Time to do something
Gentlemen, how do we make sure the next Elder Scrolls game isn't a super-casual gimicky minecraf ripoff it's likely going to be? We need to find a way to reach out to bethesda and make sure they don't fuck up the next one in the series, Skyrim wasn't BAD, but it was not good either, it was a very mediocre game (although still adictive) that lost way too much TES flavor.
First and foremost I believe that our that Bethesda should focus primarily on making the next TES game a true RPG. That is that they should be more concerned about providing a solid roleplay experience from the narrative and gameplay aspects, rather than trying to cover too much ground to catch wider audiences.
ç
the Brand is well known and people are awaiting the next game in the series, de-casualizing it now could not possibly turn the audience caught by Skyrim's success; people play these games to be immersed into a fantasy RPG with a solid identity, sure they want to build houses and customize their armors and play dress up, but having captivating stories being told all around the player, and seeing the consequences of your actions it what truly makes the game to be open-ended, and it's the very reason people are invested into the franchise.
TES is an RPG series with direct player action, and as such it should take pride on leading the industry in that regard, otherwise, it suffers an identity crisis.
Terrible followers thread
I've never bothered to check out what the huscarl for each respective hold looks like, but on my newest Skyrim character I've received a letter from the Jarl of Falkreath offering me the position of thane. Being the Hlaalu that I am, I thought it was a good opportunity for a free follower instead of shelling out for a mercenary or bringing the wrath of dragons upon my character in exchange for Lydia. I looked up who the huscarl for Falkreath was, and well…
It's a she-boon that dual-wields scimitars. As the huscarl of Falkreath, Skyrim's graveyard. What the fuck? Why? It makes no sense. Hopefully all the others aren't as shit.

Morrowind Races Overhaul
Hi, I've been working on and off on this and I am just looking for advice on my race replacment mod, right now I'm doing my preliminary sculpt for my Orc replacer, here is his head, the body is just the human one which is largely done but a few important things remain like animations before it would be ready to add to Morrowind, also it's built for Open MW exclusively since I want to take this all the way and I need features that don't exist in Morrowind to do this. Open MW doesn't support even the basics I need to get this to work within the engine, I'm not using .nif.
I aimed to get my orc face somewhere between Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, my meshes will be higher poly than Skyrim and closer to Oblivion, they are anatomically correct to my own skills which are quite limited.
Humans, Argonians and Khajiit are varying amounts of complete.
The ears are still early.
Mostly what I want is some criticism of my Orc, I'm not worried about making it 100% lore consistent, but I want it to feel like it belongs within The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind.
Also here's my Argonian with the Oblivion Argonian head for comparison.
Discussion has died down, which means it's time for the mandatory new thread.
Let's discuss elder scrolls game mechanics, either of existing games or what we'd like to see in TES VI. We've already had a few threads dedicated to specific stuff like armor, enchanting or werewolves.
Everything goes.
Female Character RP
We're all men here, let's just get that out of the way.
When you RP a female character, do you do anything differently. Bethesda games seem to not like making the world treat you any different just because you've a vagina, and the side effect of that is that you have to imagine yourself anything that would be a "female issue" in the world. Because they are there. In the books. Just like the good, fleshed out characters.
What do you do differently, if anything? How is it different for you to RP as a female character, especially if its a non-human one?
Is there any race worse than Bretons?
>Never accomplished anything of note
>Not even human
>Not even elf either
>Literal rape babies of slaves and elves
>When the badass Nords arrived from Atmora they didn't even realize these pathetic beings were related to them
>Never had a unified nation
>Never been important politically
>Ancestors of Reachmen savages
>Always been protected from foreign threats by neighbouring human countries
>Got cucked by orcs
Name a worse race, /tes/
>Make a new character on Skyrim
>Doing Dawnguard
>Decide to go with the vampire side this time, because in previous playthroughs, I only joined the Dawnguard
>Everyone in Castle Volkihar is an utter unlikeable cunt or edgy fetcher
>Hestla insulted my bros, the Companions
>Fura Bloodmouth has an annoying voice and every time she talks, I want to punch her
>The death hounds are ugly and I liked the Dawnguard huskies better
>Was playing a character that uses archery and I missed out on the enhanced dwarven crossbow
>Felt bad killing my Dawnbros, especially Durak and Gunmar
>Only decent character is Serana and she still follows you if you join the Dawnguard anyway.
>Vampire lord upgrades weren't even that great IMO. Apparently there are mods to make it better, but I have yet to install those.
Well, never joining the Volkihars again. At least with the Civil War, I was able to entertain the ideas of both sides when I played through them on different playthroughs, but here there's no grey area. Guess I should've seen that coming since they're vampires and all.
I was hoping that maybe they would be decent people and the Dawnguard might be a little intolerant towards them, but no, they're scum and the Dawnguard rightfully wants them exterminated.
Sure, the Volkihars make you lord of the castle, but honestly, not being the leader of the Dawnguard after their questline was a nice break from being the leader of every guild and the Thane of every hold. It's the reason why shit like the Archmage Tolfdir mod exists and is so damn popular.
Maybe I'm a minority in this, but the idea of being a vampire hunter always appealed to me more than being a vampire, reason I love shit like Castlevania, Blade, Boktai(Kudos to anyone who played it), and the Witcher(Monster slayer in general, but vampires are included).
House Sadras
So if you didn't know, apparently after House Hlaalu got permabanned, another house took its place; House Sadras.
Literally the only lore about them is a couple lines of dialouge from Dragonborn. They have no identity beyond that.
If you were a writer for Bethesda, who would you make the Sadras be? What are their customs? How do they fit in with the Argonian Invasion? What do they believe?
I'm curious to see what you guys can come up with.

