Anyways, I can see where they come from. A lot of threads on 8chan get derailed by attentionwhores, tripfags, forum sliders, shitposters, probably even shills, etc. If they weren't permitted to post as often, it'd make it harder for them to derail perfectly good threads.

I left 15 years ago when the site was mostly "first post" and links to goatse.cx. Communities never improve so I can't even imagine the trough of shit you're attempting to wallow in.

It's based on some gay "karma" shit similar to reddit. In my experience, the admins will put you into some kind of "raped" mode where all of your posts instantly shoot to -1 score (minimum possible score on slashdot), every post you ever make on that account from then on is also -1, and you get some shit like 12 hour delays between posts.

You actually end up with a better initial posting score and shorter delay between posts when you're not even logged in.

Forum sliders though, I think should be a pretty easy thing to deal with. Just bumplock threads that are obvious forum slides, or make all threads bumplock after a week or two, with the option from the mods to opt a thread out if the discussion is good.

Slashdot had been co-opted years ago. This is not news.
