We hear about shitty ISP's all the time however does anyone here actually have an ISP that isnt shit?

My ISP claims to have no logging unless court order and the prices are 50 cents per megabit I have 200 megabits up and 18 down and when I had to activate a modem and return the ISP it went easier then expected. Anyone else have this experience or am I in lalaland?

Verizon FIOS isn't in my area. Only DSL. My only other option is a Comcast business account and paying 2k for installation + equipment charges for them to run a fiber line to my apartment with monthly payments of $120+ for 1000gb monthly cap at 90/20.

At least Jewcast lets you replace your modem & router, unlike AT&T.

Moreover, they haven't been revealed to be running Israeli-made supercomputers designed to aid the NSA's mission; but let's be honest, we know every ISP is doing it anyway.

I have it worse, though my download speed is a little better. Time Warner Cable. When they moved into my city back in Y2K, they offered SYNCHRONOUS 64 MEGABIT CONNECTIONS for FORTY FUCKING DOLLARS. I was the upload king in the early days of BT and DC++.

Now? About three times as much, for 15Mbit down, 1.5 up, on a good day where it's raining money and the faucets pour out gold dust.

Here's a horrible secret. The main software AT&T uses for its agents in customer interactions? Made in Israel.

>Telmex is literally the most expensive ISP in the world, Carlos Slim ended up with a total monopoly of Mexican telecommunications and has zero qualms with abusing it

>there are cheaper ISPs, but they all fucking suck ass

>Izzi in particular is a fucking ripoff, they have a data metering clause hidden deep within a "fair usage policy" referred by the terms and conditions referred by the service delivery contract, if you exceed the usage cap which is arbitrary and can be easily busted by Netflix your connection drops to 1 Mbps

>Izzi is owned by Grupo Televisa, a media consortium which is in cahoots with the PRI and the federal government and was the protagonist of a documented conspiracy to put the PRI back in power by talking nothing but good about its members

>Telmex is expensive as balls, but one thing they do have is a pretty good tech support call center and consistently solid and a very stable service that almost never lags

Mexico is so-so in telecommunications. Internet usage is constantly growing, e-commerce is becoming increasingly popular and we have recently busted the 50% of the country with internet mark, but not because we're getting more advanced but because poor people want to copy what the cool awesome gringos do and they do it by force of sacrificing basic necessities in the name of having their goddamn Whatsapp gossip IV, because poor people can't into priorities (the shanty with a Sky dish and a 4K TV is a common sight here).

Also, you can make money very fast here by cracking wifis. Nobody ever changes the default wifi key and on mass-produced routers it's apparently too difficult to generate one from scratch so they just calculate a hash of the SSID or something like that and apply it as the wifi key, and because few poor people can still afford a fixed internet connection they just pay someone to crack their neighbor's wifi.

You just got the wrong end of the stick is all. Maybe get a look at local ISPs they usually offer much better service.

My ISPs are all shit. they can't offer more than half gigabit speed unless you're corporate.

They usually offer 1-10mbps up/down for $20+/mo with 30-70GB datacap, 20-80mbps for fibr with datacap (lol.srsly?)

Because of all that shit, people here became wise enough to hack and crack the ISP and modem firmware and networks be it 3G, Wimax, LTE+Wimax, or even a fucking DSL's PPPoE and even break the bandwidth cap. You can literally use angry IP scanner to scan the IP range of a DSL network then infiltrate DSL routers by blindly guessing with the default username and password of router models that no one ever changes.

I would kill to have the speeds most of you have.

pic-related doesn't even accurately represent my net either, as those speeds are basically my peak. To get a better representation you'd need to halve them, not to mention include the 4+ hours a day it doesn't work at all
