste. But better taste doesn't mean that video games and comics are bad. It's not the medium that's the problem. An adult playing pool or playing hockey and an adult playing video games are identical except in the amount of physical activity. Physical activity is a better alternative, surely, but it's still pretty much the same thing.
If anything, the problem with comics is that they should be better, and their mainstream shouldn't be retarded cheesedick bullshit. The problem is not that adults are reading comics.

A new issue of Saga came out today. Out of a desire to save money, and a wariness of the comics I buy turning out to be shit, I pirated the new issue instead of buying it. I think it's the first time I've done it in the whole series of Saga. This is sad. I want a comic that I can look forward to at least once a month. Shit, give me a couple, and it's like a twice monthly thing where I can keep up with some cool adventure story. But no, they all suck.
Well, okay, the new Saga doesn't suck. But all of a sudden a chick with dick is thrown into the comic. For no reason. Just a sudden tranny, has no bearing on the plot or anything else. Seems pretty obvious that the purpose is just for more meaningless empty "representation." No one really cares and "representation" benefits no one, even the people it's supposed to benefit (because it's meaningless). It's just there. Could be a bad sign, or it might amount to nothing. Naturally, leftists will proclaim that to even see this as a bad sign is somehow bigoted and transphobic, because they don't understand the identical equivalent, as something like this is the same as someone starting to suddenly mention Jesus' plan for you in conversation. Liberals are so fond of their moral equivocation games after all.

If BKV hadn't drunk too much of the social justice kool-aid, I'd be willing to overlook this. I mean it's a prison, so it makes sense for someone with a fucked-up sense of gender identity to be there. But yes, entirely irrelevant, obviously that entire sequence exists just for BKV to say "See? Look how progressive and tolerant I am!"
I do like that Saga shows stuff like breastfeeding and dicks because if comics are ever going to stop sucking, they need to be free from puritanical censorship, but it's sad that most people aren't taking advantage of the relative freedom they have to tell any sort of story they want. Jap comics may have retarded stories, but at least they try new stuff all the time. I guess that's a marketplace thing though. The US comics market is so small that there's no room for anybody to try anything risky.

>London, 1914: The leaders of the radical women's rights movement are fugitives from the law. Their last line of defense is the secret society of "Amazons": women trained in the martial art of bartitsu and sworn to defend their leaders from arrest and assault. In this issue: A smashing tale of street-fighting suffragettes. The Amazons' tactics and fighting skills are put to the test in escalating conflicts with the London and Glasgow police.
Because OF COURSE if you have a comic about feminists they're going to be the good guys.
As opposed to, you know, reality, where feminists have fought against many human rights, including several women's rights.

This is a good read. A history of the various crimes women committed for the great cause of "women's rights". It starts off with women spitting and slapping the face of a police officer. It then quickly devolves into hammers thrown through windows and other light destruction of property. Before you know it they're trying to set buildings on fire, destroying mailboxes, museum exhibits, and generally doing whatever the hell they want.
The last meeting of the suffragettes took place on July 16, 1914.
World War I began on July 28, 1914.

One thing I'll offer is the the reason you see superheroes in the costumes all the time, whether or not the actual situation calls for it (sitting in meetings, going to funerals), is that it's the only way for the reader to tell who they are. Out of costume, they'll all be a set of generic pretty people. The most you would have to go on their damn hairstyles.
I don't know what the solution to this is besides forcing specific faces on each character which would be a real pain in the ass for the artists.

I'm assuming when they do their "real women" talk, they are least bothering to remember that not all women are 300 lb. blobs who can't even walk, let alone twist like a comic book character, hence why someone would rather look at a comic book character instead of their disgusting ass.
I've really grown to utterly despise these control freaks. I'm so glad their horrible physiques mean they're going to die a lot sooner. Though this also shows how they really have bigger problems than how Spider Woman looks on a cover.

