I'm really not 100% sure but unless that girl moved I always assumed they were different because one always had the flag and the other didn't. From memory Ausgirl posted quite early on in /soc/ and then Aus (from the /sbt/ threads) came later. I could be totally wrong but I'd love to hear some second opinions on this.