>Skyrim is in a civil war, the Imperial legion and the Empire have ruled the land for centuries, but now Ulfric Stormcloak and his uprising have risen up against the empire over the outlawing of Talos worship after the Empire's defeat at the hands of the Aldmeri Dominion.
>This game takes place directly after the Dragonborn has defeated Alduin and saved Tamriel from certain destruction. You can play as any character in the game, create your own custom adventurer, or even play as the leader of any non-draugr dungeon (such as bandits or hagravens). Anything from a Jarl trying to gain power in the civil war or a daedric prince trying to curry influence are playable (With many Jarls and Daedra still available).

>These stats are used for almost all actions.

Mods for morrowind
Replaying Morrowind for the umpteenth time, and I'd like some help/advice with mods. I've played Building Up Uvirith's Grave, as well as the Julan Ashlander mod, and I -tried- the Rise of House Telvanni mod, but got spammed with the missing texture issue (Pic related.) so if someone knows what is missing, that would be great.
I've got the Julan Ashlander mod, as well as Building up Uvirith's Grave, i'm about to download Tamriel Rebuilt, and I'm going to use OpenMW, but I'm not sure what other mods I should use. I want to know if /tes/ has any suggestions for Morrowind mods.
Any good mods I -need- to use?
Mod Idea:
Play as one of the Daedra races as some "cast out" daedra struggling to survive and gain the favour of a Daedric Prince while extracting revenge from those who damned you to exile.
Game space is set in several planes of oblivion and maybe a trip or two to Tamriel.
Play as Aurean, Mazken, Dremora, Xivilai, Seducer and Herne (maybe more)
Is this Awesome Y/N?
The Continent we all circle jerk about. :^)
Hey guys. Since the board has been dead lately I decided to get off my ass and make a post for you n'wahs.
Since their is little lore about Akavir, I came up with a little hypothetical. Say you're a writer for Bethesda in charge of writing lore about Akavir. What would you do with it?
Are the Tsaesci a serpentine, beastial race or a breed of men? How do the (at least) four races interact with one another? Are their more races here? How do they view the Aedra and Daedra, if at all? How do they perceive the Tamrielic peoples? How are their cultures in general? How does the Nerevarine fit into all of this?
I'm curious to see your guys' thoughts.
Mages Guild
Can somebody explained to me what happened in the mages guild quest-line in oblivion? In my first couple play throughs of it I never thought too much of what was going on, but after after my latest run I was thinking about what was going on and I just got really confused by this quest-line. Why was the mages guild so afraid of Mannimarco? How did he get such a large following of unquestioningly loyal necromancers? What was the purpose of the colossal soul gem as originally intended? How would it have allowed him to destroy the mages guild? Why did he even want to destroy the mages guild? Maybe I just didn't pay enough attention but I never really noticed any answers for these. How could werewolves have been made better in Skyrim?
I've never really liked vampires, being the scum-sucking parasitic slaves to Molag that they are, but I am rather partial to werewolves. I'm rather surprised that there wasn't more to do with them in Skyrim seeing as Hircine is lord of the hunt; I would have expected there to be a sizable cult of his somewhere in the province, given the Nords' fondness for hunting. Instead, he was relegated to the confines of a single (admittedly pretty awesome) quest in Falkreath and a name-drop in the abysmal storyline of the Companions. Even if one were to just look at the mechanical aspects of lycanthropy in the game, it's rather underwhelming even with the ring of Hircine and the perks introduced with Dragonborn. Why couldn't there have been patrols of the Silver Hand that hunted you down if you were known to the realm as a werewolf? Why is the only negative that you don't get an experience bonus when sleeping, a relatively pointless exercise in Skyrim? Can Todd be blamed for all of this?
Pics related; I was feeling like a bit of an artsy fartsy poofter upon realising that there was actually a blood moon inside Bloated Man's Grotto.
Sup fetchers. Any of you blokes reckon you could help me with an issue I'm having in my modded Skyrim game?
I'm in the process of clearing out Halted Stream Camp, but once I get the Bandit Chief within it down to low hp he simply heals up to full and goes unaggressive. If I continue to wail on him he just starts fighting me again and the problem continues. If I do manage to kill him I get a pop-up saying that I failed a quest 'Escaped Prisoner', despite having never taken it. Pastebin with my mod order down below.
Mods, feel free to delete this if it doesn't belong here.
Elder Scrolls 6
I read just now that Elder Scrolls 6 may not arrive until 2019, 20 fucking 19.
As of now I think Skyrim is more fun than Fallout 4. Maybe its just me, but I'm not sure that Minecraft mixes with Bethesda: the building and settlement shit with the purely busy work quests feel tacked on. Not sure how to interpret it: pandering to the survival/building clique?
Pic-related is my face. 8 years in between an Elder Scrolls game is just too fucking ridiculous, and I mean JUST like Brenden Alimony JUST
8 FUCKING YEARS
JUST
I'm going to be thirty in 2019. I'm not even sure I'll give a shit about games at all then. Hell, I only give a shit about like 3 companies now.
I traded in my old PS3 to get a Xbone for FO4. FO4 is an inferior game and now I can't play Skyrim.
JUST FUCK ME IN MY ASS
Daedra
In the end, we really know nothing about the Daedra.
Consider Faydra Shardai. Not a member of Clan Dremora, but the leader of her own clan of Fire Daedra, Clan Shardai. In service to Mehrunes Dagon, and equal in power to the greatest of his Valkynaz, but not truly a member of them. Incredibly powerful, to the point of being completely indestructible for an Apprentice not armed with the power her name, and capable of reducing him to essence and making him into a new breed of Daedra should he choose to do so.
Then there's the Kyn, known to the Dremora by most mortals. Clearly, the vast majority of summons are from Clan Dremora, to the point that one clan has become synonymous with the entire race. But what has made them so common? Is this by the will of Mehrunes Dagon? Does he actively attempt to allow his servants to pass into Mundus for the purposes of destruction? Or is this merely a result of his comparative lack of guile, with the other Princes more jealously guarding the secrets of their elite soldiers?
And the Seducers: Servants to multiple princes, known by most to be treacherous. Some have wings, some don't. The title Dark Seducer seems to differ in meaning: is it one of rank, or is it a title?
And lets not even get started on the question of the Demiprinces.
The truth is, we know virtually nothing about Oblivion, and its politics. While we are fairly certain that there are exactly sixteen (seventeen) Daedric Princes, with the presence of creatures such as the Ideal Masters, how many completely alien entities of power might reside within the waters of Oblivion?
What are your thoughts?
Vampires and sunlight
Why do TES vampires get hurt by sunlight? Yes, I know, it's obvious, that's what they do. But it's actually magnus, aetherius, which is the sun.>trying to discuss civil war on SCUD or bethesda forums

