only games i can even remotely tolerate. everything else just makes me think "what the fuck am I doing with my free time?" Even cod5 makes me feel like a 16 year old basement dweller sometimes

I'm kind of trying to get into shmups, although mostly for specific game aesthetics.

Finished Sine Mora on baby mode, this game basically took a dump on my face and made me eat it

Did 1CC clear of Gigantic Army (it's kind of a shmup, right?) on Normal, then kinda got bored

Trying to do a 1CC clear of ALLTYNEX Second, but it seems impossible for me even on easy

Is there anything I should know to git gud, beyond basic practice and learning/figuring out enemy patterns? Or it's just pure practice + good reaction time?

I'm also thinking of making a shmup game (not for shekels, I just enjoy mecha porn and shumps seem to be the genre that employs it the most), but as far as I understand it's kind of bad idea unless I'm very familiar with the genre?

learn to score, if you can get to that last extend (requires 14 mil I think) it should make things easier.