You're part of a subculture that is proven to be so gullible that even annual #1 issues still generate enough of a (meaningless) sales boost that they will do it every single year just so they can milk your subculture of every penny possible.
Don't get it twisted: they don't do it to rip you off. They do it because THEY KNOW IT WORKS.
This is the subculture you have chosen to be in. You may decry it, but you still support it anyway when you pay these companies your money. No matter how many comics you pirate, you eventually pay these companies some money at some point. Even if you have never bought a Marvel or DC comic, even if you pirate ALL of them? You still read them and give them the attention necessary for them to make sales from others.
And if you don't read any capeshit? You're still financing a bunch of indie garbage made by the cultural mendacity squad responsible for "social justice," an ideology based on freelance punishing individuals who do not fall into political lockstep. Sound familiar? It's the essence of vigilantism. When they fight crime, hey maybe there's some justification there. If they decide that "crime" includes protecting yourself from a violent thug? Suddenly it's not so fun and exciting is it? But it's still vigilantism, and "social justice" is merely a euphemism for this.
And you support this, whether you want to or not, because you don't have enough taste or wits to do better.

Specifically, Heavy Metal is now just trying to be Heavy Metal. As opposed to the old days when Heavy Metal was big and subversive because it was trying to be weird and bizarre and borderline porn.
It's the same problem with modern music: it's too busy trying to live up to the public perception of its own legend, combined with all of the concepts of marketing and pandering and crowdpleasing and of course PC social justice tolerance, it no longer understands how to simply be. It's too busy trying to look at how it's supposed to be.
It's why you can't really have a popular rock band anymore. All the rock bands that make it have been bought and paid for by record companies, written by songwriting committees, performed by hired studio musicians, and controlled by public relations firms. All the other bands that aren't that are instead a tribute band or trying to ape their media impression of what a rock band is supposed to be. No one gets drunk and does drugs and tries to create music, they do what they saw on Behind the Music or in movies, and they imitate an imitation of people who were genuinely inspired and influenced.
That's music and comics today in a nutshell.

I biked up to the comics store today to get a small stack of garbage. Well, not really garbage, but often I will go through the bargain boxes, they have hundreds, adding up to thousands and thousands of comics, and sometimes I buy shit that I know looks bad. Though this time I got a couple issues of Stray Bullets, a couple issues of Cerebus (at its worst it's still better than the mean of American comics).
I saw this comic on the ourvaluedcustomers tumblr and also Kay posted it. I looked at my shortbox and went through it, and realized that about 25% of the comics I saw I had no reason to keep. They were neither good, nor bad enough that necessitated keeping them (the really bad comics are the sub-deviantart tier art or stuff like Furrlough, most of it's not even necessarily worse than any regular big name comics, they're just puzzling).
I tossed out a shitload, though as you can see the one on the top is an issue of The Tenth, don't get the wrong idea, it's fucking garbage and it is where it belongs, but I threw it away because I had just bought this issue, and it turns out I already owned it.
I already had about 50 empty comics bags from all the previous comics I had bought for $1 and thrown in the garbage (mostly Marvel/DC shit), and after throwing away a bunch of these, I was stuck with EVEN MORE bags. My brother saw them and asked why I don't put my regular books in these bags? At least to get some use out of them.
So we bagged a few of my real books. Plus a couple trade paperbacks of comics I do like, and of course Take On Me (renamed awfully to Domin8 Me) and Pink Sniper, two delightful classics of animoo porn comics.
But really, if people bag fucking awful retarded stupid ass fuck superhero comics, then why shouldn't I bag my infinitely superior and treasured Christopher Hitchens books?

Marvel starting to turn against its own virtue signalling?

5f9498 No.3856

With Spider-Gwen, Whor, and Kate Leth writing for them this is definitely not a trend. More a case of 'one author less of a cuck than expected'. Objectively it's a good thing for a creator to be aware of reality, but there's not enough examples of cases like this to call it a pattern. Though Iron Fist still being cast as white dude in the netflix series is nice I guess.
The tumblrette in the comic is good wombyn representation though, she's accurately patronizingly racist. Like, not treating them as equal individuals, but instead like some sort of trophy children subhumans. 'I teen girl am proud of you niglets!'
What if miles was asian? And like, instead of his costume breaking off to show brown skin, his mask broke off to show a slanty gook eye? Would she call it oppressive, that asians are basically white because not only are they successful career-wise, but they're super heroes now too?