What's that one questline or objective you don't mind repeating? That one story or adventure you can go through multiple times without getting sick of?
The one for me has to be the College of Winterhold's questline in Skyrim. Even with all its flaws, I think the College was done really well and the story itself involving the Eye of Magnus, Ancano and Bromjunaar has a surprising depth to it, raising questions about the Thalmor, Savon Aren's life, what the Eye actually is, the abilities of Magnus, the appearance of magical anomalies and the implications of them, etc. I appreciated the nod to the metaphysics of the Elder Scrolls universe.

On steam I can buy Oblivion: GOTY editon or Oblivion: GOTY deluxe edition. The former is cheaper and has the shivering isles and knights of the nine DLC, the former is more expensive and has all DLCs.
Are the minor DLCs worth the money? I'm a cheapskate FYI, or else I wouldn't ask.

Function of Magic
So how do spells really work?
The book Silence, and the function of that spell, imply that you need a verbal component for spells to function. Morrowind and the older games had a motion required to cast a spell, implying that the somatic is required. Morrowind even had casting times. But then you have Skyrim, which has casting times and motions for only a few. And you never hear anyone saying anything when casting spells.
So how do you cast spells, really?
Can we still discuss ingame lore?
Is anyone else here tired of Michael Kirkbride? I understand that he is an important figure for the series but I'm so sick of every TES lore board jerking off over his apocrypha. I used plebbit mainly for /teslore, but that place had been going to shit over this very reason even before c0da, and now its even worse. When did one guy's fanfiction trump discussion of actual ingame lore?
Few months after Skyrim release, I saw a video with dragons shouting by speaking real words, instead of the retarded typical dragons that breath fire. It was cut content or something, but it was really cool. They brought some of that back with dragons that use drain vitality, and you can still see the words with subtitles on. I think there was a mod about it too, and on the wikias pages thery wrote about it. Problem is, everything disappeared. The info on wikias, the videos, the mods. Do you know where to find the mods at least?
P.S.: this video is the closest thing I found to the video I saw back then. Minute 1:15 you can hear dragon shouting.
Pre Skyim Spouses
As per the title, we speculate which characters would have been marriage candidates if it had been implemented in the earlier games.
I'll start with an obvious one - Maeva the Buxom. For those of you that didn't play Oblivion hue or don't remember she was the farm owner outside Anvil that gives you the quest to go kill her estranged husband and bring back her family heirloom (a unique mace called Rockshatter). After completing the quest she often makes comments hinting that she wants to jump your character - "looks like I'm available again".
I would probably have picked her to be my spouse in Oblivion, she's a Nord, she was one of the less horrendous looking NPCs in the game and I always wanted to my character to live in one of the oblivion farm-houses.
/r/ing some hardcore Morrowind fans to give us their Morrowind NPC unrequited loves
ITT: One thing Skyrim did right, and one thing Skyrim did wrong.
>Right
Massive improvements to animation, making the game feel much more fluid and natural. Oblivion (and Morrowind to a lesser degree) is unplayable in comparison without animation mods.
>Wrong
Taking all distinctions between races away besides +50 Magicka for Altmer, minor skill differences and race-specific abilities. Having all characters begin with 100 Health, 100 Stamina, 100/150 Magicka and 15 to 25 in every skill made differences between the races negligible. You could play an Altmer barbarian just as easily as a Nord barbarian.
Greatest Hero of Tamriel
We've had a number of customizable protagonists in the Elder Scrolls series. Discounting the mobile games for a moment, we have:
> The Eternal Champion
> The Agent
> The Apprentice
> The Nerevarine
> The Hero of Kvatch
> The Last Dragonborn
Six heroes, each with their own accomplished feats, unique sets of skills, differing spells, and magical potential. But who is really the most powerful?
More appropriately, who is :
> The most magically powerful?
> The most physically powerful?
> The most power at the start of their adventure?
> The most power at the end of their adventure?
> The most likely to win in a fight?
> The most likely to win in a massive free-for-all?
> The most likely to get all of the bitches?
One rule: Don't fucking mention any Alchemy, Enchanting, or Smithing bullshit. No custom items or spells, because that just takes us on undesirable tangents.
eso challenge!
we all know that eso is massive turd and rape of everything that is good about the series. Still, i cant imagine that they did a game without any good qualities.
Go and find something that you think is at least decent.
Pic related, only good looking "style"of armor is breton armor. The rest looks like ass
Malborn the Immortal
So in the Thalmor Embassy, I just left via the cave once I got the dossiers without staying or knowing anything about Malborn's fate.
I go to WIDeadBodyCleanupCell to find him here, just staring at me beside the pile of bodies like "Hey, what's up?".
Apparently the game just auto-resolved that he died since I didn't stay around to see, and booted him to the cleanup cell without him actually getting it. So, essentially, he survived his own death and in all of my other playthroughs he was just condemned to stand there or wander a bit doing nothing while guarding a few empty coffins and a pile of bodies forever.
RESPECT THE NUMIDIUM AND AZURA
>turkish mayor blows money on a giant robot statue
>after criticism he simply replies "respect the robot"

