I agree with this.

One thing we learned from GG was that these companies have spam filters and mass messaging the same block of text or specific keywords (in our case, the hashtag) just served to get our messages ignored.

Keep the current copypasta up but emphasise the added value of writing a personal message and the use of the copypasta as a good guideline to write from.