It says here that "Huck" is written by Mark Millar, so maybe it's possible this isn't just some cheap Huckleberry Finn "modern reboot also with magic for no reason." But I think chances of that are still low.

They'd destroy their own lives just at the promise of the most shallow meaningless companionship. Until it's over, and they realize it wasn't worth it. They realize the beautiful perfect angel formed from the dust of the stars was really just another ordinary carbon unit, just as capable of being self deluded, but able to succeed easily by playing off of the self delusions of your average nerd.
They're cucked by their own delusions of reality. For how intelligent nerds are supposed to be, how intelligent can they truly be if they are so easily fooled and deluded into believing something that isn't real and is easily staged just to fuck with people's heads? This is why superhero comic readers were never smart enough to get their own gamergate, they didn't deserve it, they are weak people who aren't truly intelligent enough to stand up for any ideal. They are the passive losers who would let the villain get away, and they have multiple times already, as they let totalitarians and authoritarians run roughshod over their stupid childish hobby. All they do is whine about it in retrospect instead of taking a stand and stopping it either beforehand or standing against it even in the aftermath. They won't even stand against it now, because they're afraid of being called misogynists or racists. They convince themselves that Gail Simone is actually a really good writer (lawl).

Does this call for another Kate leth tweet. You bet it does.
Aside from the usual lack of self awareness on her part, I'm more curious about the tweet below about "you're not like other girls" nerdgeoise bs".
Is she referring to a geeky guy that thought she'd like him because she was into the same stuff, but it turns out geeky guys really disgust them as much as any other girl. Because that seems to fall in line with these girls that really want nothing to do with the men that make up this hobby they claim to love so much.

"The Comics Journal" used to be like the last remaining comics site I felt was worth reading. Except I haven't bothered checking it in months. And now I realize why I shouldn't have bothered at all.
TCJ is out, comicsalliance is out, newsarama is out, IGN is out, /co/ (both of them) are out.
You know, without shittywebcomics, I'm not sure there's ANY good place to go to read about comic books. Period.

Here's your lesson guys. No matter how much you like something, don't share it with women. They made it clear that they already know all about it and you will pay.
Fuck 'em. Now they can get everything on their own.

"Uhm, like, excuse me, that shitlord was literally trying to, uh, Fridge you. Don't internalize your mysogyny, bigot!", bleats social media.
Not the first time Gail has been by grilled by the "fans". Hell, what does she expect? That people aren't going to write the exact same kind of garbage that got her own ass in the spotlight??
Ha ha, she can't control the monster she created!

I make up articles about comic books in my own head that are 1000x more entertaining than any comics """journalism""" website. If I weren't such a lazy fuck I'd start my own website solely dedicated to calling all remaining comic book fans retards and calling Kate Leth a fat boozy cumbucket.
But no, cumbucket isn't truthful enough. Kate swallows more than mere BUCKETS of cum.
Cumtrough. That's what Kate Leth is. A cumtrough. And the word fits horse and human alike, making it doubly appropriate!

Gail seems to be vaguely aware that feminism has taken the wrong course since 1995 but she's not aware enough to come out and say "Enough already!"
But she's fat and old (and wow, googling her name reveals she's just 41 but looks much older) so there's no expectation that she'll go against status quo. She reminds me of the story of Moira Greyland, the girl who was raped by her famous SFF writer parents. Dost anyone thinketh that Gail Simone wouldn't be the kind of gal to rape her own daughter?

