>log into xfinity wifi under my dads account at one building

>suddenly I'm finding and connecting to "xfinitywifi" hotspots everywhere I used to have to eat cellular data

I'm not even going to begin worrying about how insecure this is. This is perhaps the first time I've ever been satisfied with Comcast, and not wanted to pull my hair out with them. Do they do anything else right, /tech/?

Yeah, don't mind me. I'll just go download some cheesy pizza on someone else's wifi.

Their only saving grace is that they're the only company in my area. Those greedy fucks charged me $10 to ship a pamphlet and 5ft of cable that I never asked for and couldn't refuse.

Is there a way to circumvent the tyranny of modern ISPs and become your own? I don't care if it's dial-up. Every time I've read about becoming an ISP it always involves signing contracts with the big guys.

Move to Santa Rosa, CA. Where Sonic is based.

They're essentially the ISP equivalent of Cryptostorm. An economical service not run by Jews (unlike Comcast), who fully disclose their data retention and related practices to the customer. They only keep logs for up to 2 weeks.

2 weeks! They're a legally operating ISP in the US!
