Genuine complaints this time.
>Insurance companies lower your premiums if you install a blackbox that spies on your driving habits and where you go
>Information is probably sold to governments and other corporations
>You're always monitored
>Phone calls are all monitored
>The myth that only metadata is only collected is a dirty lie, everything is recorded, analyzed and archived
>Phones also act as monitoring devices for your location and what you say
>Worst of all, you're paid to get spied on
>Smart thermostats are becoming a thing
>Insurance companies are offering rebates if you install one
>People are adopting them and sooner or later you'll be ostracized or seen as a weirdo if you don't own one (similar to the adoption of smartphones)
>They monitor when you're at home, when you leave, when you return and collect all this data for big companies to analyze
>paying to get spied on and monitored
All of this, and more drives me up the wall. There's no privacy anymore. The monitoring is everywhere, but worse of all, it's hidden in plain sight, and most people are either too ignorant to pay attention or apathetic to care. Sometimes I wish I could rip technology from my life and live as a troglodyte.