>I was born into a family of famous gay pagan authors in the late Sixties. My mother was Marion Zimmer Bradley, and my father was Walter Breen. Between them, they wrote over 100 books: my mother wrote science fiction and fantasy (Mists of Avalon), and my father wrote books on numismatics: he was a coin expert.
>What they did to me is a matter of unfortunate public record: suffice to say that both parents wanted me to be gay and were horrifed at my being female. My mother molested me from ages 3-12. The first time I remember my father doing anything especially violent to me I was five. Yes he raped me. I don’t like to think about it. If you want to know about his shenanigans with little girls, and you have a very strong stomach, you can google the Breendoggle, which was the scandal which ALMOST drummed him out of science fiction fandom.

SWC was probably the proof that it's not as easy as just trashing comics or authors.
It takes something far more than that to really make it work.
I mean shit, we did it with just a tumblr. We ran what was essentially a revolution in human existence on just a free simple blog.

SWC basically introduced me to the alt-right, leading me to understand that globalist Jews are largely responsible for our current malaise, amongst other things. It was like the yeast that bakes the bread. A starter culture for an internal revolution. I bit down on the thick peasant-bread taste, and do you know what I tasted? I tasted FREEDOM, for the first time in my life.
SWC was a pretty good blog for doing all this shit!

The last pic there is apparently from their final issue, which pretty much goes to show why it should be canceled, although the first pic in this thread was proof enough.

A new Stray Bullets came out this week and I didn't even notice. I forgot to check the comics site until Friday, during which comixology had literally nothing but Batman v Superman comics for sale to celebrate the release of the laugh inducingly bad movie.

I listen to this podcast and it boils downs to this:
>Female Gaze doesn't exist
>Catwoman butt shots are inappropriate
>But it is only OK when I do SpiderPool fanfic bullshit to fulfill my sexual comic needs
Fuck these fucking hypocritic ass faggots! The sooner they are gone the better. And her little cucklord is just sitting by, agreeing with her bullshit. All this makes me do is wish there was more comics like the early years of Frank Miller and Jack Kirby.
Also she talks about something called "The Sexy Lamp" test that makes no fucking sense whatsoever.
Overall, the question I have is: Why do these people have a job around something that they are only just going to be offend by?

To be fair, if anyone, ESPECIALLY A MAN, offered even the mildest devil's advocate disagreement with any of those points, she'd have a panic attack, start screaming and screeching at the top of her lungs, and order all of her social media friends to harass him and spread false accusations against him.

The Sexy Lamp Test? Fuck, they just can't stop coming up with rules for everyone else to follow can they?
I have my own test. It's called the Bitching Bitch Test. If you're more known for telling others what they're doing wrong than you doing right, YOU FAIL. How's that? Let's see how many of these cunts can pass the sucker.

New comic book day, the last issue of Fight Club 2 is out, I'm buying it, gonna read it now. https://www.comixology.com/Fight-Club-2-10/digital-comic/336545
https://www.comixology.com/Saga-35/digital-comic/343512
Also a new issue of Saga out, and I'm not going to buy it. I'm not sure if I even care about reading it, but I'll probably at least pirate it. It hasn't deserved my money for a while now. Fight Club 2 has, because it's at least entertained me and kept me going.
Last week a new issue of Stray Bullets came out, and I didn't even notice. I bought it and read it. It was fucking fantastic, the most deserving of my money. Stray Bullets is the kind of comic I'd buy twice, and I have (specifically I bought an extra copy from the comic store after I already owned it on digital).

This is an accurate representation from fans of the film adaptations wrestling through his books. They are a mess, and only made better with editing & screenwriting.
Perhaps Chuck has improved since as the comic's not terrible. Or maybe it's only because it has a narrow(er) scope plus other people working on it.

>Why do these people have a job around something that they are only just going to be offend by?
Some people just want to be miserable, and won't settle for less. They constantly need to justify their position as a cultural critic professional victim. Compelled to walk backwards to reinforce their dumb cult of guilt and sadness. If anybody enjoys anything, it gains popularity, and makes a living: then they then must oppose it. Its very existence diverts attention and challenges their failed ideology.
Creatively bankrupt hen-peckers are the example here, but you could also look at, say, islam against free art and expression.
>muh sexy lamp test
Not even going to bother look that up. 100% fuck off, eat a bullet.
