Is microwaving water for tea bad?

 No.605

I think the only real problem is not having any control over the temperature of the water, but I could be wrong.

I'm tempted to say yes, but I don't actually have anything to back that up. The main issue for me is that boiling water in the microwave is maximum pleb behavior. I'd rather use the stove if my electric kettle broke.

It's fine, you just need a few trials to figure out what happens at certain "cook" times with your specific microwave.

Black teas can often times be steeped as hot as you'd like, but you have to experiment with white and green teas in order to avoid the bitter taste since they're more delicate. It's usually safe to wait for thirty seconds to a minute before letting the green or white tea steep.

I don't remember the wattage of my microwave, but I find that half a mug of water for one tea bag of green tea takes well to 2 minutes and 15 seconds, while for a whole mug for two tea bags, I'll usually do about 2 minutes and 45 seconds.

Buy a Zojirushi. You will want to kiss yourself they are so nice.

Boiled water tastes better, IMHO.

As for health: The thing with microwaves is that they denaturalize organic particles, which become toxins and free radicals.

A britta or reverse osmosis filter removes most organic substances (but not all), so it will help (and what kind of pleb doesn't filter his water?).

>The thing with microwaves is that they denaturalize organic particles

I assume that by "denaturalization of organic particles" you mean denaturation of proteins and nucleic acids.

>which become toxins

Oh. You're one of "those" people.

How different does this taste compared to water from a kettle?

 No.710

Bro, don't microwave your water. A few times is fine, but regularly the radiation builds up in your system. Cancer will fuck you up so bad it'll make you deader than this board

I got one at Goodwill for 2.99. I need to remove some calcium buildup but it runs great.
