Replaying Morrowind for the umpteenth time, and I'd like some help/advice with mods. I've played Building Up Uvirith's Grave, as well as the Julan Ashlander mod, and I -tried- the Rise of House Telvanni mod, but got spammed with the missing texture issue (Pic related.) so if someone knows what is missing, that would be great.

I've got the Julan Ashlander mod, as well as Building up Uvirith's Grave, i'm about to download Tamriel Rebuilt, and I'm going to use OpenMW, but I'm not sure what other mods I should use. I want to know if /tes/ has any suggestions for Morrowind mods.

Any good mods I -need- to use?

I'm sure there's some stuff on this on the Lore thread already, but can we have one thread about Enantiomorphs? How they work, what the first one was and how this same shit keeps happening throughout TES games.

 No.10731

>>10729

What are some of the manifestations and results of the (or an) enantiomorph in Tamriel? What are some examples of men trying to tap into that power?

 No.10732

>>10731

The Enantiomorph is itself, the collective idea of two opposing yet equivalent forces, their merged dichotomy so to say.

Vivec, in his lessons assigns the number "11" as the "Number of the Master." The "Master" or "Ruling King" is someone who has beaten the Arena's test and has therefore become the undisputed Master of the world (one who cannot be defeated).

The Ruling King is therefore the singular pinnacle of mastery, and the only way to prove this mastery is to rule out any who could be considered your equal. This is where the Enantiomorph comes into play and the use of "11."

You see, the reason Vivec assigns "11" to the master is because it represents the conflict required to reach the mastery. Each "1" in "11" represents an opposing side. As the only way for either "1" to reach completely mastery is to defeat the other, both must be at their fullest possible potential in order for a conflict to ensue. Since both are at their equally possible potential (save for the mastery), they are in a bad spot because therefore they are both, in a very real sense, the same person (hence why they are both represented by "1"). This is why such a conflict requires a Witess, as if there was not someone observing the fight, the two combatants would not even be able to tell who was who in their fight.

However, if there is no Witness (or the Witness is removed/maimed/whatever), the "11" will collapse creating "2" which is the number Vivec assigns to the Enantiomorph, or in other words, the merged sum of both conflicting forces.

Why is Illusion magic legal? It'd be really easy for a master to abuse it. Getting in good with politicians, using invisibility to rob stores, rallying people to start a revolution, charming guards into ignoring crimes, date rape. They choose to outlaw levitation, but not Illusion?

I originally thought Lorkhan's plan was to allow everything to fully escape the Aurbis, and exist beyond all things but themselves. But from what we have been told now, all he wants to do is start the whole thing all over again, and right over the next ocean for that matter.

Even so I find the idea of endless disassociation and turning your mind into a spiritual big-bang to be absolutely terrifying.

 No.10637

reminds me of the theory that our universe is inside a black hole, and that every black hole contains another universe. like an infinite matryoshka doll.

 No.10651

>>10637

That's a common misconception. The universe actually works more like a White Hole, the opposite of a black hole:

Black Hole - Nothing can leave it past the event horizon. Space time bends inwards. The singularity is in the future (you are gonna crash into it)

White Hole - Nothing can return past the event horizon. Space time bends outwards. The singularity is in the past (the big bang)

Mod Idea:

Play as one of the Daedra races as some "cast out" daedra struggling to survive and gain the favour of a Daedric Prince while extracting revenge from those who damned you to exile.

Game space is set in several planes of oblivion and maybe a trip or two to Tamriel.

Play as Aurean, Mazken, Dremora, Xivilai, Seducer and Herne (maybe more)

Times are changing. Skyrim success was given by the nordic setting. If they would have pulled again a generic fantasy game they wouldn't have topped oblivion. Now TES is big enough to have hordes of nerds that would love to see elsweyr or blackmarsh and would defend to death the alien design. BGS would get free shilling too.

Skyrim milked the nordic dragon thing when Game of Thrones was hot shit. it attracted trend-whoring casuals and sold them on this pseudo-RPG formula that lets them pretend to be "nerdy", while careful not to make them feel stupid or challenge their attention span. Fallout 4 should give you an idea of how the next TES will be.

Hey guys. Since the board has been dead lately I decided to get off my ass and make a post for you n'wahs.

Since their is little lore about Akavir, I came up with a little hypothetical. Say you're a writer for Bethesda in charge of writing lore about Akavir. What would you do with it?

Are the Tsaesci a serpentine, beastial race or a breed of men? How do the (at least) four races interact with one another? Are their more races here? How do they view the Aedra and Daedra, if at all? How do they perceive the Tamrielic peoples? How are their cultures in general? How does the Nerevarine fit into all of this?

I'm curious to see your guys' thoughts.

 No.10469

I think that black marsh, elsweyr, summerset isles or valenwood are exotic enough as locations, as long as Bethesda doesn't give them the Cyrodiil jungle treatment.

I'd rather have Atmora anyway :^)

 No.10476

In regards to the tsaesci and what they would look like, there was some speculation as to what precisely was meant by the passage wherein it was stated that the snake people ate the humans of akavir. The best conclusion which most people seemed to think was reasonable was that the eating referred to a complete conquest and subjugation of the men of akavir. So that in essence, their culture became wholly absorbed by the vampire snakes proper, who for the sake of convenience we'll just call lamias. This would neatly account for both the descriptions of vampire lamias, the potentate, and the interbreeding of cyrods and akaviri, blades, sancre tor, etc.

In terms of eating, devouring the culture of an entire race and making them a subset of your own is a decent description.

Can somebody explained to me what happened in the mages guild quest-line in oblivion? In my first couple play throughs of it I never thought too much of what was going on, but after after my latest run I was thinking about what was going on and I just got really confused by this quest-line. Why was the mages guild so afraid of Mannimarco? How did he get such a large following of unquestioningly loyal necromancers? What was the purpose of the colossal soul gem as originally intended? How would it have allowed him to destroy the mages guild? Why did he even want to destroy the mages guild? Maybe I just didn't pay enough attention but I never really noticed any answers for these.

Technically, he was still somewhat underground in TESIV given the fact that he had traitors in the Mages guild and was basically assfucking everyone till the COC came along, and only the count knew about him, in addition to the organisation of the necromancers set to their forts and lairs who were on standby.

It's his personal presentation in Confront the King that was lacking.

If I had my way, I'd make the get the artefacts quests be timed quests, in that if you dick about too much, Mannnimarco gets an Heirloom, and if he gets one the outcome of the boss fight will be drastically different.

So if he gets the Necromancer's Amulet, Instead of MANnimarco, you get that Lich one from Mannimarco Revisited to fight, sporting spells featured on basic, to adept Necromancers, Worm Anchorites, The Lich of lost boy cavern, (Seeing as he taught the guy and because dual souls), and in addition to that, has a touch spell which does cold damage, and paralyzes.

If he gets the Bloodworm helm, but not the Necromancer's amulet, Echo Cave has significantly stronger Undead in it, featuring 2 Undead Mini-bosses and Mannimarco has Multi-Undead Summoning spells to compliment any multi summon mods the player has on (will still be made to work independently of mods, but multi summon mods really make fights with conjurers much harder.)

If he gets both, you get the Both of the features found above, but if he's kicking the player's ass too much, then you can try to smash up the Necromancer's amulet to debuff the guy a little, at the cost of never getting the damn thing.

Now that shit would be satisfying.