>there is now a hotel in turkey called "Hotel Azura Deluxe" that has statues of the actual Azura from TES
>Is Also a Pre-ruin Ayleid Structure with hidden lore and Correct TES rainforest Flora and fauna
Autism
You have 10 seconds to explain why Oblivion and Skyrim didn't have Mount & Blade-tier horse combat, as well as realistic melee combat in general
Why is cavalry so largely absent in TES? Where are schiltrons/phalanxes/pike squares? Why don't NPCs fight in formations like testudos/shield walls/phalanxes? Why are the "longbows" in Skyrim not high powered English warbows that loose bodkins?
Are Bethesda completely ignorant of pre-gunpowder combats?
>nb4 muh magic changes it
Not that flaccid argument again. Magic doesn't eliminate the need for swords, bows, and axes, so there's no excuse for polearms and cavalry being absent
I hate Oblivion. But I really want to make a list of mods to make it great. I know the chance is slim, but I want to try.
Can some anons help me locate mods that fix the following:
1) Jungle
2) More moth priests
3) Leyawiin not blocking the river
4) Open cities
5) NPC overhaul from dull hippie comune to realistic people
6) Adds old spells, weapons, etc
7) Adds lore related locations and quests
8) Fixes Manimarco
9) Adds merchant boats traveling between Imperial City and the southern bay
10) Anything else that was wrong with the game.
What's going to happen to Morrowind after the events of Skyrim?
Obviously, the Red Year just fucked the entire province up, but as we learn in Dragonborn House Redoran are slowly fixing things up again, even managing to repel an Argonian invasion. Will the Argonians join the Thalmor by the next game? Will the Dunmer remain somewhat isolated and impoverished? Especially considering the fact that the Tribunal is now nonexistant and Vivec is at best presumed dead.
Morrowind Mods
I'm a guy who's always been interested in the lore of TES and played Oblivion and Skyrim to a degree, and also a little of the two first games. I found them to be lacking, and people often say I should give Morrowind a chance.Hey, quick question /tes/. I heard a rumor that you need to download steam (like Skyrim) to play the DVD-ROM version of Morrowind the re-release, as apposed to the orginal CD-ROM (and yes there's a GOTY edition of the CD-ROM version too.). Is it true? I want a physical copy of Morrowind for the PC, but I don't want steam.

For the love of the divines, someone please tell me they know how to fix this mod. Iv cleaned it, edited it, deleted parts of it, ran it while dirty and I still randomly CTD while in the area. Its a small lil town with 3 buildings.

How to make Skyrim fun again?
Sup guys, I've got 1500+ hours on Skyrim but i've got really fucking bored lately. Can anyone recommend me / share a good combination of mods to make the gameplay interesting again.
On a side note, I'm also looking for the best combo of graphics mods to achieve the highest overall quality possible+

After a longer break I decided to reinstall Morrowind together with 3 other major mods: MGSO, Tamriel Rebuilt and Rebirth. It's epic. What other good, lore friendly and compatible smaller mods would you guys recommend?
My character will be a nord paladin. Custom made class would look something like this:
Personality, Endurance
Major: Long Blade, Heavy Armor, Alteration, Speechcraft, Block
Minor: Blunt, Restoration, Athletics, Medium Armor, Enchant
Sign: Lady
All suggestions welcome.

Load Order thread
Post and share your Load Order's here, other anons will post theirs and people will comment and otherwise dicusss their mods with one another, and assist each other in keeping shit top notch, like say, someone has an older version of something and wouldn't figure that out until someone would be able to point it out and the like, or someone has a problem someone knows how to fix.
FCOM and batshit insane too ambitious overhaul users should probably not bother though, I mean, seriously, you're lucky enough to have pulled it off, let alone have much to contribute with a massive smoothie of quantity over quality stuff flooding your game, but that's just my opinion.

