I mostly play female characters after completing my first playthrough. I didn't used to when I was younger, because I thought it was weird. But as I've gotten older, I've found it easier to roleplay as a female.
To elaborate: When I play a male character, I almost always inevitably slip back into behaving how I would behave myself, or worse, just playing as if it was a game. When I play a female character, on the other hand, the character menu, dialogue, and so on are all enough to leave a constant reminder of the divide between player and character, making it easier to play whatever role is present.
That being said, I usually play stealth or magic based characters as a girl, with the claymore coming out later in the game at high levels.
