There is a couple big fuckups on learning "tech" shit in college.
>prof makes less than what he would make in the field for his age bracket/ years of experience.
So he's a failure coming to teach you because he can't get a job
>prof hasn't been in the "field" for 5+years
so he doesn't know dick about what is currently out there
>you are going to a community college or shit tier university
Then they are going to sell you hard on how marketable their shit is then put you in classes with the cheapest teachers money can buy.
That being said I majored in philosophy and got a job for 65k within 2 months of graduating because I was "good with computers" I also fell into a job where I have way more responsibility and need way more technical know how then my pay grade so I fully expect to leave this job for double the salary in 2-3 years.
Its all about making sure you actually go out and learn what you need to and don't get spoon fed bullshit.

Join a startup. They will throw unqualified people into bigger jobs. You get to struggle to be "IT director" of a 20 man shop or even get a meme based title like "cyber security manager". You grind out not knowing what you are doing and not failing terrible for a couple years then go get the same job at a real company where if you studied they will keep you and assume you were just as good at the startup. If you didn't study/learn the fucking job then they will fire you and assume you lied on your resume.