"Far Cry 4" Style Mountains
I want to make a mod that places bigger mountains along the border of the Tamriels worldspace. Placing the meshes would be easy enough, and generating them with dyndolod would be easy too. the problem is that I want to make LODs ONLY for the new mountains I'd be adding, without replacing lods for existing mountains/trees etc, that can be dragged-and-dropped into a user's skyrim/data without the user having to employ dyndolod or any other generation program.
Convince me to play Vanilla Morrowind
So let me start by saying that i'm a newfetcher in TES, i just started playing Skyrim a couple of months ago and i'm enjoying it quite thouroughly, i've also been pokin around the games' lore and been lurking here for a month now, and one thing that stands out is that most people here like to suck morrowind's dick pretty hard, why is the game the "pinnacle of human achievement", and what would compell me to play it.
Keep in mind that the whole lore of TES is right up my alley, with all the wars, the creation of the universe, and everything else.
That said, try and convince me of playing Morrowind, and don't even bother with Arena or Daggerfall, that's too archaic for me.
Go.
The Elder Scrolls VI
All right, since most fetchers here are bitching about the decisions Bethesda has made in TES games, this thread is for how YOU would create the next elder scrolls game, if you had the power.
Assume you have all the resources Bethesda Game Studios has, so you can't go too overboard with the costs, and also the game has to be finished in at least 8 years.
Changes/additions to existing lore?
Quests?
Voice acting?
Gameplay, combat, magic?
HUD elements, menus?
Main story, location, dialogue choices etc…
Anything related is allowed. Personally, I would steer TES towards the Daggerfall way of more random generation, and less hand-crafted stuff (meaning bigger map, more content, big cities)
Tamriel's geography
Hey, noob here.
What does Tamriel's geography look like during the events of Skyrim? I found some maps but many of them were inaccurate, because one still counts hammerfell as part of the empire, the other doesn't realize morrowind has been invaded by the argonians etc.
Most important questions are:
What parts of morrowind are part of argonia now and which are still under control of the dunmer?
How large is orsinium?
Any other information is appreciated aswell.
Pic unrelated.
Bloodmoon when?
Ok guys, I need to know something.
Every era, Hircine has this little hunting orgy he calls the Bloodmoon. Sort of how Jyggalag would initiate the Greymarch cycle every era. What happens changes throughout each Bloodmoon, but it's usually his cultists/hounds hunting powerful mortals. In Morrowind, there is an entire DLC dedicated to it. That was the Bloodmoon occurring for the Third Era.
Did a Bloodmoon already occur in the Fourth Era yet? Specifically in Skyrim?
In Hircine's quest, the hunter you meet as you enter the hunting grounds, says; "Has the Bloodmoon called you, hunter?" To add, the sky is also a crimson red in the grotto.
If this really was the Bloodmoon for the third era, why was it so anti-climactic? Why would Hircine waste his millennia of entertainment on watching a bunch of mercenary's hunt a stray werewolf? Why is it, like everything else in Skyrim, so under whelming?
Also, why is the reward a cuirass that has useless enchantments and low armor rating?
It should've been a series of quests instead of one lame one.
Why are Nexus mod authors such fucking s'wits?
I mean, I know it can get unnerving when their piece of shit mod doesn't work, and people are constantly complaining because they're a useless fuckwit.
But seriously? Responding to people and telling them after they recited the fucking mod page to READ THE MOD PAGE? Then whenever you inform these pompous jackoffs that their mod is fucking things up in the vanilla game, they respond with "it's not my mod! this works fine in my game, hurf durf I'm so retarded!" Yeah s'wit? Well I just unchecked all mods and started Skyrim 200 fucking times, and YOUR mod causes the problem.
Oh, it's not only that. Take Arthmoor for example. That jerkoff has grown such swollen balls from fixing people's problems INVOLVING PAPYRUS ERRORS, that he demands if people report papyrus errors on his mod, he reserves the right to ignore, remove or report. Yet when people ask things, he just responds with quick one liners, basically shifting the blame and telling people to fuck off and leave him alone, in as toned down words as he can manage on that Thalmor moderated site.
Granted, it must be frustrating when Dark0ne's dipshit mod team keep banning the good mod authors who didn't come out with sexual fucking anything, and then circumvent the bad mod authors that never updated their popular mod and now everybody's computer is blowing up. Yes, the Nexus mods are faggots! (Especially Buddha, fuck that guy. I hope someone comes along and rapes him with a barbed wire stick) I know, I know. HORSE s'witS is an important mod, and how dare I criticize it. My Little Pony dragon replacers is such a fantastic .. fuck me, I can't be sarcastic.
Mod Organizer
I followed the tutorial and for some reason installing mods doesn't show up any mod esp's and bsa's. Not to mention I'm getting "No game data on top level"
Following STEP guide seems to recommend this over nexus mod manager, but I don't see a good reason to use this over the simplicity of NMM.
Gods/Aedra outside the nine divine
A bit new to this lorefag thing but I was thinking about what other living Gods/Aedra there may be outside the nine divine, such as gods who appear in other pantheons but don't appear to be just the same gods with different names (Trinimac being an example) and don't seem to be just folklore either. My current interpretation is that while the Nine are the most powerful of the living Aedra who were trapped in Mundus, there are some less powerful Aedra who lived on Nirn and made it into several pantheons (This seems to be the case with many Altmer gods) before dying or could still be alive somewhere on Nirn. Some questions about the Nine vs. possible other Aedra (Not Daedra like in the Dunmer pantheon) that I'd like this board's opinion on are:
>Akatosh vs. Auriel
Most people say that they are just two names for the same god but I found it interesting that in the Cyrodil creation myth the Aldmer were led by Auriel in a war against the races of man and beast, who were in turn led by Akatosh. It would make sense, them being both born from Anuiel due to the middle dawn, but still being separate. So are they the same god or different?
>Arkay vs. Orkey
They have similar names and reperesent similar things but seem to be different gods to me. So are they the same, different, or is Orkey just a Nordic folktale?
>Lorkhan vs. Shor
These are obviously the same god but I was wondering if Shor was actually an aspect (Shezzarrine perhaps?) of Lorkhan that was forced to wander Nirn after his heart was ripped out and possibly aided Akatosh in a war with Auriel, thoughts?
Naked Nord has been following me for days
Guys I've been playing Morrowind, ran into this naked Nord, he's been following me, sometimes walking, sometimes sliding along the surface of the ground like some deranged silt strider, always watching me with those cold, lifeless blue eyes, unblinking in his vigil, waiting or me to drop my guard. I am too scared to rest. I dare not aid him in combat lest he reveal his true form.
I have spent five in game days like this, slowly backing away as he glides ever towards me.
What are the most widely used female body replacers?
I've been away from Skyrim since last summer, and in anticipation for TW3 I recently got a new build for my PC. While passing the time, I figured I could replay Skyrim since my PC is good enough to handle heavily modded Skyrim.
I have an ideal sweet spot between visuals (most of somethingfornobody's guide) and performance (1080p and 60 fps), with that said what is the best female replacer and texture for Skyrim? Sevenbase seems to be pretty popular but the fake looking tits look weird, Cbbe doesn't seem to get alot of armor support anymore despite having bodyslide 2 and ADEC. Can't seem to get Real Girls Texture replacer to work, even though its probably the highest quality texture.

