<< What is the best email service to use?
Ideally, in the interests of privacy and security, it would be best to host your own email server using fully open-source, free-as-in-freedom software, but since that isn't always possible, here are a number of email services commonly recommended by /tech/:
- cock.li
American-based email provider hosted by a fellow /tech/nician. Hosts 8ch's email addresses, and has a wide variety of email addresses (albeit most of them not safe for work) to choose from. - OpenMailBox
French-based email provider. Runs completely on libre software with anonymizing and privacy protecting features. - Mailoo
French email provider. Explicitly states it runs on free software. - Posteo
German-based email provider. Fully LibreJS compliant with anonymizing and privacy protecting features. 1€/month - ProtonMail
Swiss-based email provider. Hosted in retired military bunkers, features anonymizing features and automatically expiring email messages.
