>>1158 i never even got to finish my playthrough with Julan, but i remember i got pretty far, and goddamn did he have an immense amount of dialogue, probably the most detailed companion made for maybe any bethesda game, the amount of time and effort put into him really shows. i didnt care for the whole, "hey im gonna hook up with your ex girlfriend" sideplot thing though.

Don't know if this is the right thread but what is /tes/ thoughts on Skywind? It seems to have a lot more potential than Morroblivion, and from the previews they've already made most of the game, they just need to finish voice acting and making graphics for everything.

Pic related, their Ash Vampire model is badass.

Lilarcor. There were way more sophisticated companion mods around. But I just loved the hell out this one for some reason. Hell, I even end up ripping the voice files and adding them to the Sentient Weapon Oblivion mod in place of the god awful edgelord assassin voice. It's a bloody shame the Skyrim mod sucks so hard.

For me it's the LGNPC mod. Such a small change can make the world that much more engrossing.
>>1222 >Compare to Tamriel Rebuilt, Skywind actually has a chance of being completed in our lifetime. I've been trying out Tamriel Rebuilt recently and it looks like it's advancing pretty well. As long as the quality stays at the same level I'll gladly wait another decade for it to be finished.
Anonymous 10/12/14 (Sun) 02:18:56 No. 1287
>>1202 There's really no point to it with OpenMW on the way. The entire point for a project like this is to provide the old experience in an updated fashion, allowing fans of the game to experience it with better graphics and greater compatibility with modern tech, while allowing people new to the game a more accessible way to play it. The problem is that Skywind fails at both parts. They've changed the designs of a lot of creatures in a more drastic than necessary measure, as shown with >>1258's legs, which means they aren't creating an updated version of the old experience, but a different one. Also, its confined within the limitations of Skyrim, which means, among other things, less skills, no weapon types from Morrowind not already found in Skyrim, and no spell creation. It would make much more sense to create Morrowind as it is at the time that Skyrim takes place. That way, their design changes would fall in line with how Bethesda sometimes changes designs (as seen with the Horker), and the limitations of Skyrim's engine would be less jarring.

I kind of always just assumed they had legs but the model didn't show them because of tech limitations.

>>1328 That comparison really doesn't work and you know it. 'Specially since there's lore that describes cliftracer nests and things. Best I could figure is they spend their non flying time hooked on trees by their tails, but even would seem rather awkward.
Plus I can't help but feel that this "Clifracers shouldn't have legs!" thing is the Morrowind equivalency of the "It has to have four legs to be a dragon!" bullshit.
Anonymous 10/13/14 (Mon) 04:41:43 No. 1331
>>1329 That's a bad comparison because dragons in TES have always had 2 wings and 2 legs. Daggerfall had dragonlings but no dragons. Cliff racers have never been depicted with legs, And as far as I know no one has made a statement about them having leg. And if they didn't have time to give them legs then why did they have time to put a fin there?

>>1202 Looks lame. I mean the thing that made Morrowind so special is it's engine with it's complex handling of RPG elements and as such totally abusable systems. Unless they totally reprogrammed Skyrim to have stats and skills and acrobatics and levitate and broken enchanting, magic, and alchemy then it's going to be missing an awful lot of what makes Morrowind still one of the best Elder Scrolls games.