Alright /tes/, let me hit you with a scenario.
>The year is is 4E 205
>After doing whatever the hell he was doing over in Akavir, the Nerevarine finally returns home
>Vivec died somewhere along their travels but the Nerevarine is practically immortal because he still has corprus albeit without the negative effects.
>The Nerevarine discovers that Morrowind got destroyed due to the meteor crashing into Vvardenfell and the Red Mountain erupting which was how the events of the Red Year commenced.
>Not long before the Red Year, the Nerevarine had destroyed the Heart of Lorkhan which caused the Tribunal to slowly lose their divine powers.
>The meteor crash happened because Vivec no longer had the divine power necessary to keep the meteor, which used to be the Ministry of Truth, afloat.
>The Nerevarine realizes that his actions with which he meant to save Morrowind were ultimately responsible for it's utter destruction.
>The Nerevarine becomes insane when faced with this cruel truth.
>When he also realizes that the Argonians took this as an opportunity to mass murder the Dunmer, the Nerevarine becomes enraged.
>The Nerevarine goes on a killing spree among the Argonians to avenge this and also gains followers among the Dunmer.
>The Nerevarine ends up having a huge cult-following which travels across the lands, murdering anyone who has wronged the Dunmer.
Now you have to realize that the Nerevarine is not only an amazing fighter because he had to kill Dagoth Ur and Almalexia at some point, but he also has a lot of artefacts on him like Hopesfire, Trueflame, Kagrenac's Tools etc.
He also had many lifetimes of training because he is practically immortal.
And what kind of magicks and martial arts might he have picked up in the land of Akaviir?
What's everyone's opinion on what would happen?
Races that aren't what they seem
Lets talk about Races that are not what they seem.
Orcs: could be Elves that got turned by Boethiah, but we also have books calling them Goblin-ken. What do Orcs themselves say about this mess?
Bosmer: To me, the Bosmer blur the lines between what it means to be an Elf or a Beast-man, even more so than the decidedly Beast Khajiit that some people keep insisting are Elves.
They fucked men and Ayylieds back in the day too, to complicate matters?
Sload: What the fuck are these things, seriously? No myths speak of them, and they certainly can't be dismissed as animals and lesser souls, but they continue to plague the existence of every non-disgusting species simply by virtue of polluting the air with their syphilitic lungs.
Argonians: Are they actually anything other than a slave-race created by the Hist to serve their purposes; grown from local lizard and shit? Sure, they can talk and walk upright and stuff, but are they REALLY like the other races, fundamentally?
Lets find out.
Shivering Isles questions
Tried asking these on /v/ but the thread died pretty fast
Why do the people of the Isles have trouble Believing Sheogorath is a Daedra Prince? (Besides the obvious "Theyre crazy durr hurr")
Where do the people come from? Are they all Sheo's followers transported from Tamriel, or are people born and raised on the Isles?
What is up with the indigenous wildlife? (Scalons, Elytra, Grummites etc) Could they be considered Lesser Daedra?
Is there more to the realm, or is Sheogorath's entire realm one single island?
Does anyone have a DL for the mod "Ninja Girl, Kumiko's Revenge"?
I found a German version
http://www.worldofelderscrolls.de/?go=dlfile&id=402
so if anyone has the ESP in a data folder they can just upload that somewhere without needing to figure out what models it needs.
Also lost mod general.
So I've done my fair share of lorefagging, but I'm still not quite sure of some of the finer points of what an elder scroll actually is.
>What exactly does it do other than produce prophecies?
It seems to be time related. In my most recent memory it is used by the dragonborn to project himself into the past. It was used by the Grey Fox to remove Nocturnals cowl, so it has some power over daedra? I don't remember what it was used for in Dawnguard but that it was involved.
>Where did they come from?
My best guess is that they emerged along with the shattering of the Aka-Tusk.
Witcher 3 in Skyrim
So, the Skyrim Witcher Experience mod is a horrible piece of shit. The only saving graces are the Drowners and armors. The custom Geralt race doesn't allow selection of facial hair or other hairs included with the mod. Most of the included hairs leave the back of your head bald, because it's meant to work on the Geralt custom race. The Yennefer armor mod creator forgot to put textures on the fucking gloves. All this aside, how good are you at character creation? This is my take on Geralt, Yennefer, then Ciri. Yenn needs more work.
Religion in TES
How does one decide on the religious affiliation of a character?Fallout 4
I know it's not TES, but it's certainly TES related. Fallout 4 thread.
The good
>You can give followers commands like telling them to pick items and bring them to you
>Vehicles, you ride around in them, not sure if you can drive them
>Layered armor, more armor slots
>The graphics look good
>The character creator looks good
>Jetpacks on power armor
The bad
>MC is fully voice acted. Only two voices for the MC, male and female
>Dialogue wheel, a max of four short choices for responses.
The awesome
>A ton of weapon customization, I mean damn.
>Power armor customization
>You can build setalments. You can build buildings and customize them, decorate them and put stuff in them. You build protective shit, like gun turrets, to protect your setalments from raiders. NPCs will come live in your setalments.
>Almost everything in the game can be used as material to build stuff with
>You can build somewhat complex stuff, like light panels that can be used to spell words or make pictures
The calm down it'll be fine
>They haven't really said anything, so this just speculation, but based off what we've seen there will be no skills. Although, based off of other stuff we've seen, it seams as though skills will be replaced by rankable perks. There will probably be 13 skill perks.
The ok that makes me a little nervous
>console mods for the XBone, and maybe the PS4. You'll be able to transfer them over from PC. Obviously they'll be watered down because of hardware limitations. So, probably no high res textures, no models with over X number of polygons and no scripts. They'll probably end up censoring console mods too, so probably nothing from loverslab. Still, it'll be cool for console players to have. Hopefully it won't affect the modding community in a negative way. Hopefully PC modding will be unaffected by this.
The ok that makes me a little less nervous
>it looks like they're not going to try paid mods again.
TESVI
So, elder scrolls VI may take place in… Argonia, Elsweyr, Valenwood, or Summerset isles?>Install Vurt's groundcovers
>Load up morrowind
>Vurt - solthsteim.esp error; "chunk too big, trunkated to x" x 10
>Vurt - Ashlands.esp error; "Texture for unknown_grass not found" x 500
>Literally every single element of the esp is fucking broken
>Disable those esps
>Main Vurt stuff still installed
>Load up morrowind
>The fucking grass has collision
>pic related
Toggle noclip and fly around
