Ha, that's a New Macbook. That laptop that Apple made for dumb execs that absolutely needs to be as thin as possible, has only USB-C and a 3.5mm jack for connections, runs a core M, and starts at 1300. The New Macbook is bad because the keys have zero travel. Typing on a macbook is as pleasant as typing on a holographic projection of a keyboard. I once went to the store, fully intent on buying a Macbook, and then I tried typing "A quick brown fox" and walked away.

What if, instead of making yet another fake poser "wymyn in code" account, you just made a normal "women in code" account where you didn't do bullshit for lulz like the OP pic?

You could teach good programming around problems that are uniquely female. Like

>can you map and predict your periods?

>can you write a program that will automatically buy fashionable items for you when they reach a certain discount or sale?

>a speech engine that will spit out complaints about that bitch at work.

Are you stupid? People don't make these social justice freaks popular for being useful, but for being useless. She didn't stick with anyone. She was lying to everyone in her life and I eventually realized she had at least one parallel relationship who was also being lied to. She had lied to her sister who thought she was dating a third person who I don't think she had any contact with, and had lied to her parents about me claiming I was just a friend 2 years into the relationship while also lying to me about how her parents were approving of our relationship. I flew out to meet her parents once and is where everything started to unravel as everyone in her life I talked to had a completely different idea of what was going on and who she was. She could switch emotions like flipping a switch, too. And I don't mean "lol girls be craazy" shit, I mean pathological total lack of empathy - she really was faking all emotion. As things started to come unglued (I found the other guy and we pieced together what had been going on) she must have lied to our collective friends as they stopped talking to me (I assume she said I raped her). Luckily this was the '90s before witch trials were a thing so the only cost to me was everyone I knew. I still don't know how much of what I thought I knew about her was a lie. I do know she was legitimately a beyond excellent coder and Quake player as we did those things together (and I taught her to write demos for Linux with svgalib + mikmod + nasm).

Basically, the reason she was so good and so prolific was that she was so broken she'd just stay inside all day on her computer and try to avoid dealing directly with people since she didn't really know how and it'd always go wrong. She did warn me and I didn't listen. And even when it was obvious I convinced myself I could fix her rather than leave.

I'm not sure if this is true for software development, but you can rarely find these people in hardware. if your hiring manager is white he might not even be able to tell what gender the applicants are because many of them have foreign names, meaning that if he happens to choose a women, it won't even be because of her gender, just because of her capabilities.

alright so im no teacher (and not much of a programmer) but ill try to sum it up my best:

>besides autistic indenting (yes i know its twitter but still)

>no brackets to surround the if and else statement

starting from the top:

>if(Tweeter=gamergater)

what it is trying to say is that is that if the variable "Tweeter" is equal to "Gamergater" then it would continue into the if statement.

-- one of the mistakes it made is in programming "=" is the assignment operator (you use this to assign variables not to check conditions). It should have been a condiditonal operator "==" which is what you use to check equality in programming. (Notice it also did this on the else if)

-- Next it used an else if to end the if. but there is no else (I suppose this could be incomplete code but still *cringe*)

-- Also do you see how the parameters inside the if and else if have the same conditions?

this means the code can be condensed into one line

see this >>541139 for just one example, it added a ton of extra code for no reason. I've more of a Network Administrator so I'm sorry if this isn't 100% but the cringe is painfully obvious...

what if I'm not sure 'a' can be made equal to 'b', so I want to check it with an if :<

 No.542125

>>542106

In C like languages:

== is the binary operator that gives you the boolean value of whether a is equal to b.

= is the binary operator for assignment (contents of the expression on the right (rvalue) to the expression on the left (lvalue)) and returns the value of the assignment.

So:

if (a == b)

means if a being equal to b is true (What you probably want) and

if (a = b)

means if after assigning b contents to a, the assignment casted to boolean value is true.

Integers, and subsequently pointers, can be casted to boolean values, if they are zero the result is false, true if they are anything else.

So

int a, b;
b = 2;
if (a = b)

The condition inside the if will assign 2 to "a" and then enter the if because 2 is casted to true.

and:

int a, b;
b = 0;
if (a = b)

Would assign 0 to "a" and will not enter the if (or go to the else clause if there is one) because 0 is casted to false.

This is useful with pointers, because more than often you want to check if a pointer is NULL (an invalid pointer), and since pointers are integers the de facto NULL value for pointers is 0.

so:

if (my_pointer)

Is a shorthand for

if (my_pointer != NULL)

Where NULL is defined to be 0.

To recapitulate, this is because in general for integers (and pointers):

if (a != 0)

is the same as

if (a)

If you replace "a" with "(a = b)" you get the explanation I gave you before.

The same implicit boolean casts can be used in other boolean statements like "for" and "while" loops.

Modern compilers will warn you about if(a = b) statements and insist in putting parenthesis around the expression to make sure you really want that like so: if ((a = b))

The code would compile and run, but she confused the == with the =. With the former you compare, the latter you assign.

It will always write out the first "Bock." and never even try the second one. Since in the if-statement the variable "Tweeter" is assigned the value of "Gamergater", that will always be true because she assigns it that value right there in the if-statement.

It also looks shit, who the fuck would put the else and the if on different lines?

And why just write "Block."? What's the purpose of that?

>She wasn't "better than any man" (I was better), but she'd smoke every one of you here on /tech/, no contest. You have no idea what kind of skill gap we're talking about, here.

Lol there is *always* one of these anecdotal magical unicorn fuckers in these threads and I've never once seen any of them produce the slightest shred of evidence.

Women in tech is the biggest meme