>Yellow boxes
>Textures/meshes missing in Palagiad region
What the fuck is this shit? I just wanted morrowind to be aesthetic. Is this shit normal with this mod? Can I fix it? If not, are there any other alternatives?
So… Fallout 4 is on it's way, and it looks to have a voiced protagonist. Chances are, the casuals and console plebs are going to love this because "muh cinematic experience" "so engaging".
What's your reaction to a TES VI where the player character is voiced, and because of that you can only play as an Imperial PC following along a much more character focused and tightly paced storyline.
Problem with the creation myth?
According to the myth, all of reality is created
from the interplay of Anu and Padomay. Consensus seems to be that neither are actual beings but metaphors for the laws that govern all things; Stasis and Change respectively. If this is true, then the myth cannot explain why anything exists at all since stasis and change presuppose the existence of something(s) that can endure or change. What is the cause of the being of things that endure and change?
Which Tamriel race could represent Slavic people? Searching some information online, I see that people mostly consider Nords as having some slavic elements, but others also include orks, although I see orks more as mongol - central asian barbarians.
Colovian culture has interesting Pseudo-Slavic elements, like personal names (Rislav Larich is typical example) and even city names (Skingrad).
Other question is, considering I'm slavic, 6'4'' tall, muscular, light brown hair and pale, which tamriel race could I fit the best? I always go for nords but I don't see myself as typical viking type.
Masser and Secunda: Reading way too far into things
Right so I was particularly bored today and I decided to do a little star gazing. I noticed that Masser is actually quite large especially compared to moons in our own solar systemImageboard "lore guides"
I can count 15 or so screencaps that vividly describe places, peoples and various other topics from The Elder Scrolls. I'm wondering if there's any interest towards compiling new or updating known pictures/screencaps in a way that'll help /v/irgings and other interested people learning lore basics.
It wouldn't be only for them, either. Painting a picture of a province or a war through a short text instead of fifteen disjointed UESP pages is something even we could appreciate.
On the downsite, this could potentially kill discussion.
Pic related. I typed this back on Aldmeris (I think), and found a screencap floating around later. On rereading it, I realize I got some stuff wrong and more details could be added. I still have the original text, so it could easily be edited instead of typed out again. Throwing this out just in case there's interest. Can't kickstart the thread without offering something.
Anyway, my first question is should we? And the second one is, is there any interest in doing so?
Furry head mounts
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65960/?
This is fucking hilarious.
The flight plan I just filed with the census office lists me, my legion, Nerevarine here but only one of you! First one to talk gets to stay on my Megalomoth!
[grabs an ordinator]
Who paid you to kill Nerevarine?
[No answer, Caius fires his Dwarven Crossbow away from the Ordinator's head]
He didn't levitate so good!
[pulls the Ordinator back into the plane]
Who wants to try next?
[grabs another Ordinator]
Tell me about VEHK! Why does he wield the SPEAR? A lot of loyalty, for a hired Armiger!
Or perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man, before throwing him out of a moth?
At least you can talk. Who are you?
It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our CHIM.
[Caius removes the water mask]
No one cared who I was until I murdered Nerevar and stole divinity.
If I took Kargenac's tools, would you die?
It would be extremely painful.
You're a big guy!
For Morrowind.
Was getting caught part of your plan?
Of course… Nerevarine refused our offer in favor of yours, we had to find out what he told you.
Nothing! I said nothing!
Well, congratulations! You got yourself caught! Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Destroying Vvardenfel… with no survivors!
MGE XE problem
Yes, I've compiled distant lands with all mods on, even if grass mods that aren't normally enabled. Anyway, I have two problems I never had before.
First is that while distant land works, it loads low polly versions of everything too fucking near. It pops up right in front of my eyes almost all the time.
Second is that even though I've built shrine of Boethiah and ended Dagoth Ur, distant land loads them as if they didn't happen. I haven't tested this one, but it may be just that save is older than MGE XE.
Does anyone know how to fix these?
Skype Paragraph Roleplay
I'm looking for someone to maybe RP with over Skype. I'll say as a disclaimer that I'm a bit of a novice to RP and I'm not an amazing writer or anything, but I'm literate.
The only story idea I have so far is about an escaped khajiit slave but I would be happy to entertain any ideas you have if you don't like that setting.
My skype: Isaacthekhajiit
The Elder Scrolls: Total War
So this glorious team just released an Elder Scrolls mod for Medieval 2 Total War. It is in pretty rough shape right now. The main campaign didn't work for me but the Daggerfall one did. Even if you start a campaign half of the unit, building and all of the nation descriptions are in Russian (even with the english patch).Kamal mod
Um… hello all. Just a nexus modder here. I'm currently working on a Kamal race mod for Skyrim. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Kamal_%28race%29
It's very simplistic but I was hoping to get some feedback on what I've currently made as seen in the images I've uploaded which show the 2 versions of Kamal I'm currently working on. I know it's not too good, but any feedback is welcomed.
Pretty badass looking
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/62609/?
Could a brave soul download this mod and tell me if it works out?
I bought some used PC as my old one was fucked up but now I can't play Oblivion and Skyrim smoothly, so I decided as I didn't play other games to install them and play them as I like TES until I buy new PC.
So my question is, should I play circled games?
Or are they less interesting in terms of lore and gameplay?
TES TG thread
For discussion of either of the two known PnP games for the setting, and any other homebrews.
Speaking of which, I'm currently putting one together, because the two popular ones being paraded around the internet don't really appeal to me. I'm thinking of a from scratch percentile system, or using the Ironclaw system.
I suppose HARP could work, but by the Nine, that system is such a clusterfuck.
/requiem/ general
Posted this on Nexus but the thread got ignoredWhich three races are the best to choose for someone who wants to play the game as a warrior, mage, and thief?
I used to play as a Nord warrior, Altmer mage, and Bosmer thief, but I want to try something different. I plan on being an Orc warrior, Breton mage, and either Argonian or Khajiit thief. I want to use bows on my thief, but I don't want to play as a bosmer again.

Oy vey, why aren't you buying my mods you filthy nwahs?
Roleplay General
Roleplaying General. I'm surprised this isn't a thread already.
I'm personally trying to roleplay in morrowind, but I'm sure any advice can apply to all games. Basic advice, tips, styles, character making, etc. is the main gist for this thread, for anyone.
Skyrim blog and YouTube has too many mainstream , lazy people who know little about the lore of the series. So I'm turning to you guys.
Also rip sotha sil because he is the coolest of the ALMSIVI.
Feel free to let this thread tank after my question gets answered, but: what the fuck?
Shouldn't access only be denied if Oblivion is installed in the same directory as Program Files? Mine's on an entirely different drive. Why the fuck can't I install Detailed Terrain?
I already tried running OBMM as admin and nothing changed.
Fuck Paid Mods
In case anyone is reading this. Please consider joining the following group ( http://steamcommunity.com/groups/DoItForFree ) If you are against this paid modding bullshit.
The intention is to get shitloads of members and once a decent amount has been reached, force Valve to take notice of this, also it's supposed to become a place to share paid mods for free in the future.
Please join, I don't want to be that autistic guy that's alone in the group.
Help me enjoy Oblivion /tes/
It's really driving me crazy /tes/, ever since it first came out I've been trying to enjoy Oblivion in the same way I enjoy Morrowind and Skyrim. I've tried vanilla, I've tried it modded up to the tits, I've done everything. I just find it too fucking boring to even mildly enjoy.
Political Correctness Hits Skyrim
Anti-Stormcloak is codeword for Anti-Nord!Shaman RP
What are some spells and mods for a shaman character? Quest ideas are appreciated too.Amaranth Natural Selection
So I was bored today and I decided to read up on amaranth.
The Nerevarine
The Nerevarine was sent to Morrowind and released by Imperial order. What led them to suspect the player character in particular? Did they get information from Seif-ij Hidja, who claims in the book The Doors of Oblivion that his master was told of the Nerevarine by Azura?Whatcha Whatcha Whatcha Want (Whatcha Want)
Next TES game, what do you want?
